GAP The Series is leading that boom as the FIRST full-length GL series to come out of Thailand. So you can imagine how happy we were to have the opportunity to sit down with Freen & Becky to discuss the series, as well as its impact.
We're talking style symbolism, advice for familial pressures, singing OSTs for the series and more. We even got Freen & Becky to share some of their FIRSTS with us in a fun game.
Season 3 is going to be our biggest one yet and we couldn't ask for a better interview to start off the season!

So nice Freen seems to understand English even though she can't fully express her thoughts using the language yet. And it's cute that Becky helps in explaining things to her when she doesn't understand something and the interpreter just lets Becky
It's nice to see Becky being the one who assists Freen, cause it's usually the other way around. Not that I'm saying that Becky doesn't take care of Freen but it's just more prominent now.

This interview was perfect. Finally we get to hear them speak about their characters. No weird questions about their personal lives. You can see how proud they are of their characters and you guys made them really comfortable to speak on that
totally. some of the thai interviews I've seen is kinda of cringy...even tho I'm a shipper!
Freen’s so talented, she didn’t sing before GAP and she sounds so good. New talent unlocked. 😂 Becky my girl is always talented of course. ❤
I can totally relate to what Becky said about Mon's feelings for Sam. It's kind of common queer experience in Asia, I don't know what's it like in the West. Growing up, I idolized my crushes on girls and thought, "I want to be like them" while subconsciously trying to get close to them by doing everything what they like (of course, not obsessive as Mon lol). Maybe, it's a female thing. For males, it was often clear to them whether if it's bromance or not. After some years, I realized that I didn't "want to be like my female crushes" but I actually "wanted them." That is my coming out to myself story recently 😂
Edited: this is my fav interview. Now, I can enjoy watching other interviews while waiting for episodes of Gap the series and new BLs.

Thank you for organizing this interview guys. It gets difficult for international fans to understand their interviews and usually subtitles are not present so we are very grateful for this interview. Also i know no one wants to make them feel uncomfortable but sometimes when interviewers start tip toeing around their personal life or start shipping Freen and Beck instead of Mon and Sam it gets messy so, thank you so much for being respectful. The question were laid back and wholesome and thus fun time for all of us 💕.
Hope the international FreenBecky fans will find this interview. It made me happy to see them together and for sure their fans worldwide will appreciate your channel more because they are missed by the fans. Thank you Alexa and Kayla.

I totally respect becky for being humble and respectful totally letting the interpreter do her job without jumping in like a know it all , on another note I could totally listen to pfreen all day without any translation💕 .. I loved every bit of this interview. Thank you, thank you. Freen is absolutely adorable and funny. Becky is just plain cute. Sadly, I'm quite a bit older than them and didn't have stories like GAP/ characters like them around when I was their age, but im glad that we have it and them now. I just can't figure out what it is about them and this show that hits so differently than any other queer show/on screen couple I've seen. There is just something so special about them. They make me feel things in a way that I never have watching other queer shows. Like they haven't really even kissed kissed yet, and I feel like we've been given so much. I've felt more from these characters just from way they look at each other than I've felt in any other show.
THIS. There's just something about GAP... idk I feel like if more series are like this we'll be entering a new era of GL series. THERE IS SO MUCH I WANT TO SAY LOL
First off, shows in the west (from hollywood) are fundamentally different than shows in the east like kdramas, cdramas and thai dramas. Eastern shows from asia are definitely more chemistry-focused due to countries being more conservative. We see more cute, tropey scenes with soft music and slow-mos LOL. Whereas in Hollywood, there's less emotional development and instead more physical development. Also, most of the WLW representation is coming from Hollywood cause eastern countries like Korea (the ones who pump out the most content that appeals to international fans) are still afraid to depict queer characters, esp in main roles.
So I think what we're seeing now is a high-production kdrama-esque show being made for the first time. And it's no surprise that it's coming from Thailand because BL there is already very popular so switching to GL isn't going to trigger a wave of homophobia LOL. So paired with amazing chemistry, good acting (as far as I can tell from an international standpoint) and a dramatic/exciting plot, we're finally getting a regular, romance/drama eastern-styled show that has a wlw couple at the center. This has never been done before. There's more focus on the emotions and backstories of characters that increases dramatic effect, and much less focus on the physical aspects of the relationship at the beginning. I think that's what makes the show so great for romance fans.
GAP's pacing, fleshed out characters, and natural chemistry between the lead actors makes it stand out from the rest of the wlw representation out there. The production quality is so high and we're getting a full, legitimate show focusing on the relationship between two women and following the dramatic k/thai-drama style that is bound to leave butterflies in our stomach... when we think about it, this really is a first. The team really didn't shy away from anything & treated it as just another romance, and that makes me so happy because then it's really just genuine representation (also, kudos to the original novel for the plotline)!
Their love, sweetness, care and respect for each other is so palpable... Awwww i love freenbecky/MonSam the most sweetest and authentic I have ever seen IRL

Me gustaría dejar un comentario en español ya que aprecio mucho que se hayan tomado el trabajo de agregar estos subtítulos y de conseguir una intérprete para casos como estos. Realmente creo que GAP es una obra que va a ser un precedente para las ficciones GL. Siento que es algo así como cuando se declaró que Korra de Avatar estaba con Asami, pero mucho mejor...
