      I want a really spiced up menu in the same vein of brawl to pm. Like ultimates is colorful. I hope it looks super serious in comparison. Just to show how the games standout against each other

      @@blazeneo7663 Footstool in PM was mapped to buttons to prevent fraudulent accidental footstool garbage.
      You could set it to be actually used on PURPOSE and it could be teched.
      It was implemented well enough.

      Redマキシ Dash Attack Canceled Up Smash, a Brawl technique. For some characters it made you slide and up smash and for others you can land your dash attack and up smash afterwards, which is the Gatling combo. I never actually played Brawl so I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty not every character can do the Gatling combo.

      @@salj.5459 One of the most famous DACUS users was Snake. At certain percentages, and against certain characters, he could hit you with the somersault, initial setting of the mortar, and the mortar charge in one fell swoop. It was hella satisfying to pull off.

    Airdashing is a mechanic that I foresaw my characters doing in a game that I someday wanna create. Glad someone else thought about how fun this mechanic could be

You choose 2 characters the 2nd character will not be playable like Marvel and you choose 1 of 4 assist that being their 4 specials and theirs a new assist button in the controls when pressed in gameplay your assist comes like an assist trophy and for characters like Samus or Roy with chargable Neutral B's you can hold the assist button to make them hold it and to balance it they always have base knockback so you cant freely combo into it and kill with a setup like Rapid Jab into Falcon Punch or something like that

      They aren’t on some characters. Samus has nair reverse hits on both hits of nair and her uptilt has a reverse hitbox that’s quite strong

    Love the run/dash platform drop, very Rivals-esque also fills the function of having something akin to wavedrops in Project M. I can dig it.

      Hell no. Just leave it as it is. Waste all that time adding in a toggle somewhere in the menu, then coding it into the game for something that doesnt need to be there. No one downloading a mod with wavedashing, moonwalking, and increased combo game is going to care about ledge trumping.

      Ledge trumping is horrible. Especially in an ultimate and smash 4 engine. Ledge trumping isnt as bad with actually ledge sweet spotting. But even so, the ledge always being a viable option seriously stunts the edge guarding game by reducing the edge guarders options.

    if you make the knockback on moves higher again, they'd act a lot more natural. Combos that are consistently true tend to only work on fastfallers in pm/melee, there's no reason to force tons of moves to work this way when it makes the knockback look and feel unnatural. otherwise great work so far. You probably shouldn't be able to upB after the airdash to keep it more fair for how much burst movement it gives you for free, while also being a free crossup.

      Ness prolly can't be killed if he gets access to both airdodge and PK thunder, so as a Ness player please do allow upB out of airdodge.

      A mod to switch from casual techs to pro ones would've been nice tho.

      @@Benloadeon A toggle isn't necessary, when they have always had the option to play lower difficulties, specifically with items/stages that don't fit and with other people who can't destroy them.
      That said, Smash could teach people about the ceiling more and other games are similar.
      Also Melee did have a single button special mode so maybe you could have something like that here.

      @Lydia It would be a lot easier to ledge trump people with this mod and ledge trump back airs just look like you actually deserve the kill, so I'm going with that. Also melee didn't really have characters that can only use tether recoveries that are just going to get absolutely screwed by ledge hogging.

    Literally everything but reverse hits and ledge hogging is amazing to me but honestly you could just gimmie that air dash I'd be just fine that is actually the coolest shit and something I've been wanting for so long it just makes perfect sense and is dope as hell

      Reverse hits are amazing dude. They are awesome DI mix-ups. Ever watched a top falcon or sheik player in Melee? Ledge hogging is also superior to trumping cause the ledge isn't free anymore. A free ledge means it is way too risky to edge guard since you are punished for it when the other played gets back(Since most recoveries are super good with a free ledge).

That's basically exactly what I think is the best way to go ledge hogs can happen in very situational situations but they aren't the go to and ledge trumping isnt even a thing ultimately I can see the benefits of melee to ultimate ledge mechanics but I think Slaps is the best and most fair

      I personally feel like if a move is supposed to send you one way it should send you that way everytime it happens in the other smash games I dont feel a oh I got outplayed moment I feel like it's a "silly smash moment" at the end of the day I just prefer the consistency over some of the strange mechanics smash has sometimes had it's just one thing unpicked out that I didnt like I'm just happy a modding scene is even happening for this game in the first

      @J SI never said that and heres why sweet spots sour spots or just generally different hit boxes are more interesting and fair because often times it's not even easy or consistent to hit reverse hits and they just feel random and unneeded when there are much better things you could put into a characters moveset to create mixup potential

