We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. If I may share my thoughts here... this may come out of this world but this comes as I feel it. Namjoon is the tip of the arrow of CHANGE. BTS is the arrow , the muscle in this change. Namjoon begins . BTS follows and Armys support the spread of the idea. NAMJOON is the youngest philosopher of our time. Someone who is a gift from the Universe. His depth of thinking and ideas are borne of his desire to let the world know that what we used to know is not what it is. He started with this search of himself. He is paving the way not only for Kpop or entertainment but more so with our way of thinking . He started with Love Yourself. Namjoon might not be understood by most . His way of speaking through music and poetry is an ancient way to reach minds and people. And this dear readers of Asian is a mark of a Messenger. Namjoon has come to give us a message many has ignored and laughed at. Namjoon is about The Message. Listen and digest his words. There lies the answer to who or what Namjoon is. A beautiful enigma of a human being !
He definitely IS a deep thinker & I like that about him. Not many do any deep thinking these days. Most of us are just running the treadmill of life, trying to get to the next phase. RM seems to be able to think way far in advance.. into the future. That being said, most of his thoughts are nothing new. Many other philosophers, deep thinkers, and wise men through the ages have had similar thoughts. As the wisest man on earth once said, "there is nothing new under the sun." However, RM seems to have a way with words & a unique way of saying things, which ,of course, makes him special. And as you pointed out, when he couples it with music, his message gets across to others much more easily, IMO.
@@rebekahv5185I agree but I would also like to add that not many, in fact I haven't seen anyone do what he or BTS are doing through and for pop culture. These ideas were more or less related to academia and only were superficially reflected if at all in rare instances in pop culture but thanks to them, a lot of the laymen, people who wouldn't hold a "Demian" in their hand ever if not for Namjoon or BTS are seeing a new world unfold before them and that's no small feat to achieve you see!
I definitely saw a different genre from before, for sure. This song was so stripped down, so bare, so raw, but yet I could hear the r&b and indie elements!!! This was effortless melancholic, yet so seductively beautiful as it drew me into his "reality" and what I saw as his quest to find himself. I didn't really see the past, present and future as stated, but his past and the way societal expectations effect his present and may very well effect his future were clearly part of his quest to find his true self. At least that's how I feel. I really saw this as one of the more thought provoking MV ever!!!! This will definitely prompt many discussions about happiness, love and maybe most importantly acceptance!
ive seen people react not in favor of RMs Come back to me. they didnt like it that much coz its not the usual "KPOP" or even "POP" everyone would expect with all its make ups and high energy performance. i respect that but for me though, i find that BTS is sooo courageous and so genuine about their music that they can explore so much. theyre limitless in their potential. and im just in awe of everything that they do. they will never outgrow their music coz they mature with their music. and for me when i see the term "BTS is bigger than KPOP".. its this. not just in terms of revenue but in their ART and MUSIC. I love that RM shares his beautiful, unique thoughts to us. i absolutely feel that he is the most beautiful human being ive seen.
I get the feeling that RM is always a step or two ahead of the world. He presents his music/art; we stop, listen, and reflect; then there is a collective gasp of, "How did I not realize this?" He truly is a leader to so many!
*Some time ago Namjoon said that was in search of himself, of how many colors LOVE has and with this song it seems that he showed himself searching for himself from childhood to maturity and see if he succeed in any stage alone or with the help of someone who helps him. In fact, at the beginning he showed us many stages of life but it was as if he were unsure in which stage he could find himself but there was the reverse and then he began to smile at every stage because he realized that if he tries to be more confident in himself and allow the people to be close to him he can be HAPPY and be HIMSELF❤* This is my interpretation of his "COME BACK TO ME"❤
I really appreciate your thoughts on the song and MV. When RM drops a new song, I know I will not like it at first. I tend to gravitate to dramatic, surface songs that let me feel rather than think. Now that I am in my middle years, I have found myself appreciating RM’s approach to music. I know I will need to focus and reflect. I usually listen to other’s opinions as I gather my thoughts. Finally, I reach deep inside and discover another aspect to appreciate. I really enjoy the journey.
This is so true. I tend to listen/watch once, read the lyrics, get my own thoughts started, then go back and listen/watch a few more times. At that point, I start reading the thoughts of other Army to again rethink it all as I will do now having heard your thoughts. Namjoon is definitely not a surface-only artist. Tae's recent songs have been such enigmas as well. (Notice Tae's jazz influence in the music on this as well). I will be pondering this all day. Lol
I’m beyond my middle years. But I still need a little more time and knowledge through others to understand and therefore appreciate this kind of music. Now I love the art within the song and the artist!! Like you said ‘I really enjoy the journey’!!
