Wooh, this is great! When I saw your Community Posts for this remix, it got me really hyped, especially since you had such genuine enthusiasm for it. From concept to execution, everything here is tight! The approach of putting a pair of similar-sounding themes from two completely is super creative, and it was cool to read your thought process leading up to this remix. Isn't it weird how these ideas hit at random times, during the most mundane of tasks? There's always the worry of being able to hold on to those moments of sudden inspiration until you're able to get them written down (or more ideally, into a DAW), but it sounds like those ideas really took form here and grew into something grand and majestic! I don't know the Pigstep melody well at all, but the moments where DFttF comes in, like at 1:41, hit just right for me. Props to you for arranging this in a way that both themes were woven together seamlessly. The adjustments to chord structures, as well as the extended segments really made everything flow together well, and honestly, that's one of the most fun parts of arranging. I'm sure it was a bit of trial-and-error to get everything just right, but your efforts really paid off here! The mellow intro really draws the listener into the music, and I like how the song concludes with minimal instrumentation, bringing things full circle. Speaking of instrumentation, I like the instruments used here! Is that a clarinet at 0:56? I love the tone of it, as well as the dynamics. And the layering sounds great when that higher octave comes in at 1:18. Ooh, and that synth at 1:41 sounds too nice, especially with those pitch bends on the note attack. I was able to listen to this with headphones the first time, and that bass comes through beautifully, providing lots of warmth and depth. The acoustic-sounding drums round out everything nicely, too, and the rides are especially nice. I wouldn't be surprised if this remix gets a big response in the coming days, and I hope it does! Keep it up, Caleb! 🌟
You hit a lot of it on the nose! It was definitely a challenge to manipulate the chords of pigstep and using them to incorporate Dialga's theme in them! And yes that is a clarinet. It just seemed like a perfect instrument to use for this style. Appreciate you listening and the detailed comment EQ!
This should be in Pixelmon!! I did not expect this haha but if I listen to each separately I see how they can do together. This is such a flawless arrangement really well done!
