Brings back memories. I built this in the 1970s as a kid. Great stuff.
I had these kits when I was a young lad, they were issued by Disney and manufactured by MPC, I loved them, they were my treasures. Now I don't know what happened to them. When you're a kid you think things last forever. Im so happy to see them reissued! Thanks for another great video.

Love these kind of kits. I've had one pre-ordered since April. Even more excited now that I've seen your review. You did a great job. I have the one with the pirate and alligator that I built many years ago. I plan on getting all that are released. Thanks.
Me too, it's really nice. I was too young to enjoy these as the Disney kits but ever since I heard of them I wanted to build them. Now we have the chance!
i was looking at a 1974 issue of vampirella and there was an ad for these skeleton kits with "zap" action.
Yeah, each one has cool rubber band action, or 'zap' as they called it back then.
This was originally called Dead man's chest, and was the old Disney Pirates model kits that were out in the 70's.

This is a very welcomed release. Those POTC kits can be found on eBay but they are a fortune if unbuilt.

Loved "Dead Man's Raft" as a child and you did a GORGEOUS job on this new version. It would be wonderful if Lindberg released the entire series.

Had these as a kid, along with the Haunted Mansion series, but always wondered what you do when the rubber band gets old and breaks? If memory serves, they were put in and then the pieces in which they were placed were glued shut, as shown in this video. Just curious.

Imagine of Lindbergh made 1/12 scale sailing ship from the Jolly Rodger series huge and came with all the kits and was a huge ghost ship only in your dreams lol

What type of bronze paint did you use for the cannon? It looks so realistic, and it's the one thing I can't get the way I want on this kit so far.
It was a craft metallic, dry brushed on but can't think of the name brand at the moment. Just browse the metallic craft brands and pick a bronze you like.

I've been toiling to make plastic wood come out like that but I haven't tried the dark undercoat. What did you spray as that dark primer? Thanks.
I think he uses Rustoleum flat black primer. One one kit he painted the skeleton with flat white primer, but on others he's painted them flat black along with most of the other kit components. I'm not sure why, have asked.
You wouldn't have an extra of this kit you can sell for a reasonable price do you? It's out of stock everywhere and the only ones I can find are on eBay for $140-$170 :(