It might be stupid from me to acnolwledge this but, what I realized the most, is how now he is showing his natural self and beauty. His true skin tone, his real color of hair, his own music, his own thougts. Maybe his struggles in the 2022 festa were all those unnecessary burdens he was carrying, cause one thing is what you choose to carry for the sake of your objectives and other different is what you have to carry in order to please an industry. I hope I made myself understand.
I don't think your idea is stupid at all. In fact, I think you're spot on noting the significance of Namjoon's natural look. Learning to be comfortable in your own skin is a key message that I understood from the MV. 💜
@@bt6248 I think you're both right, and it must have been a fair struggle to be 'himself' for a boy who was told he was 'too ugly' to be an idol and that leaving the rap Underground was 'selling out'. 🥺
Your explanation is so helpful. I agree that he has brought back the depth of his art after BTS has done some more pop-friendly music (which I like and totally understand their reasons for doing). It is like he is doing a new style of rap incorporating the poetry reading idea as you said, with jazz influenced styling. As someone who connects with melody and harmonies more than lyrics in songs I do struggle with the presentation style of the verse before the instruments come in, but I will think about it as a poetry reading and maybe that will help. Listening along with the MV is more engaging for me than just listening to the song. Now I am also going to think about the MV in a different way after your explanation and thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
Great insight as always💜I feel like he has comeback to himself…the self that he is today and accepts himself for who that person is now. I love that he is creating his music exactly the way he wants and not giving a hoot about how the kpop world views it. After BTS does a reunion tour with all their old music I think we are in for exciting new music from them unlike anything we’ve seen before. The individual musical styles of each of the members will bring us a rainbow of colors..so proud of RM for finally getting to share his art on his own terms💜
Yes!, it's a wonderful journey RM is on. And ARMY is so here for it!. Most of us are here because of the message and deeper meaning BTS and RM often provides in their songs. Have you noticed that most ARMY's have really tried to understand the message of the song and the meaning of the MV, and have not used time on drama because there are portrayed different kinds of relationships and women in the story - but we have all been busy with the interpretation and the story being told. We are mature - when the subject is mature. I really love that!. My interpretation of this song and MV, is that is about reconnect with your creativity and purpose in life. I see it as a continuation of the songs in INDIGO, where he sings about that he wants to be a human before he can make art (from the song "YUN"). 'True beauty is a true sadness' like the 'pain divine' he is perhaps saying that being a human and being an artist is hard but at the same time beautiful and divine. RM has been maturing and has changed from where he was when he started his musical career. He has been been on a cross road and perhaps have had some sort of life crises, because he "lost himself" during the last couple of years and as he says in the famous Festa clip, is that his life in the past 10 years as been so hectic, that there has been no time to grow and mature and be present in the moment. This is also themes in his some of his songs from INDIGO - "HECTIC" and " FORG_TFUL". So in this song 'Come back to me' and in the MV I interpret it as he is trying to find himself, his Anima and his muse ( creativity ) again. And if he follow "her" and are being more present in the moment, his life will be so much better and he will perhaps enjoy being in these different situations in life, - or look back at them more fondly. I agree that the whole song and MV is a conversation with himself. Happily I see the message of the song and MV in a very positiv light and that he has now found "her" and is ready to go where "she" goes and move on from his past memories and move out of " the boxes" he has put himself in. It is a continuation of his last song on INDIGO - No.2, where he forgive himself and kind of chanting that he shouldn't look back to the past anymore but move on.
Kim Namjoon is an artist who portrays his genius through his poetic music, he is so intelligent and deep. Just like his love for museums, his music is art too. When you look at a piece of art, whether sculpture or picture, we don't always get it at first time glance. We might have to look it a couple of times, and then the light bulb goes on! Come Back To Me, is just like that! Congratulations to RM for all he's done and will do as a writer, singer, rapper and producer! I Borahae Namjoon!
One of the best analysis I have seen so far. I appreciate his artistry and attempt to make us think and grow as people. Some fans will want to stay in their comfort zone of fun songs and that's okay. BTS acknowledged that their new chapter might turn some fans away but they will gain others who appreciate the new direction and maturity. Personally, I love the song. It's my style for everyday listening while I work. I think the length of the song throws people off because the lead up into the drums finally dropping in long. But when it does, it is such a vibe that keeps going longer than most people are used to. Short songs are popular these days but I appreciate him going away from that this time.
