Just watched the new 2024 vid on these. Thanks for the comments about NCF! Yes, it absolutely cost more money to chill filter it. More time, additional equipment & added labor = higher cost of final product. It's like saying, "does it cost them more to paint the car or leave as is." But that added cost is nothing compared to how much it cost to add water to Whiskey, even though they charge MUCH more to Not add water. Think about this; a 1.75L bottle of JD Black 80P has ~1.1L of whiskey in the bottle & 650mL of water added, post aging. Think of how much cost it is, to ship all that extra water, along with the bigger glass bottle, across the world from TN (the glass is heavier than the water). Also, the process of adding water cost $$, too. So then, the distilleries say to the consumer, "if you don't want us to spend all this time & money to ruin the whiskey, it will cost you 3Xs more than it cost us to ruin it." That is pure BS!
The single barrel is a hidden jewel for $28 @ 120 proof in Atl. Last Friday picked up a bottle went back today and grabbed last one from the pallet. It's a hot item here.
Just tried all 3. Single barrel was my favorite as well. Followed by the bottle-in-bond. The single barrel reminded me of the Four Roses Single Barrel which is a high rye mash bill.
I'm young in the process of enjoying hard liquor. 6 months ago, got a Kirkland Spiced Rum. Took to it well and at the bottom of the bottle, finding that I want to make sure I pick up another before I'm out! Will be at Costco later today and wanted to take my first step into whisky. Thanks for the video. Hoping they have the single barrel at my store!
Great review,. My wife just bought the small batch from Costco for father's day, along with a bourbon smoking kit. So my plan is to try it neat, as well as with ice. Then I will smoke some and see how it fares. Again thanks for the review
Let me know how it turns out for you!! This review is quite old, I’ll have to do it again and see how things have changed! Cheers devil dog, do some pushups!!!
I have had the small batch and single barrel. I really like the single barrel at 120 proof and it's super cheap still at 1 Liter. The Small Batch isn't all that great but it's a good mixer. They are like Barton's lesser picks I think but still good. The Small Batch is now my infinity bottle.
Ya buddy, rule to live by: if the alcohol comes in a plastic bottle, it's probably garbage. I like the KS SB more than I thought I would. I haven't picked up the BiB or SiB yet, looking forward to them.
Great review and thanks doing it. Costco is the only box store in this state that sells liquor and the state stores don't carry it. I've seen it and have been curious about it so this is good info.
I couldn’t agree more on these, we did a few reviews on our Chanel and we had similar opinions. Cannot wait to get the single barrel to see how it stacks up to the rest.
I like the transparency. It’s straight up 1792. Small batch. Single barrel and BiB. Same stuff. Cheaper and more of it? YES please. Can’t wait for them to maybe release a sweet wheat and a 12 year??….hhmmmmm….
A liter of Early Times is still going for $19.95 for a liter and readily available (at least where I live, I know). Sazerac has put up a whole website for ET BiB as well, so it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon. Best value bourbon out there, hands down.
I haven't had a chance to complete the set yet, but I'm definetly a fan of the BIB, I compared it to my (almost finished) 1792 BIB and it's 90% there to me. Me thinks I need to get someone to take me to Costco now to grab that single barrel.
I have a Kirkland Premium Small Batch Bourbon, aged 7 years, 103 proof, batch T-1796 which I am enjoying very much! Not gonna try to give tasting notes.
I picked up all three. I'm not a fan of any of them but the single barrel is the better of the three. I'm cheap but I'd rather drink Wild Turkey 101 any day. I'm a Old Forester 1910/1920, Makers Mark 46/46 Cask Strength fan.
@@TheBourbonWrench you must be from Texas with that accent lol and you do great on this channel. how do you feel about McFarlanes bourbon I never had it yet 90 proof
Hahaha close! I’m from Arkansas. Actually haven’t tried mcfarlanes. My favorite lower proof bourbons are old forester 86 proof, Evan Williams 1783, Evan Williams single barrel, and maybe even a woodford reserve
To be classified as “straight bourbon” it has to be at least 2 years. That’s why I figured it’s so young since it doesn’t have an age statement! Bottled in bond is what has to be at least 4 years
They better be better than the lousy Kirkland bakery crap! In northern China, I could get quite drinkable whiskey for $2.50 a bottle. Sure beats very perfumey gross beijiu!
Yeah, it might be from Barton but it's not 1792. even the name "Kirkland" sounds like a dry cleaners and not a name for a bourbon. Might as well have a Rite Aid label bourbon.

