It's an honour to receive compliments from the Irish, masters of this wonderful game. I'm confident we'll get some respect on Sunday too. Forza ragazzi
Thought the ref robbed ye of a penalty at those final 2 scrums. The future of Italy is bright
Ye have a great young team on the horizon and omg year number 14 is unbelievable , ye definitely deserved the win we just got lucky but ye played the best, Italian rugby has grown in confidence in the last 2 years it's great to see.
Ye have a good fucture
Italy always has our respect, one day and I believe sooner than most think, Italy is suddenly going to burst onto the world stage.
They have the players, they just need a little bit more belief in themselves and they also have great fans.
Keep the faith Italy 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just when you think the Italian 14 is just speed and strength he throws a lovely offload out the back, absolutely class, great to see Italy playing so well, hopefully they can translate it into senior rugby and get a couple of wins this year, it’s certainly possible
Complimenti per la tua previsione ❤😅, l’Italia ha vinto con Scozia 🏴 e Galles 🏴!!!👍👍✌️
This is great for the future of the 6N…Forza Italia!
well done lads. the Italian 14 is a beast
Scalabrin was robbed of man of the match, he had 2 tries, one assist and a try save. He deserved it.
He was clearly the best player i
on the pitch a farce really , the broadcasters do it for the quick interview but it should not be called man/ player of the match. Home player of the match really.
They always give man of the match to the winning team I agree and I'm Irish..
Yeah, he was easily the best player. They always give it to the home team and O'Connor was quite good to be fair. But not as good as Scalabrin that's for sure!
I'm Irish and lad hugely robbed
Yep, no argument from an Irish fan, he saw off four defenders for the assist, special player and Italy have some good talent coming through the Benetton system.
Great display from Italy. We were lucky. Good stock for Italy going forward
Great to see Italy really stepping up
Hopefully they can maintain
Italian rugby is definitely on the up they are starting to produce some real quality, they were probably the better team on the evening.
Well done Italy. You definitely deserved to win that game, big improvement in the last two years, the future is looking good, 👏👏👏
As an Ireland fan. We were lucky. Italy played really well but we were very poor defensively.
Scalabrin is pretty special.
Him and Gallorini have already shirts booked for the senior team. They both have an immense talent.
@@epsilonbeta4877 Not surprised! So good!
Bravissimo Italia delli cugini d'Otralpe ❤😊
BRAO grazie 👍🇮🇹😜🏉
To ghe rèzú.👍
The third Italian try was absolute class. What an offload!
The offload was class but the try was not because the defence was shockingly bad! Ireland players just walking around not willing to put in an effort for their teammates very disappointing!
@@alanfinn77 I thought the Italians made the try, they had hands on him and even closed the space to barely nothing. Had no one got a hand on them then perhaps it wouldn’t have been impressive
@@mcc5901 The hand off was very nice very skilful but Ireland had more than enough players back to stop it happening if they had shown a bit more urgency and desire to get back around! Not knocking the Italians at all but Ireland from a position of superiority allowed the opposition back into the game.
Sean Edogbo looks like a devestating player. Speed and power...what a finisher. He took off and nothing was stopping him.
His brother is not bad as well
@@shane-irish oh I have been a fan of Edwin ever since I first saw him in a Munster shirt 👍😊 he has been immense for Munster and its a real shame he was injured recently. A big prospect for Ireland in the future 😊
Referee great impact player for Ireland in the last 10 minutes
😅😅😅
What a venue for 20s, perfect size and crowd.
Italy are good u20 side.remember they beat sa in world cup.? French irish english italy u 20 sides are very competitive..this was not a suprise..this was the birth of a true Italian legend.what a player wow .well done to both team,s.good game.
Great to see the Italians on the up. Irish supporter.
I thought Italy were the better team tonight.
They were I don’t know how they did a Scotland and clutch defeat from the jaws of victory
Definitely
Agree
They were unlucky. Great to see them playing so well though
Absolutely agree
Ireland we’re extremely lucky tonight
You make your own luck
Great Italy, we are proud of your performance lads!
What a crowd in Ireland!
A wonderful game, for an ealthy and fighting 6N
❤️🇮🇹🏉
P.s.
The Referee was very poor, especially in the last 8/10 minutes, the scrum was a joke at the end. So sad for the italian guys, they deserve the win imo.
Italian Rugby is going to be in a good place vome 2027
The Italian U20 side has been decent for years. The problem is by the time the 6N U20 squads graduate to the senior side, the other teams have been suppemented by high quality imported players from NZ and SA, whereas Italy's hasn't.
Italy suffer because SA, NZ and Aus don't have many rugby players with an Italian grandparent and the Italian club competition doesn't pay enough to atttact top level young foreign players who qualify on residency.
Brex and Varney ares decent player, but not at the same level as Gibson-Patk, Aki, Lowe or van der Merwe.
