Hystorically bedtime stories used to be super scary and were used to scare kids into behaving. Its only a relatively recent development that they become "child friendly". So yeah I would say this is more in the spirit of what bedtime stories have been for ages.
Bacterial meningitis and rocky mountain spotted fever are both extremely severe diseases. As in, the kind that kill people even with treatment. It's no so much a "flare up" as a medical emergency that becomes irrevocably lethal in less than 24hrs. Although I suppose everything that is lethal is also irrevocable.
We also have a house that birds just love flying into for some reason, we have only lived in my house for like a year and prob have seen 50 birds die of ramming into our windows

Wow that second story is absolute nightmare. I'm a female cosplayer, I dress up and wear bright wigs, attracting everyone's attention. Oh no I was approached by somebody, probably attracted by my flashy costume and wig! Jesus Christ how horrifying!
Well, that last story didn't scare me much. I've been in the hospital since the 22nd of Feb. Last November my body decided it didn't need my platelets to stick together anymore so my immune system started eating the protein that holds them together. Turns out I have a 2-10\million autoimmune disease that is super deadly that almost killed me once, and then tried again on the 22nd... so I'm back again. I have to have blood transfusions, and because they are apparently not working well enough to keep the platelets from crashing only a few months later, I have to have a new treatment. I still got my specialized transfusions (Plasma exchange) but I am also on a cell changing infusion thing that is also supposed to potentially help the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis I was born with. I'm hoping that I can go home Tomorrow, but no one has said anything at all, so it's not looking promising. I have tubes in my chest that connect right to a major artery too, and I get to go home with them! They can hopefully come out when my new infusion treatment is over. :) Point? I can't be afraid of hospitals.
mrbrilla I agree with you on the sick one, but as for the one with the old man I can definitely see why that’s terrifying. I know feminism has gotten annoying know but being a woman being approached by a much older man who’s almost on top of you when you can’t even get up is scary.
The story about the girl who almost fainted is awful. It sounds as though the old guy was asking her if she needed water because she seemed faint or whatever. Imagine getting scared because someone walked up to you. Lol

I was trying to allusively hint the idea of what religion does psychologically for people, for good people. I've always thought practiced religion ( mostly Christian, Greek, or certain Egyptian religions ) psychologically brings a good type of morality to a community or even to ones character but of course I failed to explain much. I definitely did not and CAN NOT explain it well enough and it would probably take a damn book to do it and I'm definitely no Jordan B Peterson. Anyways, touché.