True art evokes emotions and provokes new ways of seeing and thinking. I think it's only complete when the "consumer" views it and interprets it, even if it's not the way the artist intended. RM loves art and music manifestly. He has been pushing towards creating something that will stand the test of time and not just be a passing fad. With every release he's getting closer to this goal, imo. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the album.
I’ve always thought that you push yourself (or the universe gives you a shove) to step out of your comfort zone, (that you have evolved into) in order to grow. I always found growth to be sometimes difficult, stressful, even painful, but always rewarding at the end. I am an older (granma army since 2013) and I have enjoyed this journey with Namjoon and BTS immensely. It has been wonderful to watch them grow exponentially into grown men. It’s not often a fan group gets to watch and “grow with and around their “idols” as we both traverse these intricacies of life. It’s okay to enjoy where you are in life, but I found I stagnated there, I finally left a life of ease and pain to become myself and struggle though a few decades to earn my MS, raise my children by myself with my own ideas, morals and visions, try new things, and finally to let my parents go. With their deaths I was finally free to be myself for the first time ever. 🎉Thank you so much for your insightful reactions into RM’s journey to this point in his life. I know he will continue to grow and entertain us in some way or another for years to come. Your reactions always inspire me! 💜
New genre is a bit hyperbolic but bringing back the slow jazz lyric poetry and putting his own stamp on it. Oh yes. His interview w/ Pharrell is highly recommended to help understand what and why we are blessed to be in these times for all of them. Inspiring artistry in themselves, us and other artists. This is so much fun.
Thank you so much for this outstanding reaction. The best one I've seen so far. RM goes deep and it's important that the reactor can do so also. You have done this justice. I have loved the BTS "boys" - RM, Jin, Suga, JHope, V, JM, and JK; but I'm more excited to meet these men - Namjoon, Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Taeyhung, Jimin, and Jungkook - when they return from military service. While I hope they still retain much of their fun-loving personalities, I'm excited to see who they are as humans. Namjoon has given us a glance of all the wonderful things we can expect in the near future. #OT7 - Apobangpo - Borahae
This analysis and RM's song came at the right time of my life, too. Thank you for adding your witty opinion. Hopefully, younger Armies will see the great value we can get from RM's new album.😊💜
Namjoon is such deep thought, intelligent individual. His need to always challenge himself and constantly learning and creating is so inspiring. My wish for him is continued Success and simultaneously, if he hasn't already, find that true and loving person that he can share his love and life with. Him and his band mates have given us so much of themselves and I just want him to have that special and loyal someone as he continues on his journey. Author, please know that I truly appreciate you and your content! Btw, I love this song!
I found you only recently and love the way you present your views as well as when you educate others on aspects about business and many more. Thank you for your content and your hard work. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
As an Army woman in her sixties, I think the concept of change, acceptance and trying to find who we are in our own world is an inevitable journey. Whether we can filter through this process depends on our self awareness and that is one of the things I am always trying to do. We can't accept to be the person others would wish us to be as this would compromise our own happiness. I love RM's presentation of the song and think that each of us will definitely see different sides to these lyrics. IIt has certainly made me think about who I really am as a person.
It can take a lifetime to truly find ourselves. We can only love who we are at our current state and endeavour to savour the moments, as they may never return. RM is an incredibly insightful mind, more so at such a young age. I am looking forward to the amazing direction the band has ahead of them. It is indeed fated that these 7 very different men will continue to break barriers and inspire many.
I felt he was bewildered. He was looking from the outside. not part of the scene until the end. RM is brave. He constantly faces up to his life, takes stock, and admits where he finds it lacking. Most of us are not that brave. His introspection is admirable.
Really enjoy your insights and look forward to the next release. I see that BTS is also moving into maturity and moving the fans there too. Dating, family and adult feelings that they didn’t get to express in chapter 1.
I'm wondering if it's RM thinking about the different relationships, the different choices, what will really make him happy, what is expected, and how to marry them into his life. I've heard him talk about how he used to think he would get married and have a child. He wanted to be a dad. Later, in a different conversation he talked about doubting if that was what he really wanted, or if that was even an option for him because of the life he has chosen. Perhaps, this break has given RM a chance to reflect on his life in K Pop, Korea, compared to his life as a child and what he thought he wanted out of his life. I think the empty rooms at the end, show us he accepts he has no answers yet, but instead of being anxious, he has decided to be comfortable in just letting life unfold, and keep exploring. I would love to hear other's thoughts. I think we will get more answers if we watch the mv's in the order he puts them. Perhaps, these are his thoughts as he enters his 30's, his Chapter 2?
