We bought tickets on Christmas evening for next years performance in May. We were lucky to get some of the last seats at all. I’m 28 years old and seeing EC in RAH live will be a dream come true. 21 Nights is one of my all time favourite albums and to be where that one was recorded will be epic. 😮💨 will be travelling from Germany to see him.
Lucky to have been there. It was a rare thing to see Eric talking to someone in the audience for quite a while and then to sing Happy Birthday for his Aunt Sylvia was great! Thanks for posting
Es ist tröstlich zu sehen und zu hören, dass Eric Clapton auch mit 79 Jahren noch so voller Musikalität steckt. Er begeistert mich und rührt mich zu Tränen, beides gleichzeitig. Einfach einmalig. Danke!
I have always been a fan , but have never seen live , I know it would be memorable, there are two bands that ,to me transcend time ,pink floyd and Eric Clapton, I'm old now but the little hairs stand to attention when either one plays ,I guess I'm locked in time and ,hell that's ok . Thanks for keeping it real Eric. Rock lives on through those that listen , rock on .
@Haroun-El-Poussah I never heard of him saying that. He admired many musicians. And anyway this person is speaking for himself. Music is subjective. There is no such thing as best objectively. It's a question of taste. Blues based playing is the most appealing for many of us. It's why Jimi Hendrix is so loved. So don't speak for someone else. Keep it personal if possible. Music is the best 👌 🎸
@@prajnachan333 "Blues based playing is the most appealing for many of us. It's why Jimi Hendrix is so loved." Maybe because so many don't practise enough to do something else than the Pentas... Basicly, it's a little the same thing as for Gilmour or Clapton : you like it because most of the stuff (at least Hendrix's hits) is EASY TO PLAY !!!
I was there and will never forget the emotion. This man is really good!!! He has continuously proved a sincere love for music and a great talent. I love him with all my heart. Greetings to him, from Romania!
First saw you at Fillmore West in SF, as a very young teenager. The venue was open, we all sat on the floor, or some of us stood up and danced freely. I was totally blown away; those are the happiest memories, your music brings me great joy, taking me on a journey beyond this world
I saw him several years ago in Atlanta where the Jakob Dylan and the Wallflowers did a short set before him . Jakob then grabbed the Mike and said, We know you all came to see Eric so we are gonna stop and sit back and enjoy the show with you. He was apparently he's a humble young man and also a great artist in his own rite. I've been listening to Clapton since the 60s and he hasn't lost a step!
Thanks for this! I was actually in this particular show flew a few days ago from this date from the SF bay area.. i saw myslf in the vid.. i actually sat a few seats from John Mclaughlin and his wife. The were so nice and was able to take a picture with him.. also did the RAH tour a few hours before the show and show how the stage rig assembled.. i would forever cherish this day. 5/20/24
I first heard Eric when he released Behind the Mask in 1986 when I was 16. My mum bought me my first guitar from Denmark Street in London a week later for £100 and I remember trying to play the beginners' classics - Layla (the intro only) and Cocaine! He's been the biggest inspiration to me throughout my life - not just with playing music but with life itself. His music touches the soul. Thanks for posting this video.
I must have been more inspired by listening to Yoda in a "Don't try, do it" pattern. I started at the same time as you, within a year, I was able to play the solos on Whole Lotta Love, Another Brick in the Wall and Sunshine of your love... I wouldn't say that Clapton became an influence on me, unlike Fripp, Zappa, McLaughlin, Holdsworth, Steve Howe, Santana when he was involved into fusion, Belew and shitloads of others. There is obvious stuff from Gilmour since I got involved into a PF tribute band, but less than people may think, it's just because Gilmour is rather easy to play and you know, when you have to make a living, it's not by doing prog or fusion you will, at least for all those who began music in the mid 80's...
There’s something spiritual about experiencing E.C. live. He and his wonderful friends transcended right into our hearts. Tears were pouring, even from the guys who have ‘seen it all before’. Clapton is God

Living too far from important venues, didn't miss my chances of seeing him. In 1991 unforgattable show at Gigantinho Gym ("Little Giant") in my hometown Porto Alegre. Once again here in 2011 at a larger outdoors place, with "Going Down Slow" as the haunting opener. Now with tickets to a 7000 seats last-minute additional gig in Sao Paulo (4 hours drive to the airport, then a 1 hr flight) Sept29. If he ever comes back again to my country, I'll be there.
I wonder how much the four empty seats on the front row cost ? I Saw EC with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in High Wycombe town hall with about 40 in the audience.

Hate to say it but the sound quality sucks, like they used one microphone hanging from the ceiling instead of getting it off the mixer.
Its a joke right?
@@LCarvalho-x5b No, it's an honest opinion from a recording studio engineer.
