    This is so helpful. I’m from Chicago and am deciding between here and UIUC. I just got notified that I received the presidential scholarship to attend here and I’m stoked. Just a little worried about diversity and overall cliques in the school since I haven’t been able to visit yet!

    Hey! This was so helpful!!! I just got accepted, and I was wondering if there is air conditioning in the dorms and if there is places open at late hours to grab some snacks and food.

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately there is no AC in the dorms, so I def recommend bringing a fan, especially cause it can get hot in San Diego. And there are two places on campus open til 12 to get snacks!

    hey, this video really helped to know more about USD. planning to apply here. what are upper and lower division classes?

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zeel Mehta basically lower division classes are mostly core classes or the courses you take starting off in your major or minor. Upper division classes tend to be more advanced and you would mostly take them end of sophomore-senior year

    Really enjoyed your video! Thank you for posting this, I really needed to hear more about it before fully committing. What do you think about the LLC’s, let me know thanks!

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww thank you! And the LLC’s don’t really matter too much, especially when choosing your housing. Just focus on where you wanna live. The LLC’s place you in a required freshman class that will cover one of your CORE ( basically general education classes needed to graduate). But all in all I wouldnt stress over them! I hope this helped, lmk if you have anymore questions!

  • @ashleyrichmond3126
    @ashleyrichmond3126 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hi! Thanks for all the videos on usd! I’ve been accepted and highly considering it! Can you tell me more about what exactly is the llc and being like an advocate or cultivate?

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The LLC is basically you get placed into groups and you have a class with this group (around 20 ppl) for both semesters of freshman year. You also will be assigned an advisor and a student advisor as well that help you get used to school. Its nice because usually you'll end up being friends with at least one of the people because you spend so much time with them

    Also from Chicago this video was really helpful just had a campus tour today. Interested in the Olin school of business! One worry I do have is tuition and if student loan is the way to go after college.

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ya tuition is definitely a problem for almost everyone that goes here, but you can appeal for financial aid and explain your situation, and the school might be able to give you more aid!

    hey! i’m french and might come to this college next year. i didn’t really understand the part about theology courses.. are they mandatory and like with finals how does it work out ? thank you for your video it was super helpful :)

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi!, so the theology courses are mandatory, you have to take one lower division and one upper division course. You tend to have finals in almost all of your classes unless your professor decides otherwise. Hope this helps :)

    This helped a lot! What would you say about having a car on campus? Are freshman allowed to bring their cars? If you don't bring your car is it easy to go around the city?

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Freshman are allowed to have cars and a large amount do have them. I don’t have a car and still found it easy to get around whether it was through uber or my friends driving me!

    How do you get involved on campus and are there lots of planned events that go on or things to do?

    • @kiraford1104
      @kiraford1104  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is super easy to get involved on campus! There are so many things to join and to do, theres at least one major campus-wide planned event per week. Especially at the begining of each semester.

      I follow their TH-cam channels and they're really pushing diversity. Personally I don't care, I was one of like 5 Latinos at my high school and I have no problems with a predominantly white school.

      @Manya Karama I mean I agree with you. I go to a predominantly white school and I would like to see some diversity so I can experience something new.