      @J S but sweet and sour spots are supposed to be in the game I have a hard time believe that reverse hits were originally intentional and it's not like I'm saying it has to be easy hell a lot of them can actually be hard to hit but reverse hits are literally doing the opposite of what the move normally does that doesnt really seem ok in my eyes

      I mean it depends on if hes figured out how to give characters moves from other fighters, then he could use Fox's Shine as a base. No idea if hes been trying to do that though

      I think the airdash stuff just looks scary cuz it's new, if you could play around with it yourself I'm sure it'd feel pretty natural. I actually played around with making interruptable airdashes in Melee a few months ago and it felt like a brand new game. The only problem with it was that you could airdash more than once in a single jump (and you could airdash into airdash), so it totally trivialized recovery, but I'm sure Nyx has taken care of that already. Point is, the combo applications were fucking bonkers, it was like playing a totally different game and I loved it. Don't knock it till ya try it.

    This movement is pretty awesome looking, my only suggestion at the moment, is to maybe forget about ledge hogging, I think it’s just such an easy way to guard to stage, and is going to hurt heavies more, since they’re normally pretty slow, and might not keep up with all this movement in the first place, but keep up the good work

      The I frames could be refreshed a set number of times that most characters will be able to utilize. Typically heavy characters in pm don't have trouble getting on stage from ledge because their massive hit box. No refresh at all seems to much though. I can see lots of errors from trying to do things to quickly or needing to immediately get off ledge for I frames.

    Ugh. I’ve honestly been so hyped for this since I first saw it, but seeing ledge-hogging added might’ve just killed my excitement. It’s honestly the one Smash feature aside from tripping that really ruins gameplay for me.

    Looks great. Easy shield drops is also nice to have. I’d increase the ledge regrabs before losing invincibility to 3 or do 6 like PM. Also hope air dashing can be toggled on or off.

      kncraftian games It’s a big game changer so we don’t know how far people can take it. Looks like it will make for crazy combos, but I like the balance between offense and defense that Melee and PM have. Still want to mess around with it on though.

    Would it be possible to add a function that gives players outlines similar to what was done on Smash 4? I have issues seeing characters that have alot of the same color on them because it blurs together for me, making it hard to discern what is exactly happening and what my enemy is doing.

    This is absolutely insane. I only have two concerns: 1, can ledge hogging be a toggle, cuz' it would make the characters with bad recovery even worse. 2, how is the average Joe expected to obtain and apply this thing? I and many others have no idea how to homebrew our Switches for this stuff. Or has emulation progressed further than I know?

      @@doc8125 in brawl and smash 4 it was impossible to escape Ganondorf's side b and used to kill the other player before, making it a very useful kill option.
      In Ultimate, now you can escape it very easily, and if they don't escape it Ganondorf dies first, this move used to be one of Ganondorf's best.

And it is a very intended mechanic that you can mash out of command grabs, it is a balancing act that you can cancel the move, since it ignores shield, all command grabs act this way, so no reason for ganons to be diffrent

      Also, I was just using Ganon as an example because hes the one I thought of first, there are some others who could also use buffs like this

    Airdashing really kills this for me. Everything looks so awesome, but then that.. Air dodging is supposed to be risky, not free.

      I think they both exist independently of each other. For invincibility use air Dodge for comboing and quick movement use the air dash. It's like how air dashes work in other fighting games. No invincibility

    While this does look fun, I like the increased Melee-esque tech options and the new stuff. I don't see myself ever taking the chance of modding my switch because I'm too afraid of potentially screwing it up for other games to be released officially for Switch.

      D.Linix Granted, airdash seems a bit easier to program in. Not going to pretend I know how, but it should be as easy as removing the flag that puts you in lag after you air dodge.

      None of the Switch controllers besides GC, if you count that, have analog triggers. It would just be dumb to add light shielding when most people can't take advantage of it.

      Betty Bros I wouldn’t say that it’s an unnecessary feature. It definitely has its uses in high level play, just watch how often light shields are used in Melee. They’re a great defensive option for a more aggressive game, so I think they would fit perfectly in this mod on another trigger.

    I'll have to try it out but I think the airdashing might be a bit too far for me. Fully optimized combos might kill any character at any percent with that mechanic active

    Yoooo! Super hyped for this. Not a fan of air dashing though. DJC aerials were specific to certain characters making them unique and all that jazz. Giving every character a DJC-esque combo options will buff top tiers more than low tiers because any buff to top tiers ultimately a nerf for low tiers.