I loved your insights and ideas and for reminding me where he shared the song before! The concert!!! I think rm is so intriguing. He appears to be diving into whatever he wants to experiment with and try through his solo work. I’m impressed by the genre experimentation and with the song lengths. I feel like he is saying “this is what I want to do right now. This brings me the most fulfilling experience and process.” And I’m for one really enjoying the outcome.
You are always so on point!! I too felt like he's starting a new Era, a more poetic side, where he can evolve and grow even more. It's not pop, it's not anything that's been done, but that so RM. He's always wanted to delve into the outer and other of his physic...he's just so deep to me. One thing I got, and I could be wrong, could just be wishful thinking, but the lady with the purple haze in the dress he talked to, I felt was Army. He wants Army to expand and grow also and take this walk with him. He wants us to be happy and learn about ourselves and be enlightened as he tries also. 😊 He makes me so proud, such a positive human being and wonderful young man. ❤️ 🫰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I did wonder if my moniter was showing up correctly with bits of purple bits in the dress so I did wonder if that was a representation of ARMY. Thank you for mentioning it.
I was just talking to my 82 yr old dad about this very thing. He is now breaking down the form and creating art. The Beatles did this, too. They started to play with the music and see how it evolved. Radiohead is a more modern version of this and now BTS. As an artist, if you live in the same comfortable place, it gets stale, and then you start to lose your passion. ( Sounds like Black Swan) I adore that RM is willing to go there, and not only that, he is sharing it with us. He is creating pure ART. And they are most definitely helping K-pop evolve. I love the realism. Once again, thank you for your wonderful insights. 😘💜🫶🏻🫰🏻
I rember a conversation between RM and Pharrell Williams about the creative process. They talked about judging if lyrics are good enough by if they are painful enough. Divine pain.
The Midnight Library is so good and such a great message. I agree that RM’s video definitely gives you the similar message as the midnight library. RM’s mono and V’s Layover are my all time favourite albums. I love RM’s music, his art is so thought provoking and he never disappoints. Can’t wait for his album!
I always enjoy your thoughtful, respectful analyses. I, too, saw the song and MV as a conversation with himself. It felt like he was reclaiming his anima. RM has a strong, smart, cool, and very manly outer persona, but (as is clear from his many lyrics) his inner self is sweet, tender, warm, and kind. In our rigidly gender-defined world, it can be challenging for men to claim that aspect of self and let it show on the outside. In addition, most of us get duped into believing we will be made whole by another, and we seek that wholeness in intimate relationships. However, we must each struggle to make OURSELVES whole by claiming ALL that we are (not just the aspects of self that we think are safe to show the world). That's why at the end, he walks through the door of life, ready to move through all the rooms and situations with his WHOLE self, not just his cool exterior. It's all in the lyrics, too: "come back to me (seeking the whole self), you don't have to be that anything you see (be yourself), Spring's always been here, I will sleep in her eyes (he feminizes Spring and wants to see the world through those eyes), and finally, you are my pain divine (it's painful to live with that tender aspect of self exposed, but it's also the most glorious "divine" experience of being alive OR these lines can also be reflecting the pain of the struggle to hold onto our whole selves and not get pulled back into the seemingly safer uni-dimensional, gendered self).
BTS wants ARMY to grow up with them instead of staying in the youth, 20 something KPOP ideals. I am impressed. I came with the same conclusion that this was a self reflection song. Come Back to Me is about not losing your own identity.
Listen to this a lot and I got the sense of being evolved. It’s about growing and evolving without feeling like you have to be something society or people tell you to be.
wow there are soooo many siginifications and meanings in this mv that i felt really dumb now hahahahahaha so true BTS lead kpop to another level and beyond the pop
As usual you give a clear and relatable critique of RM's work. I always enjoy listening to you. RM gives to us thoughtful songs and I find your opinions very interesting. Thank you.
I've read tons of different analyses on twitter and I've taken bits and pieces from all of them. From yours I really like the idea that the verses are a conversation with himself. That tracks with the mv too. Also since I'm not a K-pop stan I appreciate you providing some context about how this does/does not fit in that genre. Makes me appreciate it even more!
Thankyou RM, you are a philosopher and poet. Which is the reason why his rapping reached me through the subtitles in English. He suggested a movie called Everything Everywhere All at once which explains where his latest song and it nailed what he was trying to convey. I respect him so much. Thank you for your discussion about Kimnamjoon .✨️
Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot on my interesting and valuable journey with RM. At my age I gradually discovered who I am. Acceptance of me in my past helps me to appreciate my present. What about the future? I try to use my time wisely and joyfully. RM’s speech at the UN opened my eyes and heart He was talking about me as a child. I will always keep his words in my mind.
