Let's not forget that the staple maize is also coming into the country from our neighbours Uganda and Tanzania. This together with our own production has lowered the prices. It's not necessarily government intervention.
Inflation is not bad. We actually need inflation to spur growth especially in the manufacturing sectors because of the relationship between price and supply. Remember the philips curve on relationship between inflation and unemployment... It just depends on what is causing inflation because some forms of inflation are harmful, specifically those that cause stagflation to the economy but not all and it also explains why a country with zero inflation or deflation is a cause to worry. Just my thinking. 🤔🤔🤔
We go back to the education system. If a professor cannot explain inflation in a way that a child can understand, then maybe we all don't know what is being taught and they don't know what they are teaching in this universities .
Sad that this economist doesn't have a basic understanding of inflation. Inflation rate does NOT mean that prices are going DOWN! It means they are going UP but more slowly. You don't need a degree in economics to know that. It's common sense!
This guy is supposedly a doctor but is spewing so-called facts without any supporting data or sources. He relies on some kienyeji rule of thumb reasoning and the worst part is that he later contradicts himself.
This was underwhelming. No data in this entire conversation from the 'Daktari'. I hope this man doesn't lecture in any university. I agree with him on one thing- we must tinker our thinking to change our economy. The Daktari should also tinker his.
Perhaps you would provide your source and data to contradict his, for your information a role of thumb is often used as a shortcut or simplified rule that generally works well in a range of situations, even if it's not strictly accurate
Having worked in the research field for several years, today I gained a clear and straightforward understanding of the theory of change.
We need more of dr .gachie
Is Gachie named after the good doctor?🙃
True. Real discussions

Correction the inflation rate is droping, meaning inflation is increasing at a slower rate

Bottom up and trickle down are all fallacies and a story for another day. 😁😁😁

It's a relative price
