Robert John McPherson 26-7-1975

RUC policeman, Robert John McPherson, 25, married, was murdered and his colleague injured, on 26/7/1975 - shot by INLA terrorists, arriving to investigate a report of a suspicious car parked on Main Street, Dungiven, Co Londonderry. His gun was stolen from his body and later recovered in the Republic of Ireland at the house with suspects.
Update - 12/6/2024, 3 males were charged; 2 have been requested by the Police Service of Northern Ireland on NI extradition warrants; JE McNicholl (RoI) & SC OKane (RoI), also JG Kelly (Dungiven)
