You have such a great energy. This is year 19 for me. I am encouraged when I hear folks in the game for a while are still positive. Thanks! Have a successful school year!1
Love watching your videos. I also teach 4th grade and love to get new ideas each year. Thanks for sharing and love the idea for the cursive crate for early finishers.
I had a tent that I got from Amazon for $30 that I had when I taught Head Start. It was mainly for looks in 4th grade, but I had 2 kids that would need it to calm. It had "windows" so I could still check in on them. I had a timer for it, but no one ever went over 5 minutes. On birthdays or meeting goals, they could get a ticket to do work on a lapboard in the tent, too. I'm not doing it this year so I can rearrange my library. I will use a calming kit, which is a cute canvas container where I keep stress balls (a Pokémon ball and a d20), quiet fidgets, and some bubblers.
You will NOT be disappointed with the Frog Tape. I just purchased my roll for this year. Two years ago I purchased birthday farm animals at Target. I finally used them this past year, and the kids loved it! The Birthday Chicken 🐓 was the primary animal, but I had a Birthday Cow 🐄 and a Birthday Horse for those days with multiple birthdays. I can't believe how close the time is getting.
Great finds! Would you mind sharing the cursive resource you mentioned for student names? My district is embracing cursive next year for upper elementary and I’m excited to teach it!
I'm excited to teach it as well! Here's the link: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Editable-handwriting-worksheet-for-name-practice-DNealian-cursive-8513074
Thanks for all the great ideas! How do you store headphones in the classroom? My students use them at least once a day with their Chromebooks, so I'm looking for a quick way for them to access headphones. They're too big for their desks. Thanks!
I'm actually still trying to figure that out. I'm thinking of getting the headphone organizer from this website, but it's a little pricey, so I haven't fully made a decision. teachertechtags.com/
For border, I only buy rolled ones now! You can cut to exact measurements of your boards! Don't have to worry about shipping.
This is so smart! Definitely will go this route if I need to order border again.

Thanks! I try...some years are better than others, but I'm usually always excited about a new school year!
Yes I love frog tape for center blocks
Good to hear another person say it works!! Can't wait to try!

Yay! Thank you! I'm hoping the cursive works out this year...I'll keep ya posted!

Oh the tent is a nice idea...a little privacy when needing to calm down.

Can't wait to use the tape! And I love the birthday farm animals, such a cute idea!

@@msrachelvincent Thank you!
Our district requires us to have a calm down area for all grades
I kind of love that! Do they provide resources as well?

Nice stuff!! We get absolutely nothing for teachers. I’m over buying stuff. You are truely blessed!!
I'm so sorry...I know I am very lucky and I don't blame you for feeling that way.
Do you have a link to purchase the birthday bear?
I don’t see this exact one but there were several options in the party section at Walmart.
I use wide ribbon and material for bulletin boards
That's a cute idea!
I never have white cardstock either
😂 Glad it's not just me!
The black crate you got I also bought for filing. But they actually don’t fit hanging files. So frustrating!
Have you tried long dubbles and glue them in the corner down with a square block from the dollar tree, it works.
Oh I hope it works. The other one I have holds files so hopefully this one does too.