This is poetry at its finest, blended with beautiful music and excellent cinematography. Because of this , I can see him in a movie acting one day. They put a beautiful story behind the lyrics of the song. Beautiful, love it!❤
Thank you for your analysis. Now I can listen to this song again and be guided by your thoughts. Even the title of the album is making more sense now. 🙏💜
Why I like BTS so much is how they bring meaningful exciting story telling to their music, not boring at all. Not just song and dance which we love but keeping us always on the edge of our feet. Thank you
Thank you for a wonderful review. I’m always very impressed with RM’s work. He is an amazing lyricist and beautiful human being. I love the way his changing the world view into K-pop, SK music & the way he leads BTS. Great responsibilities on his shoulders that I doubt anyone else can successfully envision, manage and most important bring to life. I can’t wait for the release of his new album.
Excellent review… I’ve been this person and members of my birth family have had a hard understanding me. I’ve learned their opinions don’t matter. I’m fine with who I am, what want to do or not do, and not fitting into anyone’s box. Beautiful story/music to RM. waiting patiently for his album… one more week.💜💜💜
So many interpretations! Yours is most interesting and somewhat different from the others. I can't seem to watch the mv and listen to the song at the same time. Don't know why that is, or why the the final scene of him wandering thru those rooms is so disturbing. It's supposed to be happy (??) but I get unsettling, Squid Game vibes. I think RM may be hinting that after discharge, they won't be our bulletproof boy scouts anymore but men with wounds.
Your analysis is always spot on, and truly, your intellect is on another level. The depth you can glean from the lyrics, visuals and the actions is truly mind blowing. Hats off to you - by far the best analysis of BTS music.
Thank you for your in depth insight, I totally resonate with your sentiments at the end too, appreciate your time and the gift of RM’s artistry to our lives x
Your posts are in depth and well thought out. I actually learn something from them. You rise above most posts and I appreciate that. You deserve a lot of follows
I think you're right. I was also sort of fascinated by the change of costumes by both characters. You can bet they each meant something. Chapter 2 has been so interesting. I can't wait to see what Chapter 3 brings! Aside: I love your hat and glasses!
Hi bella.
I've been recommending your video to a lot of reactors, because there are a lot of people that don't understand the meaning of the song, mostly new viewers. His song, Come Back To Me, has gotten a lot of traction. Thanks for the great theory and the background of the making of the song.
I do have to say music hits you different at different times in your life, when I first heard RM song at Sugas concert, I felt like, ohoh, I'm not sure. I like it." But when I listen to it now, I'm at a different point in my life, and the song resignated with me relaxed and calmed me that it will be okay. Love It now, loved your take on his video, can't wait for more.
Everyone went crazy when he said he will perform an unreleased song at the concert. This song was titled 'Dandelion' back then. I loved it sm, it has been on my mind since he performed it and I was really hoping it made it to the album. We got an awesome MV for it! I'm very happy. 😊
RM started out as BTS, a group Bang Si Hyuk put together with the initial idea of a rap crew, but then eventually debuting them as an idol group. But from the very beginning RM and SUGA for sure, and perhaps the other members too, in varying degrees, knew that they had more in them than the traditional “idol”-ness, and their hiatus gave them the opportunity to showcase that. RM had shown us the artist in him in his previous music releases; he had always been contemplative and frank in his uncertainties, and this is yet another musical masterpiece from him, this time brilliantly supported by visuals which in true BTS style, is both suggestive and enigmatic. BTS is completely rewriting perceptions of what K-pop can offer, and I am in awe at their vision and delivery!
While you spoke I kept thinking about V's Fri(end)s and how in the end he wakes up and is comfortable with himself, that in or out of relationships there is no perfection unless you love yourself. This is such an introspective visual rendering of doing the work one needs to do at some point in their lives to go back and look into all the "rooms" we've occupied in our lives and to realize that staying within them, staying trapped by the way we defined ourselves at that time and place means we can never enjoy where we are or understand our present. Facing the feminine in his nature was the final key , the way to set himself free and move forward. That they're doing this work in front of us all is amazing.
Your analysis gave me so much more to think about. Bang Si-Hyuk always supported them all to look inside for thoughts and feelings to express in lyrics. Now they are older and RM is indeed in a now expressing a different chapter of his life.
