Damn, I'm with you. I love David's run so much I'd be perfectly willing to buy it both in Epic Collections AND omni format....would keep both. Take epics on trips to read and enjoy the omni's at home.
Omar, thank you so much for doing this. I saw some of those Peter David books at my local shop, but I didn't know about picking them up until I saw the art. I'll be heading to IST to get that Future Imperfect book.
I once asked Peter David who his favorite artist to work with was and his response was George Perez on Future Imperfect. It is one of the best Hulk stories ever told. Enjoy.
There is a real dearth of Hulk Omnibuses. I've got most of the Peter David Visionaries and Peter David Epic tpbs. They should really do some Peter David Omnibus collections though it's nice getting them cheaply with the Epic line. Since some of the Visionaries are getting pricey and are OOP, they either need to do an Omnibus or release some more Epic collections covering the issues the Visionaries do. And, yes, Sal Buscema is very underrated. I didn't appreciate his art until I got older. They never did a second John Byrne Hulk Visionaries because he only did six issues and quit over that Marvel Fanfare story getting rejected for the main title so that first volume collects all he did.
Smotlock it’s insane how popular his run is and it gets little love in the collected editions department. The John Byrne visionaries I was hoping they would collect his second run on the book that kicked off Volume 2. Which I’ll talk about next time. So now I’ll be waiting for that Epic.
@@NearMintCondition Ah, yeah. I was just thinking about the run where he did the art and writing. Wasn't thinking about volume two where he was just writing. Though they did collect it in a different format.
@@NearMintCondition I just checked and volume 5 of the Peter David Hulk Visionaries, which I don' t have, can not be found for less than 90 dollars on E-bay or used on Amazon. That is just freaking ridiculous. I do have the individual David and Keown issues as I was buying them as they came out and it was my favorite run of Hulk ever and possibly my favorite monthly at the time despite not being a big Hulk fan previously. Anyway, as likely the most popular run of the Hulk ever, at least during the McFarlane, Keown, and Frank runs, there is no reason why there should not be an Omnibus or three collecting this material.
I only got Incredible Hulk Pardoned, which was a great milestone story of the Hulk being pardoned for his rampaging past while he has the brain of Robert Bruce Banner, great story that was
Picked up some Hulk books so of course I'm rewatching these videos :) Part two is where I really need to pay attention. It's crazy thinking that since you made this we got 5 freaking Peter David omnis!!! Now c'mon Bruce Jones!! Never read any of that but heard nothing but good things.
I have the first 3 Matserworks of the Hulk plus Volume 6 and the Leader Lives Epic Collection but unfortunately I missed out on "In the Hands of HYDRA" and "Who Will Judge the Hulk?" before they got too expensive. I'd love to find them or even Matserworks 4-5 and 7-8 in decent condition at affordable prices. I did buy Crisis on Counter-Earth and will be sure to get any after that as soon as I can to make sure they don't go out of print. I also own the Heart of the Atom collection as well as various back issues. The high point of my Hulk collection is issues 269-448 collected over 16 graphic novels (Pardoned, Regression, Crossroads, the Going Gray Epic Collection, the Peter David Visionaries series and Epic Collections 19-22) except for #296 because that features Rom and Marvel can't reprint anything featuring him so it kind of doesn't count. It's the longest unbroken stretch of Marvel comics in my collection aside from fantastic Four 164-361 even if I only read up to 355 (I have the Epic Collection The New Fantastic Four), but those are spread out across graphic novels and copies of the original issues.
Rael that’s how I started this Reading comprehension lists. :) my love of X-men. I have three videos just for X-men. If you look at the channel you can find them that way or on the comic reading order playlist.
Thank you for the kind words. As far as X-23, there really isn't enough material other than when she becomes All New Wolverine. But perhaps I can talk about how all that fits in.
I want to read the Peter David run. But I won't get the epic collection until I'm able to get access from the beginning of his run. I bet you that by the time they do the epic from the start of David's run, the other books will be out of print. That almost happened to me with Claremont X-men
@@NearMintCondition I'm waiting for the reprint announcement for Power Mand and Iron Fist epic collection. Been wanting to grab that along with Iron Fist Epic
Just a sublime video, Omar. I LOVE when you do these videos. I always find out something new that I didn't know before. I agree with you that Marvel NEEDS to do Omnis of the Peter David run. David's run is, in my mind, second only to Chris Claremont in having superior storytelling over many, many years. I would really like you to do an X-Factor Reading Order video, I know that would be a popular video. Once again, I bow to your mastery of these videos, brother. A++++++++ #OmarRules
If they think a (Peter David) Hulk omnibus would not sell, they could at least publish a David & MCFARLANE Hulk omnibus! McFarlane always sells. Then they could stop or continue with a second volume, hoping that enough people would follow.
I see you had the Incredible Hulk omnibus volume 1. I’m wondering when they will do a omnibus volume 2! Like issues 103-151. And a volume 3, like issues 152-205, and so forth. Why is his silver age and Bronze Age, so far behind. Need to treat it like the amazing spider man omnibus series! What’s up here? You have any insights on this??
Great vid once again man. Just wanted to let you know there will never be a volume 2 to John Byrnes run because his run was only 6 issues. Al Milgrom took over the title until Peter David with issue 331 (or whichever is the first issue in your visionaries of PAD volume 1). If you can still find that Bryne Book, I recommend snagging it quick :) Have a wonderful day brother.

