Love this information. I still have the keifer grains that I ordered from Donna 6 years ago. My chickens, dogs and I stay healthy drinking keifer.

I’ve been drinking 3 cups of homemade organic kefir everyday for 3 1/2 months now and unfortunately my LDL has actually gone up quite a bit. I eat very healthy overall so I’m not sure kefir helps with cholesterol at all.

I did a deep dive research on healing my gut and found you! I started with the easy kefir and just recently I ordered the kefir grains. I can already see a change in my digestion after a month or two. The feel better kefir smoothie with all of the ingredients is absolutely delicious 😋. My gut is not totally back where it needs to be, BUT I am starting all over from grown zero 😢 Your website is soooooo helpful ❤ Thank You 😊

Hi @lulamamie8524! What was the cause of gut issues? I’m curious if you had H-Pylori bacteria as I did. Taking antibiotics to get rid of the bacteria messed up my gut system and it is taking longer to heal than I expected. Let me know if that is the case with your gut issues as well.

You just told my story too.
Agree with everything you said. I call all of my cultures ' 'my pets' because I feed them and take care of their needs. In return, they take care of me.

@@str6470 My mother had gut issues most of her life. IBD, IBS, IBC…… So I guess that I inherited them. I just wish we knew then what we know today. I have also had several bouts of diverticulitis 😖 In trying to find foods (Let food be thy medicine) that would help my gut issues I found Donna, as well a lot of homesteaders that make a lot of fermented foods and drinks. The antibiotics that I have taken over many many many years; I believe now that they have contributed to my gut issues. So I am sort of starting from ground zero to build a healthy colony of bacteria in my entire body. I highly recommend Donna! She absolutely knows what she is talking about!!!!!!! 🙌🏻 Have a lovely rest of your day 🌸🌼

I went for my blood test at the end of July to check my cholesterol levels, which were elevated. I had been drinking kefir daily for three months. There was no improvement in my cholesterol. I am holding out hope it will work by October when I get retested.

What good timing you have! I just started doing kefir again about a month ago from keeping it in freezer storage for 4 years. It had no problem starting up again. and after the first week , the grains were doubling each week there after. I usually just eat the extra grains. I am very interested in to see if it lowers cholesterol. Over all Im starting to see benefits in how Im feeling so far. Keep up the good content!

Hi Donna. Could you explain why my grains hate pasteurized and love my raw goats milk. Does the raw just leave too many enzymes to compete and it's kefir still healthy if I just use my raw milk? Thank you

I like to add ground spices to my Kefir. We keep whole Cardamom, Fennel, Star Anice, and Ceylon Cinnamon. we grind the whole spices and add to Kefir. it tastes great in it.

I am waiting my first batch of Natto to finish ( 10 hours to go) I gobble down all my yogurts. Even my 7 week old kitten loves them all. No blood work done since beginning “Cultured Food Life” have begun using the cultured vegetable cultures due to open mushrooms today. Used the salt only before. Feeling better since starting. I have had several bouts of diverticulitis. My plan now is to eat all of the fermented foods and drink that I can. Can’t hurt, and certainly it will help my body build up healthy bacteria in my body that I NEED! Just my take on it 🌸🌼

When you have your kefir smoothie in the morning, do you have it away from other foods, drinks and supplements, do you wait before you eat something, can you have the smoothie with lets say a salmon steak in the morning? Does kefir behave differently on an empty stomach compared to eating along side it?
Do you recommend having kefir 2 or 3 x's day particularly if a person is struggling with illness incl digestive issues like crohns, colitis, celiac?
In Canada, where can we get HMOs?
    Thanks Donna
