Before Our Makeover, This Mom Hadn't Been To The Hair Salon Since The '80s

When daughter Kayla brought her mom Cathy in, her hair was from the '80s and her wardrobe was 15 years old -- so spoiler: we helped her make some updates!

The reason her hair looked so frizzy was because she was dry brushing her naturally wavy/curly hair. I bet if she learned how to properly take care of it she would've love her hair. There was really no need to cut it and straighten it, just learning how to care for it.

The reason her hair looked so bad was because she never learned how to take care of curly hair. Rule number one of curly hair is to never brush it dry. It needs to be wet. But because she is brushing it dry it looks fifty times more frizzy

I love how he didn’t shit on people for using boxed dye like most hair stylists do. He just kindly explained how to properly do it to get the best results instead of telling people to just go to a salon. Not everyone can afford $100-$200 to get their hair done every 2-3 months.