When I first saw it my thought about being caught in a ever changing yet similar dream and being lost. That the reason we dream is the way for our brain to help process what we see, hear, experience. And this was part of what was happening RM finding his way through things different experience's thoughts, expectations both his of his own plus what social, cultural, etc expectation other put on a person, worries concerns confusion etc etc. until he finds peace in himself. As for the evolution of Kpop I've never really seen BTS as fully Kpop but rather a new hybred like a new hybred breed of a flower, or a dog or fruit. so yes this is just another step in the evolution of Kpop.
You express my own thoughts well. I felt I had entered RM's dreams when I first saw the MV. Past anxiety, present confusion, future hopes and dreams. I am hoping that RM and BTS are leading Korea and their generation into a new expression of popular music unique to their own time and place. I am old enough to appreciate how the influences of different genres and cultures pushes creative boundaries.
Thank you for your take on the meaning of this mv. No one else's explanation made sense. I'm really proud of him for taking a different direction in his music once again. I don't think there is anything he could do and not be successful at it 💜
I am most fascinated by the woman at the end. Yes, him but maybe also a woman who guides him toward some type of happiness? A life partner? Love this song and thank you!
I don’t know if everyone felt it when they turned 30. But I felt it just like he did. We are all forced to be introspective of the journey we have taken. Many are lost to the noise, the bright lights and voices that tell them how they should live or be. It’s only a few that find acceptance of the journey whether good or bad. It goes back to indigo with No2 about no looking back and not regretting the decisions and choices we have made. This last past of his album comes to acceptance and being a still point in the chaos but ever changing whether big or small feats. I love his brain so much
It is so true that there are many valid interpretations here. That's what a good artist does. As I watched the door and the woman that he kept catching glimpses of... I couldn't help but think. That's US.... That's ARMY. He looks at himself and then sees her. WHO reflects RM back the most to RM??? She doesn't seem like the wife or the other woman. She's more real. It brought me back to the Magic Shop and these lyrics: "Don't forget that I found you in the end (He finds the woman at the end) You were standing at the edge of a cliff (There was no cliff but in the video she too is lost and searching) It's my last reason Live Live A day when I hate being myself The day I want to disappear forever Let's make a door into your heart If you open that door and go in This place will wait It's okay to trust me, I'll comfort you It started with them wanting to comfort ARMY... all the while they needed comfort and understanding too. There has been this dialog back and forth as you see RM have with the woman at the end. They both are then able to go through the door to what is out there in the maze of life. ARMY is both millions of individuals and a collective singularity. When RM does livestreams... I've heard these lyrics in the conversations. "No. I'm good. I'm fine tonight."... only then to later talk about being lonely or how the seasons can cause him to be depressed so he makes sure to keep a routine. I think he talks about some things to us that he doesn't always talk to people around him about. But ARMY does too. They say things that are deep at times and he relates to it. it really does feel like one person talking to another. We remind him that he is strong.... and he says... Yes. I am strong. We all need hugs. Let's hug. I turned on live so I could feel your hugs.... We tell him we have his back and he says he has ours as well. I feel like since they stopped trying to hide all their struggles from us that things have gotten better for them in many ways. I hope so. I find this video comforting because I feel like he's in a good place.
The song is beautiful! Also, and maybe I’m reading too much into it, I see the primary colors on the last door he enters with his self reflection. You can paint anything with the three primary colors.
There is NOTHING superficial about my MAGICK MAN, *KNJ.* I SO appreciate his depth. As a matter of fact, there is no other artist who pushes me to think, grow and create. He has never, nor could he EVER, be boring. He has such a capacity for caring that, with his words and voice, he's able to melt the coldest of hearts...calm the most unsure...and cheer up those consumed with sadness and/or depression...and mostly through the way he (unknowingly) uses that aMAZingly expressive voice. Thank all that's holy that he's in THIS world at THIS time. ...and he's so naturally xhexy and gorgeous that I didn't notice the missing makeup. Besides...he L💜VES ARMY so much, and he knows there's a symbiotic relationship between Him and Us. We can't spell ARMY w/o *"RM".* *MAGICK!* #aRMyLOVE💙💕 #YetToComePROOF #TAKETWO #INDIGO #RM_SOMETHING💕💙 #CLOSER💕 #SEXYNUKIM #RIGHTPLACEWRONGPERSONandComeBackToMe 💞💙 #BOTTEGAVENETA #BTSPavedTheWay!
He had said this was going to be alternative genre album so I was a little surprised. I'm looking forward to hearing more. Especially if he slides into real Alternative. I love the song. However I'm slightly dissapointed there wasn't more Korean. I'm nervous this will continue to be a trend in bts. They always said they didn't want to sing in english but we would occasionally get an all english song. That their culture was pretty important. I'm worried the label has pressured them to do english songs because they sell more. I'm sad if so. Idk, I'm wondering what other people think.
