It used to fluctuate, top of the pops. On some rare occasions they had completely live acts with live instruments but that was rare and then all of a sudden they’d pull the plug on live vocal mics and it was back to miming again. It usually reflected in how shit the pop music and musicians were at any given Year 😂 if you were cliff Richard or something you didn’t get exclusive treatment you just had to do the miming. Maybe it was all Kurt Cobain’s fault
So did the klf burn a million pounds ? I hope they really did. I would like to do the same thing and call it a work of art. Good on them they made a statement to the world the klf did things their way . DEC 2019 😎👍😎👍
Yes, there is a documentary about it.. it wasn’t a stunt or promotion, it was a public or even private experiment/statement about Capitalism but i think there was some deeper meaning in it too. Pretty sure it inspired that Joker scene in Dark Knight but i could be imagining that

I think the KLF had made enough money to justify REALLY doing that.. but essentially we could have all been pranked- the documentary could be part of it