Picked up the single barrel yesterday and am extremely happy with it. Strong Carmel on the nose. Long lasting flavor but very smooth for 120 proof
It’s one of my current favorites!
I haven’t seen a Single Barrel in over 5 months I believe. Did they stop making it?
Just tried all 3. Single barrel was my favorite as well. Followed by the bottle-in-bond. The single barrel reminded me of the Four Roses Single Barrel which is a high rye mash bill.
We don't have Costco here, but I am glad you did this overview. Thanks!
Also, we haven't seen that in AL anywhere.
The single barrel at 120 proof is a definite value hitter on price and proof! Can't wait to find and try some. Thanks for the video Trev!

Found the BiB and totally agree with your comments. Can't wait to find the other two and see what happens. Thanks for this review.😎🤘
Great review buddy. Love the music on the grab words

120 proof on a Costco product? I’m in! Great video, Trev!😊🥃

I have bottle of the small batch at home now and I really like it.

Great video Trev! I thought the small batch was meh. The bottled in bond was yummy bananas. No single barrel here yet!🤞
we call it "weekday bourbon" it's for sure meh but at $18/liter its fine by me for a maybe too big pour on a wednesday.
Limited Release at Kirkland = 12,000,000 bottles released ;) lol. Great review Trev. Have to venture to Costco and see if they have any of them...
Costco is on the other side of town, so it's good to know I could find the single barrel somewhere closer. Thanks
My Costco got a pallet of the small batch in today! I grabbed two bottles! You can't beat them for $20 a LITER!
Awesome video. Definitely grabbing 3 SIBs...🥃

Great review! And I agree why the heck anyone would chill filter anything! Makes no sense
Vote for me for president, first law I enact is NCF for all!!
That barrel proof SiB is around the same price as Evan Williams Vintage SiB. That's a great value.
Love this review. Thanks Man
I missed the single barrel, but I have the other two. The absolutely best bourbon for the price.
Dang man the single barrel is so good!! You’d have loved it!
Still waiting to spot the SiB in southern AZ. I'll buy 2 for sure.
Finally go tit and am enjoying it right now. Wow.
I recently was recommended the single barrel bourbon and I thought for the price it was really hard to beat.

I’d probably choose makers 46 over them myself. The single barrel is the only one I’d buy again once I finish these!
Its smooth, delicious and 92 proof for only 20 bucks. Come on.. not bad at all
How hard is one of those bottles .can you safely carry one in your luggage travelling overseas without breaking one. Let me know .
I just grabbed a BIB a couple days ago...
The prices in the UK start at £32 roughly
I've been trying to find these Kirkland Bourbon's for almost a year and none of the costco's in my area have them in stock..... WTF???????
Costco doesn't carry any of them anymore and has no plans to bring them back
Not a Costco member. But please review the new Disney Princess Pastis and Sam’s Club Craft Curaçao when they launch.
You don't need to be a member to buy alcohol or use their pharmacy
waiting for SIB to drop!
Kirkland single barrel kentucky straight bourbon is where it's at.
Just subscribed great content
Cheers buddy glad you enjoy!!

They are Costco exclusive, that liquor store was misbehaving hehe good for them though
They keep getting them though! It seems like as soon as the shelves clear, the next week they are restocked! Not gonna name the store then bahaha
@@TheBourbonWrench Hahaha thats interesting for sure but as long as there selling it at that price,
My biggest issue is finding a State that sells liquor in Costco. Ohio doesn't 😭
Oh wow really?! That’s strange! But you guys get everything else though so it’s a fair trade 😉
Mishawaka, Indiana has a Costco and a Sam's Club that both sell liquor.
The small batch doesn’t have an age statement does it? That means it is at least four years old.

@@TheBourbonWrench I think you’re wrong. If Straight Bourbon whiskey has no age statement it has to be four years.
Did you also order a Liter of Cola?
I see what you did meow.
I don't know what that is
That's not how you "smell" bourbon; you do not get any of the subtleties smelling whiskey with your mouth closed.
They better be better than the lousy Kirkland bakery crap! In northern China, I could get quite drinkable whiskey for $2.50 a bottle. Sure beats very perfumey gross beijiu!
My single barrel was $31.99
Still a solid price honestly! Under $40 for something that high of proof is just crazy!

Liquor store 😯
A straight bourbon is 4 yrs without an age statement and must have an age statement if its older than 2 but least than 4
