Looking for inspiration what to see next? Here are my favourite shows of 2024 which you can see in 2025: th-cam.com/video/KzSRThP96pg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MckYccAEjcwh91Py (spoiler alert: Oliver is one of them!☺)
I was very lucky to see this production twice at Chichester Festival Theatre last summer. The whole show is a delight from start to finish with fantastic performances by the whole cast. Kian Eagle -Service played Oliver both times I saw the show. I have seen Kian in three different shows. He was fantastic as Bruno in The Witches at The National Theatre in 2023. Twice in Oliver and late last year play The young Harvey milk in the staged concert of "I am Harvey Milk" at the Cadogan Hall. Here is again appearing in a staged concert of a new musical called Figaro at the London Palladium on Monday the 3rd and Tuesday the 4th of February. He is a name to watch as he was outstanding in the things I've seen him in.
I have seen Oliver live on stage for decades, Sure you wouldn't spoil any details as it is such a beloved/very well known musical from stage to film, colouring books etc😀 And love when they show little segments of it on award shows like: The Brit Awards, The Olivier Awards, Pics in Magazines etc One of my fav fagins is: Rowan Atkinson in 2009 , whch as you prob know he played it at-Theatre Royal, Drury Lane🤘🏻 BTW-I did reply back to your other reply on the Starlight Express video 🚂🛼🌠😎
Haha I thought that would be the case so corrected myself as soon as I said it. 😂 It must have been so special growing up with this show and seeing so many adaptations of it. I hope you get to see this one and let me know what you think of it! 😊
@@KristinaEmilyOfficial Yea you did indeed 😂 Yea it was/is so special, as I said going to the theatre was/is a really big part of my life-soooooo many great memories seeing theatre in West End/UK Tours + abroad since the 80's 😊 Oh I will def see this one at some point this year 🤘🏻 So when do you think you will see some theatre shows outside of London on UK Tour??? could send you all the theatre shows I have seen in a fb message that I have seen in UK and abroad a few to loads of times-did type it all down and saved it on my lap top so wouldn't have to do it again well that was over a year ago so not full up to date 🤣 but could just add on the other extra shows I have seen since then??
A great classic! I saw Davy Jones (Was in the band, The Monkeys) as Artful dodger on Broadway. I wore the record out and to this day, Where is Love and Consider Yourself are some of my favorite songs!
I saw Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Oliver at the Gielgud Theatre in London on Tuesday 17th December 2024, it was absolutely fantastic with incredible performances from Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, Billy Jenkins as The Artful Dodger and Clan Eagle Service as Oliver who were all fantastic, the sets are really well done especially from Chichester and the revolving stage as well, the music was fabulous like the Playout at the end and the songs as well like Consider Yourself, Reviewing The Situation, Food Glorious Food and As Long As He Needs Me, it’s now my absolute favourite production of the musical I’ve ever seen and my favourite show of the year 5 stars and 10 out of 10, before the show started I got the programme, shirt and bag from the souvenir stall and will be getting the Live Cast Recording CD and then afterwards I got signed signatures, selfies and hugs from both Simon and Shanay at the stage door. Definitely go and see Oliver at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End and it’s on until Sunday 28th September this year and I will be seeing it again.
What would you recommend? Must be in an old style theatre. The more opulent, the better. Only seen one show before that was Billy Eliot back in 2014, and we loved it. Back in London in may 2025.
I think Phantom of the Opera is a great shout indeed! ☺️ maybe you’d enjoy The Mousetrap which is the longest running play in the world or Les Miserables which is the longest running musical in the world too. All of these are a bit darker/more serious.
This is definitely on my list of things to see this year. I remember when Cameron Mackintosh put this on the last time, it must have been well over twenty years ago now and I think it had Jonathan Pryce as Fagin (among others). It's a complete travesty of the source material, of course, but it's one of those shows where the music is so good that you don't care that it doesn't make much sense.
Music definitely makes this show! It’s so much fun to watch and they manage to amplify the most entertaining bits of the story. It would be interesting to hear what you think how it compares to the previous version.
I do want to see this show (although I have seen previous productions) but everytime I think about it, and try to book a ticket, I get shocked by the prices. Even the royal circle tickets aren't all that cheap. I just can't click Buy.

My very first ever musical I got to perform in was Oliver in 2009 in Sydney
That’s so cool! So many memories for you then. Such a special show for many people. ☺️

I totally understand that. I paid a lot too for a very average view tbh. Maybe a bit later in the year they start running rush tickets on TodayTix.
