Awesome video as always! Some of my picks, aside from Megaman 2, Ninja Gaiden and Journey to Silius: - Castlevania 3 "Aquarius" - Bucky O'Hare "Green Planet" - Conquest of the Crystal Palace "Mount Crystal"
Love this video! My favourite NES tracks. Mega Man 2 - Dr Wily Stage 1. Faxanadu - World Tree 01 Duck Tales - Moon Theme TMNT 2 The Arcade game - Scene 4 Part 1
You playing the drums in the beginning LOL!!! Love me some Brasel the Gamer and super Glad to see you making vids again. A lot of times I have music jamming while I play games so I miss out a lot. Or I don’t bc I’m still jamming out. I know it’s nothing special but I’ve always liked the song that plays on Mike Tyson’s Punch Out during the bike scenes.
Awesome channel! I recently discovered it, and am going through all your NES videos. As for your songs list, for a guy who loves Mega Man so much, I am surprised you did not pick a single soundtrack from Mega Man 2. Keep up the great work.
So great to see you making videos again, and this one was fantastic! Nice work! I always loved the music from Micro Machines. CodeMasters had some great tracks in their games, from what I recall.
Great to see another video from you Tony. Great choices of tracks. Some of my favorites include: Title Screen - Double Dragon Mission 1 - Double Dragon II Krang - Turtles II The Arcade Game Town Theme - Castlevania II I enjoy the Game Over tune from Life Force.
4:16 TMNT 2 on the NES is a master class on creating high octane kick ass music. You're right, every song is amazing and fits in with the show's theme without ripping it off. Even the character select screen gives me goosebumps because how well its executed. Glad that you have this game on the list!
Nice list! I'd say my favorite NES song of all time would be the intro music to Mega Man 2. Some other noteworthy songs are just about any song in Tecmo Super Bowl, and especially when in the regular season on offense. I also love the Double Dragon music in stage one.
Great stuff man! Aside from the obvious additions of Bloody Tears, Punch-Out, Wily, etc... I think you covered most of the great heavy hitters. I enjoy some good beat ‘em up tunes like the ones from Double Dragon, Battletoads and River City Ransom
LOVE the list dude! I am a fan of every single track you chose and your #1 choice both shocked me and made me laugh out loud (LOVED seeing you trying to surf in T&C Surf Designs). Loved seeing the MM3 title theme on the list along with several Sunsoft/Konami selections. And while Snake's Revenge is not a very good game IMO, that track you chose is superb! Too bad it wasn't in the original Metal Gear game, eh? In terms of tracks you didn't include, I would certainly consider MM2 Wily Stage 1, Blaster Master Stage 1, and perhaps a track from Super Spy Hunter as well (that entire soundtrack is bangin'!)! I know that you can't include all Sunsoft music in a list like this but man...they sure put together great music in their games didn't they? LOVED your Journey to Silius comments btw. The Stage 1/5 track is my personal favorite but you nailed it my friend. You can't go wrong with ANY music from that game. Lastly, I loved the Double Dragon intro to each track. I half expected to find the Double Dragon Stage 1 theme song on here (and that would be a worthy choice too). ;) Please continue to put together lists like these. LOVE videos like this!
Solid list. The Ninja Gaiden track on #3 is one of my all time favorites. All of the music in that game is top tier, it was so ridiculously ahead of it's time. The enter password music for either MegaMan 2 or MegaMan 3 was also a really good one. Koopa Troopa's theme when you when you win from Mario Kart 1 was also a good standout
Great list! I personally love the Stage 3 from Journey To Silius and Moon Theme from DuckTales the most out of these on the list, and I used both of them in an all-NES playlist mix I made earlier this year!
I also really love the ending theme credits from beating Wart in SMB2 - it reminds me a lot of the closing ending theme from SMRPG. Bubble Bobble is THE definition of an earworm. And FFIII's lost ocean them
One of the things that first sold me on the band Thrice was the last track on their first album not only named T & C, but the opening riff is the song itself.
Pretty much all of Street Fighter 2010's OST is spectacular. "A Little Background..," "City Lights," "Rooted," "Sand Dune," "Underwater," "Spaceway..." I could go on. It really is Junko Tamiya's most spectacular work on the system for me, and that includes Bionic Commando and Little Nemo. Love the gameplay, too, of course.
I had some pals in high school who had a band called 'The 8 Bits', who did punk rock/ ska covers of NES songs... they even had a horn section for their TMNT set... They started their songs by yelling "Up, up, down, down, left-rght, left-right, B, A, START!
I'm a fan of the music from Kirby's Adventure but that has kind of a different vibe from the stuff you included here XD Some that I never see mentioned anywhere would be: level 3 of Kabuki Quantum Fighter; level 1 of Jurassic Park (once it gets going about 40 seconds in) ; and the 50s/60s rock and roll of Snake, Rattle & Roll.
@@braselthegamer AHHH ok that explains it. Hit me up next time you need music, I got the hookup. ;) Nothing against Nikos stuff but even he has said he's going back to fix some of the reverb in his older stuff.
This video is fun! And it has a topic I'm passionate about: 8-bit music. I'd suggest looking no further than the (great) games developed by Natsume for the NES/Famicom, and you'll find real bangers, like, for example, the 1st stage in "Shadow of the Ninja", 3rd stage in "Dragon Fighter" or something else from "Abadox", "Shatterhand" or "S.C.A.T.". I'd like to mention some other favorites of mine: stage 1-1 in "Ninja Gaiden II", stage 1 in "Kick Master" and stage 1 in "Little Nemo: The Dream Master".
Very classy presentation, with the box art and credit to the composer. No-go on the Mega Man 3 tune. Mega Man 2 had several bangers. No-go on TMNT TAG. that must be nostalgia talking, because it stinks. No-go on T&C. Good call on Batman, Journey to Silius, Snake's Revenge, Ninja Gaiden. Ones that I like that are omitted here, due to limiting it to 10, no doubt. ;-) : Vampire Killer from Castlevania CV3 had two or three good tracks; one of the best games ever made for NES. CV2 even had a couple, though they got repetitive as they played so long in the game. Kid Icarus had a couple good 'uns too. I'm going to look and see if you did a Genesis one. I remember liking a song or two from Altered Beast and Revenge of Shinobi. ActRaiser for SNES had a kickin' soundtrack as well.
My top fav: Magician, Blaster master, Guardián legend, Castlevania 2, Adventure Island 2, Swords and serpents, Wizards & warriors, mega man 4, Kickmaster, Monster party, journey to silius, Maniac mansión, Astyanax, life force, Nintendo World cup and Batman.
may I suggest Shatterhand/Solbrain's soundtrack? if i had to chose i would pick "stage B" and "Stage E". I never forgot this game´s soundtrack and I´m 40 haha.
@@braselthegamer I love the game! I think it is VERY underrated and IMO it is an example of perfect difficulty in the NES era wich was a hard thing to come by. Def in my top 10 from back in the day. On a sidenote, i recently discovered Archon, have you played it?
Blaster Master Area 3 or Area 6 Guardian Legend Corridor 5 and 6 Castlevania 3 DC Aquarius Mega Man 2 Bubble Man stage Skate or Die 2 Half Pipe theme These are bangers for me.
I agree with you on almost everything except Ninja Gaiden.¨ Its not BAD, but its very generic and formulaic for he genre and unlike games like Megaman and Silius you can clearly tell its a chip-tune song. There are times when I hear a Megaman or Silius cover with REAL instruments and I have to listen to the original back to back to realize its a cover. If hearing them back to back there is no doubt which is real instruments and which isnt but its done in a way that if I dont have them back to back I dont see the difference. That would never happen with Ninja Gaiden, I KNOW its digital.
I like this video but I think the top ten could have been better . even though you had some on the list I'd pick duck tales ninja gaiden. check out rygar section z gradius life force Zelda. even double dragon burning desire and more.
One I would put on this list is the music from Silver Surfer. Not a fan of the game but the music is absolutely great. th-cam.com/video/ZQlLl2j5THQ/w-d-xo.html
Duckales shouldnt be in a top 100. in a top 10 is just disgraceful. In a top 10 NOSTALGIA list maybe,,,' but in a top ten songs? no... its a pathetic, stupid and ridiculous pick
Chip'N'Dale Rescue Rangers - Zone J
Ha! I got on a NES music kick tonight, and I jammed out to Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers stages F and J. Definitely the best for that game. Solid tunes.
Lagrange Point and Mouryou Senki Madara have fantastic OSTs
Awesome video as always! Some of my picks, aside from Megaman 2, Ninja Gaiden and Journey to Silius:
- Castlevania 3 "Aquarius"
- Bucky O'Hare "Green Planet"