Mmmh not sure about that, the big problem with Italian rugby is the lack of a competitive professional local league, our top league is semi-prodessional full of Argentinians and Saffas, our youth players the have to hope to get a contract with Zebre or Benetton to continue improving and to get into professional rugby. The ones who don't get contracted by Zebre and Benetton, if they want to keep paying professionally the try to their luck in low level French teams, in Top 14 or pro D2, but the thing is that very often they play very few minutes in France, and so consequently they don't get selected by the senior national team like it happened for Mey, Odiase, or Gallorini...
@@blackflamesolutions526 Completely ridiculous
Very frustrating to watch Ireland tonight , italy played very well i think they deserved the win after that game😐
Harsh.
Edogbo brothers are going to be great!
They look very powerful
Especially Sean gee
Ireland have incredible depth now
From the senior team to U20 and lower
It's exciting to see it
And to think we are such a small rugby playing nation
Fact
Well done Italy, great performance tonight.
So cool that former Munster prop Pucciariello’s son is playing outside half for Italy.
So glad he had a good game at this venue. His dad was there in the stand with a few of his Irish friends.
But too bad he wasn't on the field anymore at the very end. Italy clearly needed his foot at that time.
The Edogbo brothers....beasts
Some shocking mistakes from the Irish who looked like a 'team' of 15 individual players for most of the match! Very very lucky to scrape the win!!!
Wow! How good were Italy. Ireland were lucky.
Ref refusing to blow his whistle when the irish were constantly not moving away during the last 5 minutes. Italy destroyed the irish scrum but were not rewarded.
Ref always protects Ireland. Last week it was the same thing against France..Italy desserves this Victory. It was the best team..I feel sorry for them..Shame on those refs 😡😡
Wasn't the ref French this time? That's the sad thing. Ireland play on the fact that our sport has no rules but laws and the ref supposedly "cannot see nor penalise everything". In tense situations they accumulate marginal infractions and the refs decide to ignore them but the added up negative impact is there... Cynical. 😤🤬
@@AuxaneST Who ever ref is it doesn't matter. I don't care about the nationality. Refs must be equal in their decisions. It's not the case😥😥
@@french.blackdevil1967( Ref always protects Ireland. Last week it was the same against France) . Realisation the ref was French this week. ( I don't care about nationally. Ref's must be equal in their decisions. ) I truly ❤️ this
Immediately draft that 14 into men's 6N side haha!
..along with other winger Elettri too. They’ll be giving young Louis Lynagh a run for his money in the near future
Wow, awesome from Italy🎉 that lock is amazing. Come play for the Chiefs in NZ lol. Congrats Ireland ♡
Italy were very unlucky and played some lovely rugby!
Grande match. Azzurri precisi e brillanti. Non meritavano di perdere.
A ta pöt dí a giuro👍🏉🇮🇹
Some great play from the Italian youngsters, if they can carry this into the test side they're future looks bright 👍
Belloooooooo! Bravi gli azzurriNi ❣️
That Italian 14 is one to watch …
That try at the end👊🤯 sean a machine
Maybe it would be a good thing to give each team a player of the match, but can't disagree with Scalabrin as "the" player of this match.
From an Ireland fan, Italy definitely deserved the win, we were all over the place and were lucky to score last minute. Well played Italy 🇮🇹👏🙌
Well played lads. Both teams. Great game.
sono orgoglioso della prestazione... ma sn arrabbiatissimo perché potevamo chiuderla cn un drop nei minuti finali... 🇮🇹
Lo speravo anch'io.👍👏🇮🇹
Greatgame I really enjoyed it. The big italian was tremendous. Two great tries. And the great winning try from the sub.❤
Really must say italy is just diffirent really they do deserve a win well done italy team you guys are doing well and very much approved team well done nice to see you play
Marco Scalabrin is an interesting prospect. He deserves a chance in the senior international Italian team.
iTALY have some very powerful players!! which Ireland had huge problems taking down.
The future of Ireland is and it will always be the foreing player they can hire
utter garbage, only 3 players for the senior team qualified on residency..
Well done Italy! I hope Italy keeps playing like this - they will be winning games.
Italy have demonstrated here their absolute merit and playing performance. As I understand it, they've had a run of bad luck. Here's now hoping they can and will be able to deliver a good victory or two. Well done Italy! Keep up the courageous play!
I’m Irish but that scalabrin fella is unreal
Defensively an absolute shambles ..
We have 2 Edogbos!!! Huge young fella with wheels
Italy should have won this game, no doubt about it.
Must say the refereeing was very insufficient in the last minutes, really too bad
Honor to Ireland from Italy
Looks like Marco Scalabrin had us apart last night, Italian rugby has been taking leaps and bounds this last season, hopefully we will start to see the Italians rise in the next few years, would only bring more excitement to the tournaments
Number 20 looks a big player. Possibly a player could be a senior cap
number 20 has an older brother by the name of edwin edogbo who plays for munster, hes a unit as well.
Have to agree with many of the comments below, and would have had no argument if Italy had won. This looked like a different team entirely to the calm, composed team that beat France away last weekend (and there were a good few personnel changes). The defence and tackling by Ireland were - sorry, there is other way to say it - quite shockingly bad. Richie Murphy has been an outstanding coach for this team for several years now, so who am I to criticise him. But one has to wonder why Ireland tried to win this game through the forwards when the Italians were so huge and so dominant in the scrum. Ireland wasted so much time in the Italian 22 trying to bully their way past excellent defenders and much bigger men. Why was the strategy not to run the legs off such big players through the backs? Ben O' Connor was absolutely superb in every facet of his game (unlike others who were heroes last weekend), but I agree that an Italian should have been MoTM.
