Awesome turbo prop. With 44,000lbs total thrust from all 4 turbo prop engines. It is the most powerful of it's kind. Cruising speed of around 485mph and a service ceiling dependent on it's payload of 31-40,000ft. It certainly is one helluva powerful prop plane.
RC can crash and that is expensive. The real thing will kill a crew of at least two persons. That is the only difference. This guy will kill his co pilot. Just wait for it. Too macho.

If he had shown the entire takeoff roll you would have seen why it was able to make that climb. It was held done on the runway building excessive speed before rotation.
@@CH-pv2rz you can also see this with bush planes (altough on a much smaller scale), they step on the brakes, let the propeller spin up and go. it's always amazing how much speed they can build up in a short time
An incredible plane, it flies like a fighter. It seems incredible that such a large plane is so agile and maneuverable, it could land on an aircraft carrier if it were not so wide.
The total wingspan is only 7 ft wider than a C130, and those have landed on an air craft carrier before. So I'd say it's possible the A400M could do it too.

Well for some tasks the A400 is already too big. Its actually closer to a C-17 than a C-130 in some aspects. That being said the larger A400 operators all also use or ordered the C-130

Airbus actually had won a bid against - I think it was Boeing - with these in the US. However, they were, well, not American. Thus no one of the Americal Military Complex could make money out of the taxpayers, the money would leave the country. So they threw away the old bid, made a new one tailored to exactly fit the Boeing-Aircraft.
Well the C-130 is another class in terms of size and capabilities. Actually France and Germany also use or will use C-140 in the future as a supplement to the A400

I noticed pairs of propellers rotating in different directions and thought, are they actually rotating in the same direction but at different speeds? But they visibly changed speeds in synchronisation, so I figured that wasn't it. So I looked it up and it's one of very few multi engine aircraft to utilise this. It makes perfect sense to do it (after learning about propwash), so why isn't this used far more often?

What's going on with the propellers looking like they are barely rotating and sometimes are full stopping. Surely that is because the camera shutter speed is matching the propellers rotation speed giving the effect of not spinning. It's amazing to see 👀 Ps I didn't know such a huge aircraft could take off and climb like that wow 😳

Perhaps more impressively it has about the same limiting Mach number as the WW2 Lockheed Lightning fighter.

You did not see the entire takeoff rub. It was much longer allowing the aircraft to build up speed for the steep rotation.

Recently watched this Plane repeatedly take off & land at Pembury Sands in Wales. Stunning aircraft.
An incredible plane, it flies like a fighter. It seems incredible that such a large plane is so agile and maneuverable, it could land on an aircraft carrier if it were not so wide.

A400M is much to heavy for an aircraft carrier. And the C-130 only had a 2 foot margin for its wings.

The Airbus A380 handles very much like the A400M. They just do not do it in service for the sake of the passengers.
