After living in 5 cities in 3 different countries, I must say that Linares (my hometown) is still my favorite city to live so far. What you said, minus being a foreigner, is what I love the most too.
Linares looks like a nice place to raise your kids! I started appreciating the country life being here in USA because big cities are getting too crazy, i imagine it’s the same in Santiago...nothing gives you more peace than being surrounded by nature 😌🌳🌿🍂🌼🌞

La gran mayoría de los habitantes de Santiago venimos de provincia. 08:00 dude I live in one of those houses ahahaha. I'm from Linares and you're right, the city is very quiet and frome here we reach the montains and the beach... Sometimes we don't appretiate our environment untill we are far away. I am very glad to see foreign people enjoys our little piece of paradise.

I love the city where I was born. Linares is a beatiful city, little but quiet and lovely. It is near the country side ( Panimavida, Colbun, san Nicolas, Rari...). and near the beach (peyuhue and curanipe).Thanks for the vídeo.

I love Linares too, I lived two years in Santiago and six years in Concepción and love both but I still prefer Linares at the end of the day, Santiago is great, with lots of things to do, museums, parks, malls, diversity, etc. but the noise, the distances and the stress are too much for me, Concepción, on the other hand, is beautiful, windy, rainy, young and thriving but too cold and humid for my taste. Linares it's just the right size and it's so peaceful that I love living here, every city in Chile have its own charm, the important thing is to find it and to embrace it. If you like the mountains, secluded roads and pathwalks, unknown lagoons and cascades, windy hills and open fields you'll definitly will love Linares, near we have the Colbún lake, Maule lagoon, the Enladrillado, Descabezado Grande volcano, Maule river, Cajón del Melado, Cajón del Ancoa, Cajón del Achibueno, the Longaví Nevado, Monte Oscuro, Las Ánimas, Pejerrey, Vega de Salas, El Peñasco, Las Mulas, Embalse Ancoa, Roblería, Rabones, Cerro las Vizcachas, Laguna Dial, Vega de las Casas, Laguna Amargo, Cerro el Toro, Lago Bullileo, etc. all places that are near Linares to the east, to the west we can go to Constitución, Pelluhue, Curanipe beaches, small towns like El Sauzal, Caliboro, Melozal, Palmilla, Marimaura, Huerta de Maule, Nirivilo, Chanco, Purapel, Cerro Name, Cerro Gupo, etc. and in the central valley Yerbas Buenas, Putagán, Miraflores, Orilla de Maule, Longaví, La Quinta, Los Cristales, Retiro, Vara Gruesa, Panimávida, Quinamávida, etc. lots of beautiful places to go and relax. Well, it's up to every one's way of life, Linares is small and quiet but there is a lot to discover around it, you only need the hunger for adventures and time to explore. Best of luck Jon!

No wonder you love LInares so much...it´s beautiful there¡¡¡...I always heard about Linares since i´m a local from Valparaíso ( yes, i saw your video), but i never felt so interested on going there and visit but after watching your vids...you might be Linares Mayor best friend by now. Personally i don´t really like big, crowded (and poluted...) cities like Santiago, and when Valpo seems to have just the right size Linares should be a paradise of quietness and friendly simple people living their simple lives.
