I think the song is about "expressing one's desire/passion/pleasure as you want without boundaries" and they use a dirty way to express it in some parts of the song, I think the song is morally questioned it may make some people uncomfortable about its ideals.
Accidentally stumbled to your channel and it's interesting to see someone talking about this song xD I think the title of the song is translated as "Pomp and Circumstances" because there is an English orchestra marching(?) piece with the same name and it is translated as ifuudoudou in Japanese. It's a bit weird to break down the word 威風堂々 to understand the title because it is a four character idiom, which translates as something similar to (something/someone) being awe-inspiring and respectable XD I highly recommend listening to Shoose's cover of the song its still the best cover imo after listening to the song for almost 8 years now xD
ahh so thats why....english isn't my first language so i feel so confused on what "pomp & cicumstance" mean :"D yeah true...i tried breaking down the title because that what i do for every video but i guess to some songs i shouldn't do it, tho to me this kinda still makes sense but indeed is a bit weird www ill try to listen to that one!!
*That* part, yes... It was the part that made me avoid listening to the song, not because I don't like it, but because the fear that my family might hear it was so intense it made me uncomfortable XD Look, I love the song, nowadays it is one of my favorites and listen to it a lot (relatively), but I was 15-17, I was fucking SCARED As to how I found out about the song... Listening to (most likely) gay furries singing, can lead the TH-cam recommendations to places
im here again . This song is a fun one that unapologetically talks about shedding that layer of shame the world wants you to have and to serve yourself, because again, the only thing you can know, therefore rely on, for sure is the self. The song uses s*xual imagery to represent the process of “getting to know yourself”, but its all the same. S*x is an interesting topic for me, though its a taboo and everyone wants to shoo it away, its a plain fact that its one of the most pervasive things in culture (e.g orgasm is a metaphor for death(“little death”), the fact that we even see something symbolic in phallus or hole-shaped things, society is revolved around the family unit and that involves.. u guessed it) because physicality is one of the first things we get to know about ourself, our bodies. This song generates shock value because of how much it leans into “””suggesting sexuality””””, but i think thats just an exercise into letting the viewer know that whatever youre thinking (which is prob what generates shame in you the most) doesnt matter and the most important thing is to KNOW THYSELF. physically, emotionally, existentially, being content that u exist as u are, yada yada… The ego is one of the things in place that makes you think you want what others want. It most often represents pride(the feeling of being socially valuable, or something like that), Therefore the worst emotion it can feel is ‘humiliation’, and humiliation comes from society. Anyway, It clouds the real desires, our real self so thats why the song tells us to discard it. The ego doesnt truly serve us and tell us what is best for us. We do. Anyway the song is fun bcuz even tho u could interpret a msg, it clearly knows what its encouraging is sinful and is a vice(s*x is no joke) but it still rlly hones in on the idea that u should follow ur desires anyway. Its spicy, pompous and compels you that you should take the dive too and discover what you can be. Its a subversive force (Devil) that tempts you, and its compelling because for once you want to escape ur normal society (God). It tells you to drown in the clamor of life because it feels pleasurable and it feels right, but thats just a distraction to the actual moment we become at peace with ourselves- inanimacy; or Death. A funny one this song is. Just my two cents with the ramblings of a madman.
I still cant believe that project sekai is 9+;_; I discovered the song from watching sekai youtubers talking about the song being weird so i checked it out and yeah.. U did really well explaining the song btw!💓
IKRR but i guess of all the 'questionable' songs, they really censored a lot of the illustration, even the VBS cover is made really tame?? likeb the mo4n part isn't that distinct if you don't pay that much attention (at least for me) ;;__;; i personally much prefer it to be at least 16+ not just because of the suggestive lyrics but there's a lot of heavy topics surrounding mental health that might not be good to be listened to by kids :((
@@udinchwan for real it should be 16+; apart from the mature themes kids would shouldn't be exposed to that early (especially N25's story; it is impossible to be comprehensible and appropriate to 9-year olds) but also because the characters swear several times. It doesn't happen every two words but it happens, nonetheless (for instance, Cheerful*days called Shizuku "pain in the ass", Mafuyu mentions somewhere she doesn't give a damn (word to word) and Law-evading rock and Ego rock both contain uncensored "fuck off" line
@@orbitalslushie404 i think the reason why it's 9+ is because the songs are mostly in japanese and kids who don't know japanese think that its an OK song + the fact that the PJSK game appears so lively and cheery makes it look like a 9+ game, but it should be considered 16+
I personally [as a queer person] interpret this song from that lens, the meaning about being open with your desires and sexuality resonates with me a lot, especially in an era where queer people have to water down and sanitize themselves to be seen as acceptable by wider society
I found this song because NAGITO KOMAEDA-- Megumi has a cover of this song, and since that's Komaeda's VA it has Nagito IN HIS UDG OUTFIT as the picture throughout the whole vid- I-
uh the reason its called pomp and circumstance in the english translation. is because pomp and circumstance is a band arrangement thats played in graduations, coronations, special events like that. it’s seen as a prideful song too i think
I actually stumbled upon this song before proseka or genshin impact was a thing. It was a cover by an utaite named Shoose with a Levi Ackerman art, which was also how i discovered Shoose.
My interpretation of the song title is this: 威風堂々 - Ifuudodo Can be split into two words. 威風 and 堂々 威風 is translate to majesty, and 堂々 is translate to pride If you notice on at least the sekai song picture, it says PRIDE and STYLE in English. I believe this to be essentially the translation of the title as the two words making up the title of the song basically mean Pride and Style. Also the words Pride and Style in English are in the song itself.
Well, I knew the song through 2 utaites which are 96neko and Hashiyan and their cover was really funny and because the utaite and vocaloid community is similar in a lot of ways (utaites covering vocaloid songs) so I was hooked after that cover and went to listen to the original and that was around 2014-2015. I don’t play genshin nor project sekai so I didn’t know that it was that popular in both communities but I just wanna say that there are way more meaningful vocaloid songs to listen/make popular than this (not saying it’s bad but the lyrics are kinda inappropriated for a 9+ game like project sekai lol). Overall very good interpretation from you.
i love 96neko!!! i gotta agree on that part for the lyrics bcs not just this song, there's a lot of sons about depression, suicide, self harm, murder, even drugs?! on the game and even though its implied i still hope they can raise the age restriction a little bit :"D but i still think meaningful-ness (?) is different for each person so yeah maybe this is popular for other reasons that is meaningful for them~
damn , it feels like the devil made the song himself , be opened up on your desires ? damn that's exactly what devil is trying to make us do ! i really regret joining the vocaloid society , i thought vocaloid is about feeling , yet it happens to be about lust ! and the most forbidden one ! what a shame ...
when she said "astagfirullah" my jaw dropped i didn't know she's muslim or smt and i immediately checked her yt description to see if she says she's muslim bye😭
I never expected that I would find the interpretation of this song 💀💀
Same, this was unexpected-
I think the song is about "expressing one's desire/passion/pleasure as you want without boundaries"

What people think about this song : do what you desire or smth
Me and my gang : 🤨😏
