I decided to let Google Bard write my comment tonight. Bard: "Overall, a TH-cam video showing how to program an 08-16 Caravan WIN control module can be a valuable resource for anyone who needs to learn how to do this task. The video can save time and frustration, and it can help to ensure that the job is done correctly."
Aloha Jay! Another awesome vid, learning how to synch these modules are an excellent source of potential revenues... Couple things I would like your opinion on: -Autel just started this new requirement to be connected to internet, EVERY time you sign in. Great tool (although don't know why it is so slow on certain cars- like Honda). But what do you and all my fellow partners think of that- maybe the "new normal" for programming?? -Doesnt seem like we can get the new 5# pass codes for Fiat/Jeep/Chrysler from our sources. Need to use bypass options, unless you, or anyone knows where to get them. -Seems like these new challenges to programming are going to be the norm. Whether Fiat, Nissan, Toyota, etc..they are all going to make it harder going forward. Would appreciate feedback from all. Mahalo Lock N' Roll Maui Locksmiths.., P.S. know you're busy, but really appreciate your thoughts...what's with 90° in NY in April?? Don't remember that growing up there....
This new WIFI thing is a pain in my backside. No reason they can't do a 5 digit pin like the others. I see them loosing a PILE of sales and more guys looking back to the SmartPro. The whole WIFI thing is ok if you live where you can always hook to WIFI, not here in NY where I am. No more IM508 videos until it's fixed.
Another new thing I would have not known without your helpful videos Jay..Thanks Brutha! Curious? How do you know when it's a bad WIN that's causing no start?
cool. I got suckered into replacing a ignition assy on a 06 vw jetta (kid lost key and destroyed ignition trying to bypass). normally I only do keys ,no parts replacement or connecting to program other then the obdII port.
Very interesting how the tech works in the car. I have been ask by my Nephew if I can make him a key for his car. It is a Gen 5 1990 liftback Toyota celica he has lost his keys. He said it was a standard key without a chip in it. I have a hand held lishi cutter. I have a photo of the key which shows just one side of it but I figured they would be the same cuts on both side of the key? I will be going to the car on Thursday out in the country to help him out. I will need to gain entry into the car. I need to know is what key blank is needed? I looked in the old key book and there are so many options. Does this car have a cylinder tucked away in a hidden spot like I have seen you pull out of other cars?. I could make the key from that. If not I was thinking if I could remove the ignition cylinder I could cut the key using that as the guide. But then the question becomes how do you remove the ignition cylinder? The car is in a remote area in a rural area and there is no chance of there being a auto locksmith out there. So I will need to be fully prepared with knowledge and materials before I go there. Are you able to answer any of these questions for me, thanks mate, cheers
If I want to become an auto locksmith, is there something/somewhere you can direct me , to start, other than your videos, which is like a course in itself.
@@joeandgod1 Best thing you can do is apprentice with an auto locksmith. It takes a few years to learn everything. Work for an auto locksmith for 3-5 years and then you can decide if you want to start your own thing or keep working for them. Don't look for shortcuts, you'll be sorry.

Cool video - I see the Bird Man is in Learning Mode today.
He knows I have more rubber bands 😆
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO AND YOUR TIME 🙏👍
I try to get out what I can. Thanks
Awesome Job Jay #locksny 🤔
Thank You Sir !
Would you be able to do one say from a wrecking yard that has different vin and pin?
Just curious...who supplied the new WIN module? Got it from a dealership or aftermarket?
I don't know about Jay, but I buy mine online aftermarket from Dorman. So much cheaper than dealer and they have worked flawlessly.
@@User-bq4qm Thank you for the info...much appreciated.
@@randyharrell3911 I have a great working relationship with my local dealer, I get them from them.
Great vid, thanks. Do you prefer the APP over the IM508/608 for this task?
I do now that I have to hook up wifi everytime I need to use it. It's a PITA
@locksny I noticed that.. So weird...

Great video, I'm in nyc and would like to start working as a automotive locksmith. Can you please make a video explaining how to become one
Where can I buy a 2016 town and country win module and keys?
Will old keys work or is a new key needed? Thank you for your videos.
They will work, I don't take the chance on a call back for a bad key.
@locksny good to know, thank you Sir

Some of the VW can be a real pain in the backside.

If it's like the cars here in the US, the code should be right on the door cylinder.

I don't know of any places. The best way to really learn is riding with a locksmith.
@@locksny Ok. That's what I was thinking. I'll probably just have to pay somebody to ride along with them for some time. Thanks

What could you do, if you can't get the pin code off the old win unit.
Get the Pin from a dealer or code service.
How can we contact you ?!!
