I'm amazed that I'm the first to post on this great performance from Adam Hersh, one of the best of the new generation at composing and performing highly musical jazz fusions. I've seen him play three times at Sam First. Each time his ambition and the musicianship of his bands have blown me away. His latest album, Tornado Watch, is stellar modern fusion, lyrical and visceral and unpredictable. His influences are primo, such as Wayne Shorter and guitar hero Allan Holdsworth. He's done live tribute shows to both musicians. He transcribed the entire Wayne Shorter "High Life" album and performed this highly complex music at Sam's live. I was there. Phenomenal.
