    I just installed the A129 into my 2020 Forester after watching this video. What you can't see in this video is the curtain airbag seen on the A-pillar continues all the way to the back of the door(under the headliner). There is also a curtain airbag over the rear passenger door. I don't recommend just tucking the wire for the rear camera up into the headliner. It may interfere with the airbags if they are deployed. I chose to run the cable down the A-pillar and under the door sills. The 6 meter cable that came with the A129 was not long enough. I had to order the 8 meter cable.

    Nice 2020 Forester Sport bro. Your installation video is the BEST, I am glad that my family only owned Subaru and this will help a ton. Thanks!
    Updated after one year. This video is the best, the dash cams look beautiful in my Legacy and wife's Outback, and next would be one install for a 2011 Tribeca we just purchased for our son, Limited loaded and one owner with pristine condition, bluetooth, homelink, power seats, heated seats, backup camera, navigation work like a gem. One suggestion though, I installed the dash cam to the right of the rearview mirror so it's easier to adjust the mirror for driver's viewing!

    Excellent video, I'm adding my A129 into my new (to me) 2020 Outback and was wondering the best way to remove the paneling on the left, was not expecting you to show how to wire it for the rear, VERY HELPFUL.
    On my other car I never properly installed the rear camera as I thought I'd need to remove the headliner, never thought of just going along the outside edge.

    Hey man! thank you for this. My car (Forester ‘19) is exactly like this. I followed all steps and I was able to install it. The only challenging part was removing the rubber thing at the back where you pass the usb wiring. Putting it back was a pain as the rubber separated from the plastic lock. I was able to put it back on both ends after several painful tries.

    Good video. One question. Getting the grommets out was easy…getting them back in the same way does not work. How did you tuck that small rubber rim back into the opening? That is a key factor in its water tightness. Key thing you left out out of your video.

    For anyone that doesnt have a fancy wire fishing tool for the rear liftgate hose portion - you could try to use a round chopstick instead, and push it through from the left hose opening towards the right hose opening.
    Tape it up with your usb end and pull it through like the wire fishing tool. I didnt need to grease either. You can push the rubber hose accordian together back and forth slowly to help feed the cable through. Worked for me. 🤷😅. Getting those hose clips off in the step before are a royal pain though!

    • @victor7wy
      @victor7wy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh, and feeding the cable through the rear lift gate frame opening was a pain too!
      Try feeding the USB cable from underneath the frame through a paperclip that you're holding from above the frame, and use that to guide the cable upwards. Bend the paperclip into whatever shape you need to have it catch the cable and be small enough to fit through the hole.
