- Fender Stratocaster Highway One. Late 2009 early 2010 strat. P.S. It does have tone control on the bridge. Of course after I uploaded I immediately found MIM Highway One's all over the place.

Hi Greatvanzinni. It's Mike, of my other channel. We talked about my old one piece Targa guitar, and my old Stagg. When I entered Jimmy's can you Rock challenge, I was thinking of you and took the Stagg guitar. Now you can see it Live in action in my video. Yes, it's because of you that I grabbed that guitar lol. But you won't believe me. It was my first guitar as a teenager, and because of all the scratches on it, I sand it to the wood, took colors pencils to draw things on it. And I grabbed my father Floor acrylic finishing gallon to coat it lolll (shame on me.. but still sound good haha)

@@greatvanzini thanks, and yeah, little bit magical. This week I will find a few minutes filming the other Targa guitar and post it here for you, and for others if interested to see it. I rarely use it because the big problem with it is that the neck is heavier compare to the body, so not a good balance when playing it. But omg, the pickups are incredibly good on it. I have a 2011 HW1 Strat in flat black. Looks, plays, and sounds phenomenal. One of the best Fender has ever done. These are becoming more sought after, as the years ago by. Real gems!

Yes, it is, Paul,,,, Sort of. I think they called it a semi gloss finish, but it is far closer to a flat matte. The neck is is closer to semi gloss or satin like.

I still own one of these. I gigged it for about three years. The finish got real glossy where my arm would rub, makes for an interesting look. great inexpensive USA made Strat. The Highway 1 went away and was replaced by the American Special line.

I remember trying those out at GC when they had them. They were the most affordable USA Fender guitars at the time. I never did like the satin finish, which I have on one of my newer Fender Strats, (VG). I thought about getting one just because that would be the perfect base to start from if you are going to modify a Strat. You could take that and modify it any way you want to. I never did get one though, because I already had several guitars that I was doing modifications to already.

Another gorgeous guitar from your collection GreatVanzinni. I love how you adapt your playing to each one, it makes me ponder on the inspirational opportunities available, if I say Yes to my wife and let her have a walk-in closet! I get the feeling I wouldn't be so lucky as to discover a Strat in it, maybe a lot of shoes, but probably not a Strat!

Thanks for watching, Rick. Good choice! Daphne has always been one I've kept an eye open for. I did find a reference to 97 MIM Highway One strat, so apparently my comments were off a bit. I think my HW 1 Tele is a dark reddish, almost maroon. Your Tele Blues vid was great by the way! Frets are odd with me. Unless I consciously think about it I don't notice. Medium Jumbo's for me but only if I think about it. LOL.
