the SIngapore airlines plane was a B777-200ER. It can do the route directly from Istanbul to Singapore. The 300ER which Singapore airlines also has can fly even further: all the way from Singapore to the UK

Great. It was 3 or 4 years since I was at the airport in Istanbul and it was kinda shocking that smoking was allowed everywhere. I saw someone smoking with an ashtray on the table at a Burger King or McDonalds on the airport and asked a guy who worked there. He said it was allowed all over the place there. If they now comply with European laws and most of the rest of the world's laws, it's great:) But I was not making up stories here, hehe..
Fair enough! Thankfully smoking is not allowed anywhere. They have posted signs everywhere claiming you will be find a hefty sum but frankly I have not heard anyone being fined. It is pretty much left to the common sense of patrons. If you are a smoker, the business owner will try and not loose a customer.
But THY ain't the only one. Many other airlines do that too. Hong Kong Airlines here in my hometown, many mainland Chinese carriers and American carriers fly both types as if maintenance was free.
First time I flew with Turkish Airlines had been in 2011 July/Aug for my trip from Sydney, Aust to Sarajevo, BiH. I flew with Turkish Airlines on the leg from Hong Kong and Istanbul the return journey being the same. One of the reasons I chose to do so is that I had read somewhere they are one of the carriers with the newest fleet of 777s and aircraft around. Given then, they are part of the top 10. Furthermore, the government having a big stake means safety is paramount.

Çekim için iyi yer bulmak zor oluyor ayrıca vakit bulamıyorum pek. Bir de Havalimanı yoğunluğundan bütün inişleri 05-23'e verdiler. Artık flyinnden sadece kalkış videosu çekilebilir adam gibi. Güzel bir tripod aldım ama bu videoları Flyinn'in balkonundan dışarı doğru elimi uzatarak çekiyorum başka türlü direkler giriyor. Tripod ile dahada geride durmam lazım.
I love Turkish Airlines, I absolutely adore Istanbul. I have been visiting Istanbul every year for the last 11 years. BUT their airport has a very messy organization and it's very unpleasant.
you just need help to get rid of your prejudicies, extrem christian enemities and so on...racists and extrem christs shouldnt comment on such technicall themes as planes and airports... you better comment on things like, crosses, chruches, priesters... this theme is some number too huge for you...