I don't know what the other members have said about the subject, but Hobi has said that he considered learning English to be a crucial step to meeting his professional goals, not just for the sake of recording, but also to open doors to interact with more artists. I'm impressed by his long-term dedication to accomplish that goal, and, at least in his case, I've never gotten the impression that he was responding to pressure from BigHit. That being said, with the exception of Namjoon, the other members' English-only solo songs have been limited lyrically, because without fluency, it's difficult to express complex concepts. I'm curious about Namjoon's linguistic choices on the rest of the RPWP album.
So phylosophical! Great mind of Namjoon here! I don't think he copied it from anybody! Ha! Ha! They don't even have a cell of Namjoon's brain. BTS led by Namjoon is thousand of miles ahead in terms ideas and song content..so happy for RM!
Hi.i really love your interpretation on BTS songs!as a new-ish army maybe that's what endeared me to BTS,their songs arent just songs but deeper than that.💜💜💜
Honestly, I expected rap, but this is a welcome and fresh change! It is different, and it resonates more with the chill and real side of him, not the idol side of him. It's the person who we know loves art, museums, the classics, and reading books. This, in itself, is art, and the director pulled of what RM wanted to convey. A funny side note though. My niece heard me singing the "i forgot to shower" part and she said "eeeew"! hahaha!
Wow ! I agree ! ❤
Thank you for expressing this so perfectly. I agree as well! 💜
So beautifully reasoned.
Literally he's introducing his own genre! It's like adding a breath of fresh air to indie-pop
I really love your analysis. Your TH-cam Channel is gold.
💯
ive seen people react not in favor of RMs Come back to me. they didnt like it that much coz its not the usual "KPOP" or even "POP" everyone would expect with all its make ups and high energy performance. i respect that but for me though, i find that BTS is sooo courageous and so genuine about their music that they can explore so much. theyre limitless in their potential. and im just in awe of everything that they do. they will never outgrow their music coz they mature with their music. and for me when i see the term "BTS is bigger than KPOP".. its this. not just in terms of revenue but in their ART and MUSIC.
A step or two? I sometimes wonder if he's not Merlin.
*Some time ago Namjoon said that was in search of himself, of how many colors LOVE has and with this song it seems that he showed himself searching for himself from childhood to maturity and see if he succeed in any stage alone or with the help of someone who helps him. In fact, at the beginning he showed us many stages of life but it was as if he were unsure in which stage he could find himself but there was the reverse and then he began to smile at every stage because he realized that if he tries to be more confident in himself and allow the people to be close to him he can be HAPPY and be HIMSELF❤*
This is my interpretation of his "COME BACK TO ME"❤
I really appreciate your thoughts on the song and MV.
Lol
@@fransikaye 👍🏾
I’m beyond my middle years. But I still need a little more time and knowledge through others to understand and therefore appreciate this kind of music. Now I love the art within the song and the artist!! Like you said ‘I really enjoy the journey’!!
True for me as well. 💜
yes in many ways Namjoon writes music for the 'thinkers' of this world for those who like to go a bit deeper than a pretty tune or catchie beat.
I love the ever changing, ever growing music that Namjoon keeps providing to us. Thank you tor your review.
Namjoon read the midnight library on in the soop season 2 and he talked about liking it!
When any piece of work has many interpretations then it becomes art and this mv indeed is just like many other BTS mvs and namjoon is THE ARTIST
completely agree
Yes it's like giving birth.
The only word I can come up with is BEAUTIFUL, RM is a true artist.💜💜💜🇺🇸🤟💜💜💜💜
RM is a true artist … full of gifts 💜🚲💜
So well said.. I'll second that. =D
Those loyal person who he shares many are US ARMy 💜
Well said! Great insight! RM is amazing! I’m so glad he was able to share a different side of himself
I am not sure anymore if I came here to learn about BTS or catch a glimpse of your thoughts. You're good at this! Keep going.
He makes me so proud, such a positive human being and wonderful young man. ❤️
🫰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I did wonder if my moniter was showing up correctly with bits of purple bits in the dress so I did wonder if that was a representation of ARMY. Thank you for mentioning it.
I was just talking to my 82 yr old dad about this very thing. He is now breaking down the form and creating art. The Beatles did this, too. They started to play with the music and see how it evolved. Radiohead is a more modern version of this and now BTS.
As an artist, if you live in the same comfortable place, it gets stale, and then you start to lose your passion. ( Sounds like Black Swan)
I adore that RM is willing to go there, and not only that, he is sharing it with us.