My favourite NES tracks.
Mega Man 2 - Dr Wily Stage 1.
Faxanadu - World Tree 01
Duck Tales - Moon Theme
TMNT 2 The Arcade game - Scene 4 Part 1
Most of the tracks on Battle of Olympus
You playing the drums in the beginning LOL!!! Love me some Brasel the Gamer and super

Hey great to see you back and this was a fun video.
The title track to Pictionary goes harder than entire rock band catalogs
Yes, Life Force. Stage 3 with the flares. That song ROCKS!
Awesome list, Bras! LODS of EBANGERS on there!
Also, Robowarrior's stage 1 theme "Keep Moving" has always been a personal fav of mine.
Great video, Tony. So glad I got to preview that green screen content. Anyone else think the Journey to Silius song sounded like Rush?

You have a great ear for video game music, I like the last level of Rush n Attack, beat that game in the 80s, and still remember the music.
Great list! Good to see a new video from you
there’s literally no way i can pick 10 tracks from so many real bangers to choose from.
but you did so props.
Great tracks, so much nostalgia. Thanks for posting this video. Cheers

Thank you for acknowledging the great music in Snake's Revenge!
Solstice
Gremlins 2 anyone ? =/
Great list! Some good obscure picks too

There's only one track by ninja gaiden that Ive wanted smooth mcgroove to acapella forever. It's one of most favorite new tracks ever. Pushing onward
Did you add reverb to all the tracks or something? These sound superrrr reverby. Great list of some classic tunes so far.
Ha ! I noticed too. Maybe he's using the uncompressed tracks or something 😉
They're from Niko's channel.

The ending theme of Double Dragon II is the best two part grand opus of the entire NES in my opinion.
You couldn't have picked a more perfect song transition theme!!

What is the music you are playing in your transitions?
