  • We go inside a musical instrument factory in Pakistan to see how instruments are made. I'll show you the entire factory, the various machines used for manufacturing, and the entire manufacturing process of a musical instrument.
    This factory, located in Sialkot, produces all sorts of instruments for export outside of Pakistan. They make harps, flutes, kots, Arab kots, bouzouki, Irish bouzouki, bodhran, bagpipes, and more.
    Also, see my tour of a cricket bat factory in Pakistan • Inside a Pakistani Cri... .
    Or how cricket balls are manufactured • This Is How Cricket Ba... .

    One thing that concerns me... my family owned a sawmill amd woodworking shop. So this is from experience. So.. the amount of sawdust they have and especially with them using large ground level fans... there is a real risk of explosion. Yes... EXPLOSION. Sawdust can become explosive when the air becomes filled with it and an ignition source(such as the fan motors) is present. Not only is there a risk of explosion but they have sawdust all over the place too. A normal fire would ravage that place in a hurry. Dry piles of sawdust that have been allowed to lay and dry out become super flammable... I found out the hard way when I was only 14. I hope they invest into dust collection systems and start better housekeeping practices. I’ll probably never meet the people that work there since I live in rural America... but I still care for them and want them to go home to their loved ones every day. Cheers Karl and thank you for another wonderful video. 🙏

      These people are dying from hunger. Their craftsmanship is being sold for thousands of dollars to so many countries of the world and yet those same countries call them terrorists. They don't get even 20% of the product they're making. Exploding from sawdust is the least of their worries.

    • @TsunauticusIV
      @TsunauticusIV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@fahimshehzad2113 safety should be a priority for everyone. Every person should be able to have a reasonable expectation of a safe workplace. As far as “terrorists” go... not sure who is looking at these people as terrorists but that’s not cool. Where I live in the US... people mostly view Pakistani people as normal and kind people that have just been exploited. I think times have changed tho. Yeah... not too long ago you would likely find a fair few people that would just call the. “Sand n word terrorists” but that’s no longer a viewpoint I’ve been able to find lately. I do talk to a LOT of people now about foreign topics. I do have family that live in southern US states and they are still absolutely backwards in their views of the Middle East and Asian countries. I’ll admit it’s sad and yes I do educated them as much as possible. Sadly... some are just too far gone. I’m vividly aware of the way some people view those parts of the world but it’s up to use to educate others and to let them know the truth. The majority of Pakistani, and other Middle Eastern and Asian countries, are beautiful people that deserve much better lives and don’t deserve the stigmas associated. All races/ethnicities have dark points and have had bad pasts... there is no superior “race”/ethnicity and we all need to work together for a common good vs fighting. Hopefully some day we can get there but unfortunately we have governments, and power players, that do not want to see peace. Peace hurts their wallets. We need to work together and creat positivity and stop the hatred.

    Great craftsmanship guys but just as one commentator commented about poor housekeeping practices (this place should be spick and span and well looked after) there was a huge dump of garbage right in front (or back side) of their business which was a sore sight. Companies like these who earn good have a corporate social responsibility (Sialkot Businessmen are known for it - they built their own airport, roads and infrastructure and started their own Airline) for their workplace, local community and neighborhood. As Pakistanis too, they have a responsibility to let their foreign clients respect their work ethics and employment and environment friendly working conditions - I hope the owner would read these comments and take them in good faith.
    Kudos for everything else!

These men face having permanent ringing in their ears, deafness, loss of vision through major trauma to the eye or through constant exposure to dust will develop conjunctivitis and cataracts. Their lungs will develop occupational asthma and they carry about 40% greater risk of lung cancer and even higher risk of carcinomas in the nose and mouth. Their skin will be constantly dry and itchy, and higher likelihood to develop allergy reactions. Not to mention the avulsion, amputation and degloving injuries from the machinery that will cause permanent disability and life threatening bleeding. Yes, exactly. Given the circumstances they do some lovely work there. But that entire factory is a health & safety nightmare. Unfortunately I'm afraid this is at least partly because of ignorance/illiteracy. Because a lot of basic safety doesn't even need to cost any money. For example some simple push blocks or push sticks for guiding the wood on a sawing machine can easily be made by the workers themselves just from some scrap wood pieces. And that would already reduce much risk of people losing their fingers.

    It’s amazing what this factory produces but if this factory was in NZ it would be shut down. I can’t believe the workers aren’t even wearing steal cap boots, safety glasses, ear muffs, thick gloves etc. It saddens me that they probably make a lot of profit but don’t care about the workers safety :(
    Little things like personal protective equipment can prevent so many avoidable injuries.