Completely agree with you, our defence was shocking, there was no defence! Ben o Connor was the only one who stood out in that game on the Irish team. Richie Murphy was definitely not happy with that game , we might have one but we just got lucky , it was very frustrating to watch. Italy played great rugby , great to see.
Absolutely well done Italy. You were the better team by a mile. Ireland looked like they'd decided they'd won the game when the draw was made. They managed the game in the end. But perhaps spent 75 mins with their egos out of control....
I was at that match!
These highlights don't show it but reading the live updates yesterday, Italy had a real chance to go for a drop goal to win it at the end but nobody tried it.
Amazing try from Edogbo don’t know why he didn’t start
Scalabrin … wow !
Lucky win. That was meant to be Italy’s
Again we were very very close. So gutted!
Scalabrin a great prospect for Italy.
How good were Italy 💪 However, looks like this young Irish team are in the habit of winning, even when they are not at their best
To tell all the truth Italy's U20's been showing much talent in last 2/3 past season, so what's the news about these yuongsters performing good ?
Fair play too italy and well done ireland
Congrats Ireland, but very poor ref in last minutes...
Ireland made hard work of it, Italy showed some good guts. But the champs found a way.
It's getting ordinary that Italy palys an incredible and wonderful match, close to who master the Rugby World but we do not win. That's the only bad side of supporting Azzurri.
Ooh! Dear, not good re Ireland. Italy should have won.
but they didn’t, Ireland deserve some credit there..
That was too close for comfort 😬😬
Phew !
Lucky dudes
Ireland flattered to deceive tonight, don’t think this is a team that will be repeating the grand slam heroics unless Gleeson recovers tbh
“Italy aren’t making any progress, they don’t deserve to be in the 6 nations”
Meanwhile we will be waiting the progress of Georgia. 😅
@@ducapelli they’re not worth it
@@ducapelli As Italian, Italy should stay but Georgia is becoming a good team
Got out of jail BIG TIME!!
Italy better team, I thought Ireland were vpoor.
We won. And some of that is about belief. In a few years time Italy will come right. But they lack confidence and should have closed Ireland down. Terrible defensive work by Ireland
Italian scrum was monsterous. Ireland were way off the pace and kept giving the Italians in the game by making mistakes/missed tackles. Ireland got over the line in a maul and dropped it for a knock forward. Not typical at all.
Hugh Gavin won't be loving those hand-offs. Once unlucky, twice seems careless.
Italy U20 almost beat Irelandf U20, yet their senior side will be thrashed.
What's the difference? Why are Italy competitive at U20 level, then fall away at senior level?
Might it have something to do with the fact that the Ireland, Scotland senior squads are supplemented with some of the best U20 players from the Southern Hemisphere? While Italy just don't get the same quality of foreign import as their league doesn't pay as much and there aren't so many South African and New Zealander young rugby stars with an Italian grandparent?
yes but not only. U20 and Senior rugby are really 2 different worlds. Even if Italy managed to develop some good young players through their academies, these youngsters really need some good amount of quality game time and coaching to take the next big steps. And in Italy sadly, the sport is really tiny and there's not much outside of the 2 URC franchises since the domestic league is to this day not competitive enough and don't offer necessarily good perpectives for young guys who want to keep on with professional rugby.
No, you seem very obsessed with pushing that agenda.
Ireland missed 25% of all tackles tonight, Ben O Connor was some loss to Cork Hurling, Italy deserved to win probably, Irish scrum half had a nightmare and the scrum was not at the races at all
Best team on the night lost ,Ireland got out of jail.
Close 🏉 good Win *Ireland*
Ils ont eut chaud aux miches nos amis irlandais
Very sloppy display from Ireland who thought they would just turn up and get the result! Italy showed that in rugby you need to turn up and perform no matter who the opposition is!
De Klerk on Ireland? Hmm...
Lots of mistakes
Italy looked the better unit. Ireland need to work on alot. Tough but good game of rugby. Italy are finally finding great players for the future 👏
Someday someone shall have to explain to me why we must ALWAYS be robbed by one-sided refereeing when we play against home unions team.
Gee Ireland were very incoherent
The Italians look very fluid
But a win is a win
Ireland won end of story, not a great performance they looked tired, bunching, bad kicking, bad tackling, bad marking, discipline poor but they won no bonus try? Sean o Odogba and his brother Edwin watching him score when he came on for Irish under 20Awesome well done made the difference between winning and loosing!
Maybe but they had an extra day's rest over the Italy lads i think.
Ireland were poor, Italy better team
Stolen victory, Ref was in green Jersey.
Hard to believe this is the same Irish side that played against France. Totally off the ball and such weak defence.
Ngl, italy were better
Shouty commentator.
Ireland outmuscled
