Indeed!! Was absolutely amazing! :D Meeting everyone from RoosterTeeth has to be one of the highlights of my life. Such a lovely group of people :) But yeah, can guarantee you will not be disappointed by episode 1, awesome 14 minute episode with lots of plot development, action and laughs XD

these girls give a whole new meaning to the phrase girl power, seriously Ruby defeated an army of Beowolves by herself, Weiss took down a huge suit of armor, Blake obliterated a ton of those robots, and Yang single handedly cleared an entire dj lounge

This is amazing, the music goes so well with all the fighting scenes.
I love the ending with the Deathstalker about to hit Ruby! It goes so well with the song, and it was a great way to end the video.

In my opinion, this is very well done. Where most AMVs just take the original music and paste in their favorite scenes from whatever show they're using, you actually took the beat and pacing of the song into account. The only thing I can think of that would make this video significantly better (without corporate backing anyway) would be to remake it using some of the cooler action scenes from volume 2. That might be a bit much though.

Well, it was originally a bet with a friend that took off. Basically, he asked me to introduce a new character into RWBY, and I did. And then he (the character) threatened to castrate Cardin, and I realized I actually had an interest in continuing the idea... So, yeah.

Dean V. The fight scenes are the only reason. They've improved the writing in later volumes but back then? Yeah the fight scenes were the only reason it got recognized
I think it's a combination of the huge fanbase of Monty Oum (and as en extension Dead Fantasy) combined with Red Vs Blue fans as well as Roosterteeth diehards gave it the recognition it needed. That's a huge combination of people and the fight scenes *kept* the peoples attention. And ahh yeah, also the controversy over if it's an anime. That catches a lot of irritating attention as well.

its an anime. its a web series that is an anime. its on crunchy roll, confirming it. not to mention Japanese sources have dubbed it the first true American anime.

Stijn Hakvoort crunchyroll streams anime and live action drama. Rwby is on crunchyroll and it sure as hell isn't live action.
Maybe he confuses it with anime cuz the artstyle sure as hell is similar, but officially it's american so it isn't anime, anime is made in Japan. (Just hitting u with the facts and not with another show)
