Good idea and looks nice but why didn't you just laser straight onto the timber and just spray lacquer the surface. All you've done is make a stencil. I'm not knocking your work though as I'm going to be making the same kind of things when my Atomstack 20w arrives this week
Thanks Dave for checking it out. You can do this a few different ways. Yes its pretty much a fancy stencil with a bit of an inlay. For me this is just faster. No brushing, just a quick spray. I was just look at those Atomstack diode lasers !! Nice to see diodes are getting more powerfull !
@@1620GarageAndFarm Yes they are now powerful enough for what I need and don't take up much space. I'm still going to make a cover for fume extraction though.
@@1620GarageAndFarm I may do in the future but there are other people reviewing Atomstack 20w laser on TH-cam at the moment. Xtool have just brought one out too.
I think i follow what you are doing. It burns through the tape and wood, then this allows you to paint the burned areas without worrying about paint on the clean wood. Then you just remove the tape. I have a 5.5 watt diode laser, i can cut 6mm ply withit, i wonder if it could handle this type of work.?
@@1620GarageAndFarm no problem. You are welcome: ) just got my air pump today for my laser so im excited to cut 6mm wood in 3 to 5 passes rather than 10 to 15 haha
@@LT72884 Keep your eye out on your local facebook market place. I scored my 100watt laser for 100 bucks !!! It was suspect bad laser tube/ power supply. Turned out it was a bad power switch. 6 dollars off amazon. You can find the K40 (watt laser for 300-400 bucks) all the time. Nice machine for the money

Great idea and fast but would not satisfy for the higher end cliant.
No it would not, this is totally for rustic fast stuff
Dang.. This is SO COOL!!!
WOW! This process is very fascinating and cool to watch!! New and glad to follow and support your channel!! Very creative and smart!! :))
Thank you for the positive feed back. I love making cool stuff. And even better when you can do it with recycled stuff.

Where can I get the masking tape that big? I'm a newbie. Thanks
I got this stuff a while back I think from eBay. Let me see if I can find a link for it.
@Bill Blake I found it on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B07DF7TDSF/?tag=1620garage-20

This is correct, It does burn into the wood a little. I think a 5.5 wat may also do the trick. Thanks for checking out my video and channel.

Very cool and fairly simple. Thanks for the video.
Thanks David for checking it out. Really a simple design and you can do a lot with a rattle can.
how do you make the frame go faster?
You need to adjust your mm/s millimeters per second setting
🤑
I hope the masking tape is actually paper-based and not vinyl. Burning vinyl is bad for you and the laser head.
It’s paper
