I am the one who built them, my entire family enjoys your big tractor power videos. If you are ever out close to Montana I would be happy to show these outfits to you.
It's weird and fascinating to see as a Dutch farmer we would run tripples like this with a tractor with around 180 to 200HP which is enough to do so here in the Netherlands. This triple setup is with conditioners and 9m workwidth
@@HarrisPropertyMaintenance yeah okay. We tend to use lighter tractors and smaller ones it's not weird to see a 6R or 6M riding around with tripple mowers and for the most smaller machines
@@KevinJD2030 yes the farm I work for has a 2002 vultra and for it size it’s way more capable than a American made John Deere of equivalent size and time period, our equipment has always been bigger but less horsepower up until 15-20 years ago
Neither of these tractors are stock, the 8650 is close but the 8640 is about 350 hp it is amazing how much power the conditioners take in 3 ton hay. We also run the spring tension maxed out trying to help dry down time.
Those big tires are probably worth more than the tractors, let alone the triple mowers. Thats ok though good cheap horse power, I like that idea. Would be curious how the front pto works?
Yes the tires and the GPS equipment are worth significantly more than both tractors, however it is tough to beat the big radiator that those old summer fallow tractors have.
Not a chance they run hydraulically. Those old deeres are not known for their hydraulic power. Probably close to maxed out just lifting and turning at the same time.
Now that is really cool. Nice to see the old iron still getting it done!
Now that is cutting hay. Very cool.
Jason, please work with these guys to create a BTP video. That would be a treat to watch.
@@derekferwerda4922 it would be cool to feature.

Congrats on the success of this video. With it being over 50k views you can see where people were most interested and did the most replays.
Nice! I'd be curious to see how the front PTO is configured on these tractors.
Me too?
I need to get a video together for that
myself as well
I bet it has a drop box / transfer case with a pto shaft going up to the front, that's how I would build it!
@@406farmerLooking forward to it!!
We have found that the big four wheel articulated tractors work best for us as well
Very cool, these old tractors ride really well so I think would make good mower units 😎
I actually dreamed of this with 3 15' heads. Just couldn't justify in my area.

Those tractors are only 225hp on the pto so it’s not too much above what y’all do

@@HarrisPropertyMaintenance yeah but horsepower isn't everything in farming torque is way more important

In Europe they take front pto direkt from engine crank shaft to a gearbox with the pto
I would think this would be the only afforable way to get into a triple mower. You got any videos talking about this setup? Def want to hear more
I still need to put one together. These actually belong to a friend of mine.
When are you going to start selling kits so I can cut hay with my 8650.

Lot of horses for hay
Doesn't take quarter million dollar machines to get the shit done
Agreed. Good use of inexpensive horsepower.
Absolutely, and they are much more maneuverable than most people realize
How did you set up the front pto?
Good cheap power. Well done
It just doesn’t get any cooler 😎
Thank you
Wow , Impressive
Thats crazy
I don’t believe it but I guess I have to, I’m looking right at it.
And no GPS driving, oh the humanity. 😅
They have gps
I see the globe now.@@406farmer
Those old horses will run a long time doing that kind of work.. The big hydraulics let's them run that front mower hydraulically I'm sure.
I see a front PTO shaft spinning. Perhaps from a hydraulic gearbox?

The tractors handle the mowers wonderfully, way better than the 7280r we used to run. The front header is shaft drive
Thats cool as a mf
☝C'est pas courant un tracteur articulé avec une PTO avant.
It has a transfer case off of the rear pto
