  • Khalia explores the need for greater diversity and inclusion to accelerate innovation during uncertain times. Khalia D. Newell is Vice President at Barclays where she works within the Core Governance and Infrastructure Team. The team focuses on enhancing the existing governance frameworks and infrastructure for the Barclays Group.
    She has been identified as a Rising Star within Financial Services by We Are The City and the Black British Business Awards and has extensive experience in diversity and inclusion from her consulting work with several diversity networks and large public and private sector organisations.     It takes many generations to unlearn bias and exclusionary thinking, as well as to learn how to fit in by being productive in another ethnic group's paradigm. These are things learned before age 4 by listening to and observing parents, and change little as one gets older. Change is a little bit per generation. It took 300 years to evolve from widespread slavery and servitude to this talk.

    👏👏👏 BRAVO! Wonderful speach. Also I can see a story of mixed race or mixed cultured peoples and finding where people feel themselves fit in society.
