    Awesome job putting this together, Brasel. Dang these edits must have taken a long time. It's seamless and accurate to how I also feel about Castlevania 3. It's always been my favorite of the original trilogy but man... it's hard as balls!
    Great work, man!

    This was the last game my grandfather bought me before he passed away, it has incredible sentimental value.

    The ravens here are a game-killer for me too, at that point it's practically luck to proceed

    I recommend the Japanese version fan translated to English... its like night and day :)

    Great video, Tony. But man, you should so play the Japanese version. It was only made arbitrarily harder in America due to the rental market. In the Japanese version, a lot of the rage quit inducing enemy placements are absent.

      Yeah! And the extra character "Grant" can actually throw his knife in the Japanese version. His default weapon is a ranged attack! The Western release removes this feature...

      Totally agree, the Japanese version feels brilliant.

    I beat this one a few years ago and I loved it. It's a nice feather in the cap to say you've conquered it.

    hey great video, i like how you add a personal touch to it, looks like there's a lot of good content on your channel, its been a while since i've watched it

    Castlevania III is definitely the hardest of the NES CV games and I give props to those that can beat it as the final battle is just WAY too difficult with three forms of Dracula to beat. The worst part for me was always the Ghost Ship stage. That was the part that generally killed me the most when I played the game as a kid.

    Another solid video, man. CV3 is one of my favorites, even with the mutually shared annoyances. Sometimes charm goes a long way! And that OST. So iconic.

    I never thought Ninja Gaiden was hard. Just cruel that the end bosses will send you back very far after dying. I loved C2 but C3 was ok.

      True It's difficulty is really overhyped. When I beat it I didn't get the satisfaction I did when I beat CV3.

    Top 5 NES game and the best CV game IMO. Dracula's Curse is timeless.

    Hey Brasel, I just noticed the Blues jersey, are you from STL? Can you recommend some local stores to pick up cheap games, Thanks!

    • @braselthegamer
      @braselthegamer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in the area, yeah. My favorite local stores are Grumpy Bob's in Maryville IL and Game Trader 2 in St. Charles.

      Thank you!!! I've been to Grumpy Bob's but hadn't heard of Game Traders 2, Ill have to check them out.

      @braselthegamer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just like Grumpy Bob's because they play my videos in the store. lol. They're great actually. There's Trade N Games out in Fenton too. They've got a good selection and probably some of the better prices, but it's a haul for me so I don't go out there often.

    The pain is still fresh months later, so I know your struggle well! I'm almost to the point where I may pick up Castlevania III recreationally just for the sheer brilliance in level and music design, but damn...Stage 9 and 10 will make you question your gamer cred, no matter how far it goes back.
    Glad I could help inspire you to finally put Drac to rest, my friend, and good show! #Salute :-)

    I feel that it’s not harder than CV1 it’s just way longer. Stages are way bigger and there’s more of them on top of the branching paths and other characters. This is a huge game compared to other action platformers on the NES and it’s probably my favorite game on the system. So much replayability and fantastic presentation and sure it’s hard but it’s super well balanced too, every section designed with every character in mind.

    I remember when I got this as a kid and how much of a struggle I had with it back then, but I kept hammering at it and remember the day I finally beat it I was jumping all around and yelling like a crazy person. It was great, but haven't tried again since then lol!! It's stayed in my collection however with a fond memory but just not one to go back to over and over lol!

    Cool review! I personally love rng like this, since it keeps you on your toes even after playing the game many times. Even really good games, if too static, can start to lack resistance once mastered.

    I love Castlevania III. As someone who has finished both American and Japanese versions, the American version is MUCH harder. You won't find the bats at the pendulums in the Japanese version (Akumajou Densetsu).

    You should try and get the axe triple shot before tackling Dracula.

    Didn't like CV3 as much as a kid- was more a Simon fan. Recently after sinking time in and beating it with all character routes I fell in love. Atmospherically it's like CV4, and it's one of the only games I've gotten huge satisfaction from beating. As a hardcore CV fan, I think CV3 is the best of the series. The Netflix series didn't disappoint either

    Castlevania 3 is definitely a brutal one. I've gotten to Dracula but never beat it for some reason. I should really sit down and check it off the list. Nice going!

    While I have yet to beat it, I oddly do best at this game compared to 1,4, and Dracula X.

    This is almost perfect but the absurd difficulty is crazy.
    Pal/Japanese is way way easier than our beefed up version to score more "rentals"
    i bet i rented it 60 times as a kid
    Im on "timeout" going aludcard route somewhere around stage 9-4 .

    The Japanese version is waaaaa... Just kidding. I have never beaten a single castlevania game... but TMNT was always a kick to the nuts. I beat it a couple of years ago and until now I haven't even wanted to look at it on the shelf lol.

    I've read online that playin difficult retro games can actually cure baldness...DONT STOP PLAYIN', BRAS!!
    Personally, I love CV3 and yea it does have some bs areas but eh it adds to the longevity of the game and actually feels rewarding once you complete it.
    Also, Grant D'Nasty has a sweet AYASS.
