In this video I did some trout fishing with the Ozark Trail Trout Fishing Kit. I caught a bunch of trout on it, and it's certainly a good value for being only $5 at Walmart.

In my experience they love the crawfish, same for bass. Can catch almost anything anywhere with those little crayfish.

I don't know if you ever figured it out. The hellgrammites in the kit are from Case Plastics. The lil hellgrammite. They are available in the same colors as well as a few other colors.

I have, under a float/bobber with a little split shot to carry it down. As someone mentioned above, I usually try to get it on a smaller hook so when they commit to it, they're more likely to not notice/feel the hook until it's too late. I wouldn't call wacky rigged worm a "go to" for trout specifically but it can work. My two cents, cheers!

Use a mosquito hook, Egg hook, or even a small bait holder hook with a split shot pinched up top for rigging the wacky worm, you can also thread the worm up through the shank to the eyelet to hid the hook really well.

I agree. Since your last video with the other kit. I went to the Ol' WalMart, and bought two of them. Plus two of the trout kits. Well worth the $5 a box. Great video bud.

I just purchased a new ultralight set up! I got a Lew's mach speed spinning reel and a Kastking Resolute ultralight spinning rod. I love this rod! I highly recommend this to you! It has micro guides. So it casts like a dream! Take it from an old man my friend this is a great rod!

No, I was using $2 jigheads from Walmart. 1/16 oz, but with a smaller size hook (size 6)

You like catching trout?? You should really learn how to fly fish. It seems really hard to learn but I just started a few weeks ago and it is so easy and you're casting so much more accurate, and you get twice as many fish. And fly fishing just seems a lot more rewarding in the end.
