I converted from Presbyterianism at 49 - 9 years ago. I converted to Traditional RC 2 years ago. V2 Catholics have been ROBBED and they don’t even know it. The first time I walked through the doors of an SSPX Church before Mass EVERYTHING INSTANTLY MADE SENSE. This was the true unadulterated faith: rules, responsibilities, clarity , reverence...plus kids charging around the place. I think Traditional Roman Catholicism will come back in full force sometime after I am dead and gone.
Me too a brand new convert and I will look into sspx.
Why not FSSP instead of SSPX? All the tradition, none of the drama.

Wow! That was mind blowing. I always wondered about Vatican II and this makes perfect sense to me. This is what happens when we compromise with the world and all it's poisonous ways. The Sedevacantists have used this to rebel against Christ's church, it has caused division and confusion. I keep it simple, I pray the Holy Rosary and ask Mother Mary to protect me from all heresy, lies and confusion. As I said before, this channel is the best on TH-cam and outshines the rest. WRONG. Those who rebelled against Christ's Church were the Modernist Vatican II popes, beginning with John XXIII. John REFUSED to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, calling the Fatima seers "prophets of doom." He had the perfect opportunity to consecrate Russia, in union with ALL the bishops and he did not. He disobeyed. The heresies of the documents of VII are apparent and have been revealed by priests like the late Fr. Gregory Hesse and Malachi Martin and of course, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. These men knew their faith, saw the attacks on Doctrine, Dogma, Holy Writ and Sacred Tradition. You know NOTHING. The apostasy in which we now live was prophesied in Sacred Scripture and confirmed by the APPROVED apparitions of the Holy Virgin at Fatima, LaSalette and Quito, Ecuador. I'm to begin taking RCIA classes next week, and had heard of the Vatican II through online message boards. Thank you so much for the clarity, father. I do think too much blame has been laid at the feet of V II, considering the staggering number of changes Western society went through in that epoch, however I agree that the church should have remained strong in their convictions and traditions. There is a thirst amongst a growing number of millineals and gen z for rules, order, and direction in our chaotic, secular, nihilistic lives. Especially as we begin having children, begin to confront the reality of our mortality, and begin to realize the misery of our parents, the Baby Boomers and Gen Xers, who left God on the back burner in worship of pride and the material. The destruction of the family unit and reliance on the internet for validation has drivin many into dispare... There is a hole in our hearts only God can fill, and I believe people are seeing what has failed in the last two generations, and are waking to embrace what works. And in that, I think a revival of the catholic church is already upon us. My husband and I went to mass for the first time in many years yesterday, and there wasnt room for everyone to sit. The family room was so packed with little children we couldn't hear the liturgy over their shouts and laughter. I was surprised, after hearing about the decline in numbers and "state of things", I had assumed attendance would be sparse. The exact opposite was true, at least at St. Thomas More. I'm just starting my journey into the Catholic church, so I don't really know what it looks like from the inside out, beyond what I hear many "Cradle Catholics" lamenting over, but as someone in search of salvation from nihilism and the Occult, it appears as though the church has just burst through the ocean surface after nearly drowning, and has takin a deep, open mouthed, and life confirming breath of new air.

There are too many documents to do that. We would be here for a decade if Fr did that.
When I first read the documents of Vatican II about 25 years ago the fact that they were so vague I thought was just the way Church documents were.

Same here. I became averse to reading any church documents... Then I read Pascendi Dominici Gregis by Pope Pius X. Wow! I was blown away by the clarity.
Having lived through these times, the mention of the cultural atmosphere at the time of Vat2 is really true and important. The early 1960s seemed like euphoria but things started to plunge downhill pretty fast and now all of it, including Vat2, has proven illusory and long past any relevance now.
Please keep in mind religiousity in general all over the western world has declined drastically since the 1960,s so it can,t be al about vatican 2.

A seminarian I spoke to in the mid-1980's seemed to regard the documents of V2 as equivalent to Holy Scripture! It was as if a new church was created by V2 and the documents of V2 were its constitution, its founding charter. Thank God that such attitudes are weakening, fading and that true Catholicism is reasserting itself.
It is good to know who is talking. Its not about fame, it about authority, respect, acknowledgements, recognition.