I love this mans mind, his concepts are unique .
but it is more than mere concepts it's about life
The Midnight Library is so good and such a great message. I agree that RM’s video definitely gives you the similar message as the midnight library. RM’s mono and V’s Layover are my all time favourite albums. I love RM’s music, his art is so thought provoking and he never disappoints. Can’t wait for his album!
I have to check out.
It’s about growing and evolving without feeling like you have to be something society or people tell you to be.
wow there are soooo many siginifications and meanings in this mv that i felt really dumb now hahahahahaha
so true BTS lead kpop to another level and beyond the pop
I love it that your doing this. This is the type of content ARMY's need.
As usual you give a clear and relatable critique of RM's work. I always enjoy listening to you. RM gives to us thoughtful songs and I find your opinions very interesting. Thank you.
I really appreciated your thoughtful, analytical and in-depth analysis of Namjoon’s beautiful song and MV Thank you
I totally agree with your assessment and appreciate your view. RM continues to inspire us to keep pushing forward and improve ourselves.❤
The more I listen to the song the more it grows on me.
I think your analogy is spot on!
CBTM is the most anxiety reducing song I’ve ever heard. Seriously it’s amazing. I love love love it!!!
I couldn't place my feelings about Joon's song until I read your comment. My sentiments exactly.
I totally agree! I find it so incredibly calming. I can't stop listening to it.
Beautiful, love it!❤
Thank you Fairlane... I've been waiting for you to react to this new one... as always a pleasure to see your take on it.
Thank you for your analysis. Now I can listen to this song again and be guided by your thoughts. Even the title of the album is making more sense now. 🙏💜
I interpreter the last girl as his soul been lost and finally when found it feel joy.
I love watching your take on BTS videos. You give such a great analysis on it's content. It is always so interesting looking forward to watching them
Why I like BTS so much is how they bring meaningful exciting story telling to their music, not boring at all. Not just song and dance which we love but keeping us always on the edge of our feet. Thank you
Thank you! RM never disappoints.
Thank you for reacting on the video. I love your channel, God bless.
When RM puts out music it hits the mind and heart. Thank you for healing my heart RM.
I like your interpretation. Thank you.
Maravillosa interpretación ❤
Esto es hermoso, como el corazón y la mente de Namjoon.
💜🇧🇷💜 thanks so much for sharing with us about this beautiful RM’s song
Thank you for your take on the meaning of this mv. No one else's explanation made sense. I'm really proud of him for taking a different direction in his music once again. I don't think there is anything he could do and not be successful at it 💜
I am most fascinated by the woman at the end. Yes, him but maybe also a woman who guides him toward some type of happiness? A life partner? Love this song and thank you!
Thank you for your review. As always, it is thought provoking and enlightening. 💜
Thank you. Truly, thank you. I hope he gets to see this someday.
Wow your assessment is so thorough and amazing. It’s about life and the evolution of himself and life itself. Thank you so much
gracias hoy te comence a seguir cuando vi tu video de Rm LOST, y estoy supremamente encantada con tus reflexiones, simplemente gracias
It brought me back to the Magic Shop and these lyrics:
"Don't forget that I found you in the end (He finds the woman at the end)
You were standing at the edge of a cliff (There was no cliff but in the video she too is lost and searching)
It's my last reason
Live
Live
A day when I hate being myself
The day I want to disappear forever
Let's make a door into your heart
If you open that door and go in
This place will wait
It's okay to trust me, I'll comfort you
It started with them wanting to comfort ARMY... all the while they needed comfort and understanding too.
There is NOTHING superficial about my MAGICK MAN, *KNJ.*
I SO appreciate his depth.
We can't spell ARMY w/o *"RM".*
*MAGICK!*

One of the most succint pov so far...thnk you...
Love your reactions
I loved your explanation 💜 RM is amazing 😢😊
My niece heard me singing the "i forgot to shower" part and she said "eeeew"! hahaha!
al ver el mv que fue espectacular me hizo recordar el libro de la biblioteca de la medianoche, el cual el disfruto en in the soop 2
Our Sexy NuKim Namjoon, "Come Back To Me" is such a smooth, raw and relaxing song Love It! 😏😍😘🤩💯👏🏽🕺🏽🎶🎤👑🥇🏆💜✌🏽🙏🏽🇺🇸 #RM #ComeBackToMe #RPWP
With this in mind, i'm going to watch the MV again
I have been humming this 2 days straight
I love your analysis, i felt it. THank you.:)
