I am interested in knowing how many inches between the conduit knock out and the grid/load lugs. Wire bending space for the 4/0 aluminum or 3/0 copper.
There are several inches between the bottom of the inverter case and the connection points for the large cables. depending on the type cables you use you will have plenty of room to bend them. Check to see if you need 3/0 cable. it seems that 2/0 is big enough.
I am grid tied with a SolarEdge non hybrid inverter and paying a 15 buck connection fee. My system is 5.44 kw but I want to expand, add a battery back up and not be subject to blackouts. My LG panels use optimizers and I am told I have to daisy chain one of these EG4 18k’s to my SolarEdge Inverter to use it and utilize battery back up. Any videos or ideas on how to do this? Or to do this a better way? Great videos and very well done so thank you. 👍🏻
I have not personally used the SolarEdge inverter. The EG4 18k can use grid power to charge the battery or you can use solar. If your solar panels use micro inverters at the panels then the power from them will be 240v AC. It might be possible to use that directly into the eg4 grid input I just dont know for sure. You can setup charge times on the inverter to make sure that is only charges the battery in the day.
Grid limiting so you only use in-house and not feed back to the grid, nice. Some utilities charge monthly rent for the 'smart meter' and a supplier license fee for folks putting extra juice back to the grid.
The CT clamps are great to keep the power in house. I hear that there is an extra cost for the bi directional meters. I prefer to have the system isolated from the grid.
What state do you live in that allows net metering. In Michigan here we have DTE was totally sucks they don't allow any net metering or feeding back to the grid.

The EG4 is the best around. I have had no issues at all since I installed. Runs my house with ease.
The L1 and L2 stand for line 1 and line 2 not load 1 and load 2.

what is the maximum wire gage that the grid lugs on the inverter can accept , i am planing to use it as 200 amp pass through
The user manual shows
1 set of cables max of 10 feet length = 4/0
2 set of cables max of 20 feet length = 2/0

Duke Power in NC allows for sellback if you have it setup with a bi directional meter.