How insane or impossible would it be to make a DC Rebirth TPB reading order list/video? I know its technically hard to pinpoint times when things take place, but more or less based on release times. Like, so you know what all to read before monster men or Metal, or things like that. I know I like to read every TPB in "order". I found someone who made a Rebirth reading order list by issue, and I have done my best turning that into a TPB reading order spreadsheet (which I would be more than happy to share with you and hear your thoughts on it).
@@NearMintCondition I've been trying to do that, but there is just so many events, and series that spin out of another, or sometimes spins out of two. I almost find it easier to read them in release order, but that may just be me
Hey Omar I have to say my Hulk Epic Collection vol.2 is excellent..its vol.3 the Leader Lives that has major issues. Its a Quad Graphics book and probably the worst...well no Avengers West Coast vol.1 is the worst quality wise

When i started reading comics what i found confusing was knowing what to read before big events. What do you read before civil war or annihiltation? Should you read Geoff Johns green lantern after or before infinite crisis. I think required reading before big events would be an interesting topic, not just for beginners, especially if you can keep it simple. I grew up reading french comics but started reading American comics seriously right before the new 52. I remember finding it super confusing. I wish your videos were available back then. Of course i would have been contaminated by your irrational hate of Bendis but that's a different story.
Joe Chip hahahahaha that one always comes back to bite me. To each their own, my brother. I like Rob Liefeld :) sooo we all have our Achilles heel. But you seriously brought up something I can work on. The DC events.. how to prep you. I did that for Maddie and Amanda for our Infinity Crisis read.... no reason I couldn’t do it for a video.

Dylan Brown not terribly bad, but I always recommend reading individual series by themselves. But start with the one shot.
@@NearMintCondition I've been trying to do that, but there is just so many events, and series that spin out of another, or sometimes spins out of two. I almost find it easier to read them in release order, but that may just be me
There is no Bryne Visionary Vol 2 because he only wrote about six issues after swapping with Mantlo.
He came back to the series with chapter one. Surprised they didn’t go the visionaries route
sweet I love these vids keep it up man love bro dude you check mitis he is an amziang dubstep artist and you should check out keen nation
scoundrel gaming super heroes are my life thank you and I plan on checking it out!
Hey Omar I have to say my Hulk Epic Collection vol.2 is excellent..its vol.3 the Leader Lives that has major issues. Its a Quad Graphics book and probably the worst...well no Avengers West Coast vol.1 is the worst quality wise
Yeah... the quality seemed to have changed wen it went to that particular volume. Future releases give me hope.
A Moon Knight one would be great
If I still had them, I would. I sold off my MK sets last year.
@@NearMintCondition *gasps* blasphemy!!!
@@DarkAngelAniki Well, my rationale was: Surely we'll get some great collections in omni and Epic format by NOW. :)
@@NearMintCondition well there are epics now and I'd LOVE an omni cause he deserves it. Just don't see it happening sadly ;_;
Same here....but we can dream right?
Onslaught really did break everything.
YES!!!
Why Epic Collection over Omnibus?
JTwoH because I knew they wouldn’t continue a second or third Omnibus and I really love the Epics. Now if they do Peter David’s or the rest of Greg Pak’s run... all over it!
Gotcha!
Do any of these include 181?
Not yet, but that can be found along with 180 in several collections including the new printing of Wolverine Omnibus volume 1.
Love you videos Omar! Please do a reading orde for HellBoy and his universe 🐲😈
I can do that. I mainly get the Library Editions and Hardcovers, but I can for sure work on a way to make everyone aware of the reading order..
@@NearMintCondition cool! Because the universe is sooooo diverse with abe, bprd, slegdehammer 44, lobster johnson, etc. Would be helpful! Thanks! (From the Netherlands :-)
Much love from America back at you in the Netherlands. I will definitely do that sometime in the future. :)
@@NearMintCondition ❤📽
RED SONJA OMNIBUS!
One day, brother. But we get our first Gail Simone collection in OHC!!
No John Byrne Vol:2 because he only did those issues.
The John Byrne visionaries I was hoping they would collect his second run on the book that kicked off Volume 2 with Garney. Which I’ll talk about next time. So now I’ll be waiting for that Epic.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I wish they would finish the epics on certain characters. I quit buying them because I have a feeling they will never complete them.
Which format? Because the Epics will. It will just take some time.
@@NearMintCondition guess I'm not patient. Seems like its taking forever. Plus I wish they would do epics of ghost rider.
I get it. But I've also been waiting for Wolvie omnibus volume 2 for 10 years now. :)
Glad you called yourself an idiot. You know how I hate being rude and wouldn't want to call you that myself, but if it moo's it must be a cow. LOL Thx Omar, love me some Hulk action. Have a great day.
Comic Guy have a good one, dood! :)
NMC Patreon only $1 per month.
Omar, are you paying $40 for the Epic book? Homie, I always pay between $18-$21 and you can't complain for that price.
No my dood, I was mainly talking about the retail price. I get them from IST. Unless they go out of print like the recent ones I did a video on.
Near Mint Condition yeah...IST is insane, I haven't missed a single week of getting the extra 2% off and I started shopping their summer of 2013. My first book was Amazing Spiderman Vol 2 omnibus. Btw... love your videos.
Thank you so much for the kind words. :) I think my first order I looked at my records was 2003. Man, that was a long time ago. :)
Omnis are better than epics
Those visionaries go for such stupid prices.
Heretic !! Sold some of your Hulk?!! :) Thanks for the video. edit 25:35... Not digging the art at all. Everything before that was great
I know i know.... but I did get them back in Epic format.
