Nottingham used to be an old haunt of mine. When you return I can recommend visiting Wollaton Park, a deer park and small stately home on the outskirts of the city. Deer herds roaming free in front of you all year round in extensive grounds.
I thought the same, she looks great, I DID NOT look this good when I was pregnant, 🙂 thank-you for doing these videos. I love how you love our country 💚
Well done. Despite several dozen visits to England across 65 yrs, including six years at school there, I've never been to Nottingham. So, thanks for the tour of an interesting place I shall not now see in this lifetime.
God bless y'all..thoroughly enjoyed the video..I'm born and bread in Nottingham..sneinton...Nottingham castle is a great place to visit when open..also brew house yard..very interesting..
I've been looking forward to finally seeing your full Nottingham video, and it didn't disappoint! I've lived in Nottingham for nearly a decade now, and you've almost managed to make a visit to the city centre look appealing! 😂
Welcome to my home city, glad you enjoyed it. The building at 1.48 was designed by Watson Fothergill a Nottingham architect who built many beautiful buildings in and around the city.
Hello great to see positive videos about Nottingham, I worked in the city centre for 28 years and yes Nottingham is a stunning city centre BUT if enjoy the night life always go in a group as the city is more dangerous at night due to the closure of central station a few years ago but is slowly improving.
I lived and worked in Nottingham in the late 1960's. Some of the city center has change but i was familliar with most of the streets. Only a short distance from the city center is Nottingham Castle with the statue of Robin Hood in front of it. Also under and built into the hill of the castle is one of the oldest pubs in England, It is Ye olde trip to Jerusalem which claims to be founded in 1189. It has a number of caves in it.
Thank you for sharing it is much appreciated. Theses city visits inspire me so much they make me want to visit them with my family as some of them I have yet to visit. Family looking wonderful as always 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Mac and Blair thank you for sharing your experience of visiting Nottingham with everyone. I’ve offered a few tips of places to go for you in the past and now you’re returning the favour. I’ve never been to this corner of England before and the beauty and variety of Nottingham was a revelation. I really loved the ambiance and vibe of it. I’ll definitely go for a visit one day. Thank you both very much 🙏🏻
Another great video and a city dear to my heart because of my support for a great soccer team from the city Nottingham Forest. After Robin Hood they are the most famous item to come from Nottingham with a great history. You must visit the City Ground on your next visit.
Wonderful video, I want to visit Nottingham it looks beautiful.. you said about taking the children to more caves.. if you ever travel to Somerset, I think you’d like Cheddar Gorge and Caves.
Hi Mac and Blair and your 4 kids i live in Birmingham and have never been to Nottingham so this video gives me some idea of what Nottingham is like and what places there are to visit and places to eat. Your kids are having such great life experiences they will grow up with such memories of places around the world. Also when you have the 6 kids "in tow" they will also grow up to have the same life experiences. You are such great parents and so loving as parents should be ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@MacandBlair My neighbour (born in Ireland) around 1939/40 came to England in the mid 50’s to work for the buses and had 6 kids. Their eldest daughter had 8 kids and she bought a Mercedes Vito Van to ‘ferry’ her children to school as it had enough room for car seats for the kids They are in their late 20’s and early 30’s now Time flies and it’s all about making memories ♥️♥️👍 👍 🤩🤩🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧
The bell you referred to above the arcade is called Little John and sounds like Big Ben in the Elizabeth Tower at the Palace of Westminster. The BBC use it for the occasions when they would broadcast the chimes of Big Ben but that clock is not functioning.
I've lived in Nottingham for 4 years now after leaving London, and one thing I've noticed is that Friday-Sunday it is so hard to find a table in a restaurant or pub without pre-booking. The place is constantly packed! I love London, but Nottingham feels like a concentrated version of London. There are so many good places to eat and drink, and all within a few minutes walk of each other.
Thanks for this video. It's good how you show us these places that don't feature on TH-cam like say Paris. I've now seen more of Nottingham than in my whole life. If I get the chance this summer I'd like to do a visit of the East Midlands and visit Nottingham,a day trip will do me and a few other places round about. I've never had any reason to go to this part of England but in April 2022 I had a coach holiday, our base was Retford,a place I'd never heard of,it's charming and from it you can get to South Yorkshire,Lincolnshire,Derbyshire,Nottinghamshire in a circle all about. I stayed on and was able to visit a friend who lives near Rotherham. You would all like Retford. Robin Hood went on a retraining scheme in the 1980s,he's more business orientated now.
@@MacandBlair I thought so! Trust you all enjoyed the celebrations. Next year come to London. The whole of Central London is taken over for the occasion!
As an artist, I would like to implore and encourage your kids to express themselves artistically. Learning new skills can be frustrating, but eventually that pays off.....no 2 artists are the same we all find a style which suits our tastes, both mentally and aesthetically...... there are no rules in art, and despite what anybody else says, there is no wrong or right way to get things done....art is subjective in both production and finish.
First of all, sorry to ruin the mystery but behind the creepy door is a pretty nice cocktail bar 😂 if you visit us again be sure to check out The Olde Trip and The Bell if you like old pubs and if you venture out of the city centre, Wollaton Hall and Highfields are well worth a visit. I’m glad you enjoyed Nottingham 😁
The castle and the castle grounds are not currently open to the public and is likely to remain that way until the summer and possibly longer. Please check before visiting.
Interesting to see the home town of my adult life through overseas eyes. St Peters and St Mary's are worth visits. The Lace Market has interesting architecture particularly The Adams Building. Paul Smiths designer shop. Nottingham contemporary art gallery, next to the caves entrance. Nottingham University campus is picturesque. Well worth checking out tge River Trent Embankment, bridges and sports grounds of Noyts County Nottingham Firest and Trent Bridge International cricket venue.
Rebellion city ! Loud n proud ! And you walked by the Brian Clough statue for China
Sometimes I live vicariously through these videos. So uplifting in many ways.
Nottingham used to be an old haunt of mine. When you return I can recommend visiting Wollaton Park, a deer park and small stately home on the outskirts of the city. Deer herds roaming free in front of you all year round in extensive grounds.
That sounds great! Thanks for the suggestion.
That’s a good shout, It was also used for Wayne manor in the modern Batman movies
Nottingham is home ! Superb city!
Blair you are positively blooming. Your children are so well behaved . Love and blessings to you all ❤

Was it Chinese New Year? It looks like it. We really celebrate it in the UK. In London, it's a big thing.

@@MacandBlair I thought so! Trust you all enjoyed the celebrations. Next year come to London. The whole of Central London is taken over for the occasion!
Bills is a great chain, when I’m in any city in the Uk I always check out if they have a bills.

The castle is closed... wish I could have made it through...
