Not a tap, is a push pull that puts it out of phase. Only works with both PuPs engaged, which is why didn't do anything when you tried it just on the bridge.

It's more twang than that, but it can do a great crunch! We have a "used" one from our EQD Day demo station going out for sale soon! 😺
