Hey there Robin, I remembered you doing this video months ago, and I'm giving it a second round once again. It worked beautifully for me the first time. However, I don't think I did the alcohol ink part, so will try that along with the rusty goodies. I'm in Michigan and it's snowing outside, so I put them on parchment paper above the refrigerator for a week or so. Last time, that worked perfectly. Thanks for demoing this for your rabid viewers!

Looks like such fun! I went and ordered the book. I don’t have any rust or alcohol inks so I will try paint and a few other things and see what I get! Excited to try it!! Oh and YES! I have partially used and new planners that are out of date now…! Lots of them… 😂
That sounds great Laurette. I think using paint with a little water and vinegar should work, it dosen't hurt to try.

RR Tie is the big wooden rectangles they use under the tracks. You have a RR spike and a horseshoe with horseshoe nails. Sorry my Dad would have a cow if I didn't let you know that LOL

This is a great start to this series. I'm excited to see your reveal. I have rusty items, most that I rusted myself, not sure if they will work like this but going to try and I hate to say no day planner or a journal that I don't use. I do have several ledgers that I can choose from though. Looking forward to the next lesson in making this journal.
Looking forward to watching the step by step of making the journal. Steel wool can be easily rusted with vinegar and placed on fabrics etc too. How well will the rusted fabrics etc hold up in the journal? Does she mention that?

With the alcohol ink, you might have done better using alcohol instead of water.
Water worked fine. I’ve tried alcohol on fabric and it evaporates too quickly and dose’nt spread any color

You know just because you can’t have an on-person face to face craft show is no reason to “boo-hoo”🙂, think outside the box right? Why not have a “virtual craft show” almost similar to your craft shows, maybe like a “zoom craft show” where people can see your “works” ... go to your site and purchase” at the the time of the show... pay to attend? Many artists are going zoom, stageit, virtual due to the current conditions...it’s just some ideas🤷🏻♀️💜🦋

That is frustrating. sometimes you can click the gear icon in the bottom right of the video and change the speed . hope that helps.
