I’m so sorry to take so long to reply! I somehow missed your comment! This method of topping off has worked really well for me for the several times I’ve used it. The only thing to keep an eye on is seasonal changes in evaporation rates. That’s where the little black line is invaluable, along with regular checking of salinity. Thanks for watching - good luck! 👍🏻
I used the XPAuto Duetto ATO on my sumpless 20H and it worked great for a bit over a year before breaking that system down. Surface agitation never gave it an issue.
Apologies for the tardy reply - I don’t know how high/far it pumps but when using this method of topping off water, I usually try to have the shortest hose run possible. The farthest I’ve had is about 5 ft. Thanks for watching!
Hi, apologies for such a tardy reply (hubby had some surgery and it’s been hectic around here lately). I’m embarrassed it’s taken me so long to reply. The black sharpie line is the level indicator that I monitor every day. There definitely are seasonal evaporation changes. If I see the water level start to creep above the black line, I cut back on the pump run time. If the water level is below it, I add one or two seconds to the run time. So it’s manual, there’s no solenoid, and I’m not sure if one could be incorporated…🤔 It has worked flawlessly every time I’ve used this type of setup. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Oh man, all I could think of watching this "the things we do for the health of our animals".. I am sure you will watch this as the evaporation changes from time to time
Lol, so true. That’s the beauty of having the line on the tank - really quick and easy to see where things stand, especially as the total volume is off by about one-half of a single dose. I check it every morning and manually add if needed. I haven’t seen a drop in evaporation yet....Thanks for watching!
Love it when you say "here's my bag-ass funnel"
Using that in a 15-20 gallon husky container with a lid. Cheap $$$. Reliable. Works great. Easy to setup and use.
Cindy it is great to put equipment you all ready have to good use thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching Tony! These little systems are perfect for this type of aquarium use. 👍🏻
Genius! I'm se excited to finally have a reliable ato

Nice! Three times the price tho, not exactly budget. 🤷♀️
@@Reefgrrl true! It’s a bit pricey
Hello I heard good things about duetto to what exact model you use for Sumpless tank?
Great video. I'm proud of you I'm just wondering, how high does it pump water

Gr8, thanks
So there is no solenoid for the top off? Doesn't the evaporation vary with season?
Can you add a solenoid to this.
Gr8 idea

Nice! My best ATO has been a lid :-)

I put kalk in my ato. Would this device work with that or get clogged?
I don’t know. It would partly depend on the kalk saturation I suspect. I’ve used this type of pump to dose kalk at half-saturation with no issues.
What is the clicking noise I hear?
I think it’s in the music - at lower volumes I can hear the percussion but not the melody....🤷♀️
