The credits of cowboy bebop the movie show exactly what this show was about. Ordinary people getting caught up in extraordinary situations. Never getting recognized but that never bothers them. After stopping Vincent’s virus-Spike takes a nap, Jet goes back to his game, Faye looses at the races, Ed and Ein fish at the river, and even the old men who flew the planes play poker. They never got recognized but they were doing extraordinary things.
The world is always turning baby ;)
I also love that this is the final song we got from this amazing franchise , it’s really melancholy but really beautiful

Well said! The scenery of the end credits is really cool too. Just gives you a look at how everyone goes about their lives, reminds you of all the moments you walked through a city yourself. And how the members of the Bebop crew go back to their normal lives as if nothing happened :)
Idk what the hell you talking about, every single crew member of the Bebop had a crazy ass backstory, they aren't ordinary at all.

@@KaiDecadence ohh that makes sense, I’m from the uk and while we do have adult swim on at late nights on a channel called E4 instead of Cartoon Network. So I’m not sure if it aired in the uk. Besides i would have been too young when it was on. Still I bet it would have been exciting watching it on the telly.
@@beans5307 Ah okay. I'm not sure if it aired in the UK myself but I certainly remember it airing here in America. After it was released in theaters in 2002, I'm pretty sure the year after was when it was aired on Adult Swim because I remember them promoting it's trailer to air on a Saturday night at 12AM (weird time lol).
Unfortunately while I did like Cowboy Bebop, I was in middle school at this time and didn't truly understand a lot of the messages in the show and thought it was a little boring (which I don't agree with at all anymore haha) and when the movie came out, I missed it but I did catch a little bit of it where I saw the scene where Faye tracked down Vincent in the apartment and got infected by the virus and taken captive by him. But then there was a commercial break and I knocked out lol. I didn't end up watching the movie in full until years later lol

Arozura For some reason, this video is a bit darker than the movie itself (just rewatched it recently) - details in shadowed areas and features of darker-skinned characters are harder to make out than in the original.
I think that between the darkened tint of the video, the relatively low resolution (360p), and the idiosyncrasies of TH-cam processing, the faint, thin lines that made up the rain were just sort of lost and blended into the rest of the background image.
Not that the butterfly theory isn't a compelling thought, though...

This is one of those animations that aged gracefully and the music still hits a special spot every time.
Cowboy Bebop's beauty doesn't lie in the fact that it is some epic show with an adventurous storyline, but the meaninglessness of those adventures and life in general. The world and all scenes in this video are beautiful, but are they even real? Not for a man who stopped living long ago.

I think Cowboy Bebop has the largest non-anime-fan fanbase. Hell I won't touch most anime with a ten foot pole but I fucking love this show. It's really special.

...with very (very) subtle reminders that it takes place "off-world."
That is on purpose, this felling of past future.

@@lanceloto7350 it’s also an expression (as is the entire setting of the entire show) of where unbridled capitalism/expansionism will lead us in the future. I’m bebop humanity has lost its sense of self and most of its ties to its own culture . It’s lightly hinted at in the ending scene of ep 22 with Andy and the “teddy bomber” ;)
That's what makes this show and genre timeless!!! It feels older than the year it came out (1998 and this movie in 2001). The designs of the ships and flying machines, buildings, etc, give off such an old western vibe in such a futuristic setting!!!
It's movies like this that ruined all anime for me a long time ago. Mind once blown is very hard to be put back together again. I wish I could watch this movie fresh again and have my mind blown again.
I'd love to do this for karaoke and I've got the breath and the vibrato, but I'd have to start drinking whiskey and smoking around the clock for about a month straight to get this KICK ASS sound. This woman is killaah.

kaizerSoze77 Huh, so maybe this is supposed to be spike wondering about his own existence. This movie tended to have a lot of symbolism about sleep, yet it never gave an exact answer to what it all meant. Their already is a theory that this series actually takes place in purgatory. So maybe it has some relevance to how he isn't in the mortal world.
Or it could just be some questions of if anything in this world is real (In the context of the series.) There even is a unused song in the movies soundtrack titled "Is it real"

But Samurai Champloo if you're looking for something like this, i mean, its made by the same people and the main character is essentially Spike.

It's Electra, and that's how she recognized him when he's pretending to be a janitor.

Call me crazy but I'd way rather watch anime with real characters in plausible settings instead of giant robot ninjas fighting each other, crazy, I know.
Those are actually the best ones... this is why i'm so hyped about KOF finally getting a proper anime adaptation though

Samurai Champloo = Exclusively a story inspired by Edo Japan with some Western inspiration mixed in.
Not that the other performances are bad, quite the opposite but it's mostly immersive preferences reslly.

No, Death Note is magical demon guy giving someone super powers, Elfien Lied was some powerful psychic chick, and Samurai Champloo, well besides the old samurai settings is the only other contender. Haven't seen the other ones but I'm just sick of seeing overpowered robot psychic whatevers fighting in animes, since that usually replaces actual good writing
