    Love the video bro great information I love when said that you have to have patients to cook on an offset otherwise get a pellet smoker ha ha so true it’s a lot of work but so rewarding after all the efforts payoff with good eats 👍 keep making great videos on that Beautiful smoker can’t wait to get my 1975

      It’s true...I have both and everytime I start a cook I look at both smokers and debate for 30-45 minutes which one I will use today... stick burner wins 70% of the time ...thank you for watching 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

    I watched one of your lamb smokes and ordered a Workhorse 1969, now I watched this video and decided a Workhorse 1975 with Cowboy Grill was a better way to go, so I changed my order. You're costing me a lot of money.

    Man your wood collection is incredible you must have been working on that for awhile very impressed I’m cooking a brisket tomorrow and I have a kindling spitter like you have I was on the patio for at least an hour and a half getting prepped for tomorrow mornings cook I can’t wait I have an old country for right now until I get my 1975 don’t know if you’re cooking this weekend but I would love to see your technique On cooking some ribs just a suggestion have a good weekend

      thank you for watching... prep is key and I had a pecos as well prior to 1975.. worked well, but its day and night difference compare to 1975.for the wood ,every time there is free wood on the FB market place I'll snag it and store it.i have a beef rib plate video made and will publish it some times next week. thank you for watching.

    Beautiful done video! There's a lot of videos about fire management but once they start the coal bed they just stop filming. Although the coal bed is 50% of the work done the rest is also important! Log placement and friction between the logs matter too. Thank you for taking the time and I'm so glad I subscribed to you.

    Nice video man. I also have a WH1975. What I have learned through time is when my coal needs another log, I like to split my coal bed in half to allow oxygen I'm the middle and catches fire immediately and clean!

    Awesome videos. I’ve watched most of yours. Got me to pull the trigger on a 1969. Got it last week. Do you typically cook with the side door of the firebox open the entire time? Just looking for a few more pointers based on your experience to try and maintain 275 or so in the cool chamber. Great work. Thanks.

      I do leave the door slightly open if I need a good flow…other than that I just leave the dumper open

    charcoal ? Seems like it would be easier.

      I save charcoal for grilling, i don't pay for wood ...so it's only right to use it to start the fire.

    Good video. I was wondering if you could post or send pics of the inside of the cook chamber fire box transition. I'm currently trying to modify a pit I currently own. The stack end I have worked out with a collector stack combination
    Currently the configuration of n my pit is a baffle angled down, it's definitely restricting convection and diverting heat and smoke down. Any help would be appreciated.

    What is the splitter tool you were using at the beginning for the kindling called, or do you remember where you got it? I would love something compact like that to split smaller pieces.

      It’s called kindling cracker..you ‘ll find it at northern tool if you have one near you..they always have them on sale.or try online .it comes in two sizes. I m using the small one m.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200647343_200647343

    Is there a big difference in speed of getting a coal bed with using lump charcoal to get the fire started vs using wood like you do? I guess I'm asking why not start the fire woth lump charcoal first.

      it works great (charcoal or briquets )that's another option .. I just have a lot of wood and don't want to waste charcoal for that

    Great Video! I was wondering are there any challenges with building the fire on the bottom of the firebox vs building it on a grate so it's elevated? And how do you manage the ashes in the firebox when you build the fire at the bottom of the fire box?

      I think having a fire grate would work great I still have to try that ...in my case I do clean up the firebox after every cook so the build up is not too big it’s not a problem And it won’t affect my fire management 🙏🏽🙏🏽thank you for watching

      zero...with thicknes like that (3/8) ,you have to start a 1000F+ fire to damage the steel... I think

      I never measured it to be honest ... it seems like 1/4 of the firebox diameter which is 24 inch.. thats just my guess

      It depends on size …once you get the hang of…you can just eyeball it..it’s usually 30-45 minutes a smoker this size

      @@terranceholley3629 no I have a small bucket and it fits just right on the storage rack underneath the drain. but you can do the 45 and drain it on a bigger bucket on the floor.honestly a 12 hours cook did not fill a small bucket of grease
