But all of them did all of those things because it might them feel good about doing the right thing. They got to be the good person. Or it made them happy that they made someone else happy. And they wouldn't have done any of those things if that hadn't made them feel good about themselves. So not entirely selfless.

I believe an example of a selfless good deed (based on their criteria ) could be something like giving you're seat in the subway to someone who needs it more . A lot of people give their seats to those older than them. sure you may feel good about it almost every time. But it's such a common occurrence I'm pretty sure someone somewhere just subconsciously did it cause it's the right thing to do and nothing more. Good deed without feeling good about it.

The only example of a selfless good deed is one in which it is impossible for that to occur. To act selfless is to essentially not even really possess a consciousness. If you think, you are. If you are, your evolutionary instincts dictate your motives. Thus, your actions follow your motives. There is always capital to be gained outside of materialism. Emotional and social capital play a big role in decision-making. But regardless, both are inherently selfish.
How about when parents sacrifice themselves for their kids? Imagine a single mom who became pregnant very young without planning to be, alone without no one to help her, working her ass off, hungry, begging on the streets for money so she could buy her child some food?

I believe an example of a selfless good deed (based on their criteria ) could be something like giving you're seat in the subway to someone who needs it more .

sure you may feel good about it almost every time. But it's such a common occurrence I'm pretty sure someone somewhere just subconsciously did it cause it's the right thing to do and nothing more.

Nah. If you feel good about it or think there is some greater purpose to your deed, its still selfish because you are thinking of yourself (conscious or subconsciously) when acting altruistic.
The only example of a selfless good deed is one in which it is impossible for that to occur. To act selfless is to essentially not even really possess a consciousness. If you think, you are. If you are, your evolutionary instincts dictate your motives. Thus, your actions follow your motives. There is always capital to be gained outside of materialism. Emotional and social capital play a big role in decision-making. But regardless, both are inherently selfish.

How about when parents sacrifice themselves for their kids? Imagine a single mom who became pregnant very young without planning to be, alone without no one to help her, working her ass off, hungry, begging on the streets for money so she could buy her child some food?
@@corsariocapitao The child is her offspring, it's in the parent's genes to take care of their child because that's how the offspring survive, it is still selfish because the parents wants something to be left of them when they die, and the need to be selfless with their children is so they survive and pass on their genes also. The selfish reason is passing on your genes.

The point they are arguing is it makes you happy so it is selfish
I think it depends
If you are doing a good deed because you want to feel good , then it is selfish
But if you do Sth good without thinking , you don’t have any thought by that time , and the good deed makes you think good , it is not selfish
Just like Phoebe give birth to his brother’s kids . She didn’t want to feel good to do that , she just want to help , but it her feels good