I think Pope Benedict was a good balance between what was lost and ruined and what has been recovered and its' meaning. The Hermeneutic of Continuity is the only way forward for the Church. He epitomized Noble Simplicity, not simply simplicity. There is a big difference.

I think that's Fr. Shannon Collins. If you listen to talks by him, his voice sounds identical to this priest. He was part of the Fathers of Mercy, but now he is the pastor of the quasi-parish OUR LADY OF LOURDES in Park Hills, Kentucky. They are under Bishop Roger Foys of the Diocese of Covington, KY

It does not mean Christ was a liar. Pope Paul VI stated that V II was not an infallible council, and is therefore reformable. The Holy Ghost saw to it that Paul VI made this clear,protecting the Church once more from error. It is a valid council, but contains ambiguities and in some respects contradicts prior church teaching. One day, it will be reformed, I have no doubt.

What’s ironic is that most clergy vehemently defends V2 and the Novus Ordo Mass. They want to see the TLM completely eliminated.

Fifty years ago, we expected to have a new council that all our problems of the day will go away. If not, we went back study the council and debated about it. If still not, after 50 years, we blame it on the council itself. --- This attitude by itself is at least part of the problem.
It has been 50 years since the council. Each of us needs to reflect on, not just what the council has been saying, but what we has been doing accordingly.
Now we have our great saints of modernism, John Paul II, John XXIII and undoubtedly soon to be Paul VI.

If only we could convince our bishops and priests to reject Novus Ordo & do an about face. They should be outraged at this deception and willing to do what it takes to slam on the brakes to resist Francis fait d’accomplis by synod of synodality. How does the Council's failure mean that Christ was a liar? The Church IS Christ (read Pius' Mystical Body of Christ.) The Church (properly understood) cannot err. But some of the individuals in the hierarchy have indeed erred. The bishops of the Council as well as the popes are not perfect nor are they infallible ALL the time.
Canonization of Vatican II: Pope John Paul II decided to bend the current procedure (which stipulates that a cause for canonization cannot begin until five years after the death of a servant of God) by authorizing the introduction of the cause of Mother Teresa scarcely three years after her death. Benedict XVI has acted likewise for the beatification of his predecessor. Doubt can only be the more legitimate considering the wisdom of the Church’s proverbial slowness in these matters.

There were some exceptions, ex. : Pius XII canonized St Pius X after forty some years...So this canonization thing of JP II, John XXIII , Mother Theresa...is a real Joke...The purpose is to canonize Vatican II who is dying away...

Contrary to what several listeners to this sermon believe, the author, Father Shannon Collins, belongs to the Fathers of Mercy, and is therefore a full, and very active member of the mainstream Catholic Church. Also, some comments surmise that he is a member of the SSPX, which he is clearly not. He is a devout, and very knowledgeable catholic priest who not only has come to the realisation that Vatican II was a complete and utter waste of time, but that it was also the most self-destructive weapon the catholic church ever invented ! It can be clearly demonstrated that vocations to the priesthood plumetted after Vatican II, and that attendance at mass suffered the same fate. Where I grew up there were (traditional tridentine/latin) masses at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon and at 18.00 in our small parish, but now there is only one novus ordo mass at 10 a.m., which is poorly attended. Vatican II was the source of much error, confusion and heresy and Pope Francis has sadly - unlike Father Collins - failed to recognise that fact. Pope Benedict XVI came to the realisation that the effective, even if not official, banning of the latin mass was a huge error, and he made an effort to correct it by issuing Summorum Pontificum. More and more priests and laity are coming to the realisation that Vatican II was a HUGE mistake, and slowly but surely some of the errors that ensued from it are being corrected. Pope Benedict XVI also stated very clearly that the SSPX is NOT in schism with the catholic church. How could they be ? They only follow the dogmas which the catholic church itself created e.g. that the latin mass may never be changed ! As Father Collins stated in his sermon, Vatican II did not create a single catholic dogma, so, rejection of it cannot be contrary to Canon Law/dogma, and therefore cannot be a reason to be branded schismatic !
Fifth theology is about living, God gives instructions in old testament, what to ear, what not how to behave with elders and young one. In forest he give 10 commandments but what Isrealites have done? And now what we are doing eventhough through church we have given certain instructions but how we are living?
This next good council of reform isn't coming from the current pool of Priest , Bishops & Cardinals !!
Good fruit cannot issue forth from a rotten tree. We must wait and pray for Christ to restore his church. However, it will not happen until the hearts of men change for the better....pray the rosary daily.

