"I managed to pluck a disaster out of thin air!" Very well said and who of us hasn't done the same at the end of a race with no more pressure at all? I know exactly how it feels. Therefore, if someone overtakes me after such a negligence of mine, I just roll my race to the end and do not to try to reclaim any lost positions. It's for me much saver to punish just oneself and not to threaten someone else too.
Congrats for getting out of rookies. I was very much entertained watching this video and didn't skip a second. Top production once again. No need to change the recipe, just keep racing and making these videos. TOP!
Haha yeah I know 🤦🏻♂️ knew it would happen, as he was so close behind the other guy. Only consolation was that the car in front didn’t make it to the line in time, so I got a position back that way 🤣
Unlucky at the end. Other wise a great race and a grand effort. Always entertaining. You have me on the edge of my seat every time i watch. Keep doing what you're doing. All the best
Great Video and great commentary chris, per usual :). Unfortunate race, but spa will either feel amazing or just straight up abuse you lol, kinda like Silverstone.
Ahhh that’s really helpful, something else I had no idea about. Yeah if you’ve got a setup you could send, that’d be fantastic. I’ll message you my email address on LFM later 👍 looked like the McLaren was the car of choice in this one though
@@chrisrogerssimracing No worries Chris I'll keep an eye out for your message and sent the setup. Yep the McLaren is absolutely dominant at the moment, usually makes up the majority of the top 10.
Cheers Joe, yeah an embarrassing gaffe at the end! I’d started the day just planning to farm SR and amble around at the back. But got bored of that, so thought I’d at least try to have a race. Luckily still gained enough SR anyway, despite the hiccups!
It's horrible when that happens. These cars are so wide and seating position so low that you're always running the risk of this happening. Had one last week at T1 around COTA. Car slowed to a near stop in front of me and I ended up spinning him. Did I wait for him? Hell no. I thought it was his fault for going way too slow. Replay showed it was the car in front of him. He'd had to dab the brakes to avoid running into the back of the other guy and that caught me out.
Yeah, I was convinced I’d been brake-checked at the time. Concentrating so much on lining up a pass into the chicane, I didn’t even look further ahead to notice the slow car. Unavoidable in the end. The guy who ran out of fuel really should have got off the racing line / track when he saw two cars fighting for position charging towards him. It ruined a grandstand finish!
@@chrisrogerssimracingYh an unfortunate end to a good race I was taken out earlier into this race and had to fight back throughout. Great videos glad I got featured in one for some good driving.
What happened to your pace? I feel like you're usually a bit faster. How much do you typically practice before going into a race? Regardless, the video is very entertaining, thank you! That ending gave me some PTSD flashbacks to the time I needlessly spun in Les Combes at the end of a race... Going into the corner after the straight, I spun on the apex kerb and and hit the right-side guardrail. It was a light tap, but my steering was misaligned... I barely managed to nurse the car to the finish line. Fun times.
Yeah, sadly I’ve lost a lot of pace in the past 3-4 months. When I race combos that I also did last season, I notice I’m around 1 to 1.5secs a lap slower now. But I’m not driving nearly as much, so I’m just getting a bit out of practice / rusty. I don’t really get chance to do any practice sessions, other than maybe 20mins before the race. So I use my qualifying run to get familiar with the combo again. Which explains why I’m finishing the race with much better race lap times than qualifying lap times!
What are you doing, mate? :) Look, let's just set aside the fact that Spa probably isn't the best place to farm SR. But if you're mainly looking to farm SR and get out of Rookies, why are you racing people? Who cares what position you're in, as long as you get out of Rookies. I know I usually chide you for being too nice, but this is the reverse. Let people by, and just poodle around in the back being safe. There's no racing in Rookies, unless you're at the very top of the pack. The whole idea is to get away from the people with no race-craft. :)
Haha yes. I’d actually done 2 races before this one, where I did exactly that and gained a load of SR. But it was boring (and also not video-friendly) so I fancied having a bit of a race too at the end. Knew it was a gamble that I could undo the SR I’d just gained, but thought it was worth a shot for enjoyment purposes. And actually, the lesson I’ve learned from it is - I won’t worry about SR farming in future. These few rookie races I did were no worse than the main series which caused me to lose rating in the first place! So from now on, reckon I’ll just race wherever my licence puts me 😃

Excellent, really happy to hear you like the format. I aim to make it as easy to watch as possible! Thank you 😃
I agree your videos and commentary are great 👌
@@keeef23 Ahh thank you mate, very kind of you 😃
Should be getting calls for esports commentary, good stuff as always bud
Haha thank you mate, the phone hasn’t started ringing yet! 🤣
You're such a good guy that you even gave the position back to the person you didn't take it from. :)

Really enjoyed this fella. Great commentary. Very engaging.
Hey, nice one! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
Great run there Chris until that last lap, been there, done that Buddy!! Still a great run though! Thanks for sharing with us!!!!
Thanks Walt, yeah much more fun than my original plan of just running at the back to stay protected for Safety Rating! Cheers
Unlucky at the end. Other wise a great race and a grand effort. Always entertaining. You have me on the edge of my seat every time i watch. Keep doing what you're doing. All the best
Thank you Andy! Entertainment is always the main aim, rather than finishing position 😃 cheers mate
Bad luck, Chris! But still, that's a great result considering the goofs. I've ended races much worse than that, so I know the pain.
Yeah that final corner could have been much, much worse! It was only luck that kept me out of the wall!
Love your commentary matey and the racing of course. Keep it up!
Nice one, glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching, really appreciate it 😃

Thank you mate. Reckon I’d have been much more competitive if I’d got chance to run this race a couple more times. Still very enjoyable though! Cheers
Great race buddy, just love the way you put everything together its brilliant!
Thank you my friend, really appreciate that. Makes it all worthwhile, knowing you guys enjoy watching them!
Good top 10 Chris! Great race glad to see you back out of rookies :)
Thank you Bill! Now just need to make sure I get another couple of clean runs in, to give myself a bit of a ratings buffer.
Great video as always Chris
Love the racing buddy 😊
Chris quick tip with the 296, turn TC2 off completely, it absolutely kills your lap times. If you need a setup let me know.

Awesome as always mate 👍
Ahh thank you mate, cheers for watching. Appreciate the support 😃
Dam i needed some of that self destruction from Doyley and Emil last night lol!!!Pity you weren't in heat 15 lol!!!!!
Haha 😂 ahh mate I missed the speedway last night, gutted, sounded like a cracking meeting (for a neutral!)
Nice jump !
Haha thanks! Closest I’ll get to the Dukes of Hazzard in ACC 🤣
Love watching your trials and tribulations Murray, I mean Chris. 😀
Hahaha thank you mate, yeah never a dull moment! Cheers 😃
Good driving all in all mate, shame about the slide at Les Combes but yeah good solid driving otherwise

great action m8
Thank you Andrew!
Not enough drama for you? Thought it a good idea adding some in the final chicane just keeping up the excitement! . 🤣
Haha yes, the last lap started far too boringly for my liking!
Lol im Matthew feltham on that grid
Ahh the guy who showed the impressive avoidance skills! Good work! Sadly I couldn’t replicate it on the final lap 🤣

Christ, guy on pole with a 2:15.9 😧

Ohhh Mama, Im on the tv
Well, you would have been on tv if you were slower 🤣 too fast for me to see you! How do you manage a 2.15.9?? Amazing lap time.
