I played a lot of smash. Even competed in it. I bring this up because it taught me a LOT about competitive games and environments. It's prepared me for how I will approach learning CC. No matter what stage of the game you're in, from complete novice to master, you should always go in with a learning mindset. I always try to ask: "What mistakes did I make, and how can I improve from them. How would it help my team to do better?" "What did I do right and how was I rewarded? How did it help my team?" Random teammates may not know I'm doing this, but the right ones will benefit from my improvements and play this way. The hardest thing about team based games though is you can't control what your teammates do, and that's where the bulk of ppl's frustrations come from. I've found that if you focus on your own gameplay, no matter how bad (or good) the match goes, your mental health will be the better for it. Also, being friendly helps. You're being paired up with people you're just meeting and have no idea what their playstyle is like. If anyone has taken a leadership class, you know this is a big ask for groups of ppl. So be nice, say hi, and be open minded to working together. You'll win more that way.
I noticed the games I’ve won are the ones where the entire team works together to focus on targets and wipe them out fast and then run and push the crystal. I always see one person running to push crystal alone and get wiped out because they are alone and they blame everyone else by spamming “push the crystal”
Just thinking it’s easier to push crystal when it’s now 5 against 3 or 2 and even better if the other team has staggered returns where you can keep picking them off and pushing at that point.
@@RavanaMuse Sometimes it's better to win the fight first so you can push obj without pressure. Video mentions dynamic decision making. This is a good example. The dude in OP's example did not practice that very well. If all he's going to do is push blindly, no wonder he kept dying. He only has himself to blame for not working with the team and playing, essentially, by himself. Bad teammate.
@@RavanaMuse A coordinated push is definitely better. If all you're doing is pushing alone while a more important fight is happening, then it's bad decision-making on your part. If you want others to push with you, indicate that before jumping in, dying and spamming push the crystal. Spamming the same thing in chat can also impact your team's morale and that's not at all gonna help you win anything. Be a better teammate, communicate properly and work together.
@@miqotesoulia8620 Right, but you can play aggro knowing that you'll have a pot respawning in 5 seconds that the enemy most likely wont know is spawning soon
I main DNC, and it’s so hard to climb with it…. Because no matter how well I play if my team isn’t matching that energy we can’t get out ahead. Im usually in the top 3 of most damage in my party but it’s frustrating!!! DNC is fantastic and the AOE’s can be devastating to other team… but I can’t carry with it. I can only swap DP and heal for like 10k? If that… I started playing other classes to understand better and I really like healers. It gives that additional buff, shield or regen that can turn the tide. But my damage isn’t nearly as high as I am with DNC. Idk, feeling stuck at gold and it’s driving me insane
My point with not focusing one person was more so meant as not getting tunnel vision. It's why I said you always need to ask yourself who is the best target at the time. If your current target is say a dragoon and they roar you well your not going to be doing much damage, so your better off switching to a new target helping pick up a different kill which will give your team the numbers advantage and as a result will make killing said dragoon easier. And to your point I think black mage is the best example of what I mean by this. Black mage is really strong when left alone and many people will just let them get away with everything rather than seeing the threat they are. People are much more likely to focus on the jobs that are in their faces like tanks, dragoons, or monks than the jobs that are really doing the damage.
I wish someone made a list of the limit breaks of everyone and like everything important to know about all the jobs. Im not trying to read every jobs tooltips, I just want a video to consume XD.
bad take on the 5:45. the only time its bad to focus is probably on a Tank(and NIN cause well, they just are broken OP class). They can mitigate alot. Focus firing is good and you say "wasting resources" no matter how good you are you do NOT know what your teammates CDs are like throughout the entire game so are inevitably going to waste resources in a non-efficient way.
When I talked about focusing I was more so talking about tunnel vision. It is why I used the guard example. A lot of new player will just keep attacking someone who is guarding wasting damage and abilities that are better spent on other people. I also noted that you shouldn't just ignore that person, and that you should switch back once there guard is gone to clean up the kill. My overall point was only focusing on a single person is not great because in doing so you may be losing out on other easier kills, or in chasing that enemy putting yourself in a bad enough position that you get yourself killed. When I mention wasting resources I was talking about your resources not your teams(point about the team was don't just ignore them help). There is no point in wasting hard hitting attacks or cc on someone that isn't really going to be effected by it.
I think I have one example it's bad to focus on one target. Yesterday I got this pld focusing on me(mch) the entire fight. He refused to let me go so I just kite him around while my party is busy pushing the crystal. He even used lb while chasing me even though I barely attack him at all. dnc join the pld but my party already fulfills our objective and we won. In the end, pld got no ko from chasing me. I got no ko too, but i got a victory and a chuckle 😂
@@sanomaly Yeah, and that kinda what I was trying to get across. Getting tunnel vision, not matter the game, will always increase your chances of losing.
@@gigabased4 you're right it depends on if the enemy has a brain or not. Stating this because of higher ranks will know what to do to avoid focus fire tactics.

If you helped your team focus on each target though it helps wipe them out fast and then there are less players to push crystal against.