I'm not even catholic and even I think the effects of Vatican II are highly unfortunate. The circumstances and manner in which it was called was sketchy. I've been thinking about becoming catholic. I may sound like a broken record, but if there is want for unity and growth within the Catholic Church there must be a return to the requirement that all masses be held in Latin. Reasons: 1) using the vernacular does not help set mass apart from any other event in a person's life to the degree to which a Latin mass would, 2) the vernacular usage is closer to every day informal talk with regular people off the street which therefore does not induce an as reverent state of mind among the participants compared with the sacred Latin, 3) the current global choir of mass, comprised of each mass from each parish in its vernacular, is now in disharmony--there is discord, it is scrambled therefore there is confusion, 4) the introduction of the vernacular therefore was and is the Church's Tower of Babel moment--it is so easy to see the parallel, 5) words, sounds, vibrations are powerful...words are creative, they create a state of mind, a presence, an environment both physical and spiritual...just imagine if you had only 12 people in the same room singing into a microphone, each in their unique vernacular, it would be confusing, there would be disunity and disharmony, people would want to leave that concert no matter how divinely inspired they each are or present themselves to be, but when there are members who express that divinity and also sing in one tongue and in harmony such a thing can move all hearts of any godly peoples and induce reverence even if it's a foreign tongue. This change to the vernacular sadly made the Universal church closer in similarity to the disunited, fragmented, Protestant and the Eastern Orthodox churches throughout the world. One language, one rite, one church--unity and strength. I pray that these changes may be fixed or rolled back. The graph of priests in this video is so sad. I pray this not just for the members of the church, but for all humanity. Just imagine how much force there would be for Christianity in the world if more and more other Christians would come under the fold of the Catholic Church. Protestants changing to Proponents. Sects and schisms closing doors and ending.

Sorry, I am not trying to spam this or anything, but what happened to the idea that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church? I was watching this video with the hope that a priest would better explain the documents of Vatican II that would be in conformity with the Holy See...not someone criticizing it.

Because firstly in old testament God almighty lead his people Noa, Abraham, melkisedek, Moses and through prophets, he was crystal clear but people (jews) never followed instead day by day their faith was trembled. And God punished them many still they never changed. This is the first theology or canon law we today have to understand. Even many prophets laid their life for God sake. @onearmsteve4192 Now I really think that the Second Vatican Council was not bad. It did not intend to bring forth heresy into the Church. To say that the Council was a failure is to say that Christ is a liar. Even though Vatican II itself was not an infallible council, you have to accept its validity if you believe that Pope Paul VI was a pope, along with the ones after. I do not blame the council, but the people who misinterpreted them. Blame the culture, not the church.

If you listen strictly to what he has to say, it really sounds like the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Everything he said is confirmed by history and we have witnessed his words personally watching the aftermath of Vatican II unfold before our eyes. He speaks the truth, period. This makes who he is irrelevant. If Hitler comes to you and says: "2+2=4" you are not going to say to him: "I don't believe you because you are a monster". Obviously I'm not saying this priest is a monster, all I am saying the truth stands for itself.

The vatican 2 council was created to destroy the True Catholic Church from within, a protestant friendly council. Many heresies can be found in the documents of V2, it’s not that people are misinterpreting the documents, the documents contain actual heresies. At the V2 a new church was founded within the True Catholic Church which is not Catholic at all.
Look for a SSPV church near you. They conduct the mass pre "Blessed" John XXIII. There are other Societies out there that also conduct the traditional mass.

more of a systematic criticism against Vatican II in the guise of homily. I can hear Martin Luther in this priest's voice, only that it is in reverse. Vatican II happened as a much needed renewal for the Church in the modern world. If you can't keep up with the Spirit's inspiration you will recoil in the past and will eventually decay with the past.

Whoever did this video needs deeper reflection on the Second Vatican Council, its role played in the life of the Catholic Church and the world. Better ask the help of the Holy Ghost for wisdom and enlightenment to have true reading of everything that is happening. It is full of pride, lacking in faith, offering false hope, and terrorizing the believers. Make a better video next time please.
