I think yes, you can use a 7mm knitting needle and knit different panels using the measurement in the video
Do you think I could hand knit this ?If yes what size needles would you suggest?
im somewhat new to hand knitting and not sure how to do the distress look on knitting needles but i'd assume larger size needles would work best

she said in the video that you can't really avoid it, she just didn't pull them all the way down, however, they will end up dropping all the way down as you stretch and wear it over time!
i think you could use a very thin white thread (or whatever color your sweater is) and make a little knot where you want the stitches to stop dropping... at least in my brain that seems like it could work
