@@javo5270 I know where you've coming from. 99% of people on the road in Japan don't respect the speed limits. However, the police have stepped up their speed traps, with an increasing number of unmanned speed cameras popping up all over the place, and even if you're just 1km/h over the limit, you'll get a subpoena to visit your local police station and you'll be issued a fine, with points off your license. It's absolutely crazy. On top of that, if you drive under the speed limit you get mad abuse from fellow drivers. I, on the other hand, like to drive slow. I find it kind of zen. Everyone is always so frantic, that slow riding is strangely calming and soothing. Give it a try some time.
why is it so low?
To try and reduce the number of accidents each year.
