Hi Roos, Id like to ask you. Once in one of your videos you mention a company in THe Netherlands that sell seed of some tropical plants. Can you please tell me the name of it, thanks a ton.
Just chopped up my ancient monstera because of a thrips outbreak. It was so happy propagating in water that it threw out two giant leaves within two weeks. I’ve never seen anything like it. It LOVED being in the water and getting those thrips off of it.

I've been through this pain, my giant philodendron golden dragon (aka big phil) got to over 7 feet tall, and it hit the ceiling. It's leaves were massive. I had to cut it for obvious reasons, but it broke my heart. I've made myself feel better by potting most of the cuttings with the mother plant, knowing that one day big Phil will be even bigger

I don't know what you mean with the leaves being bad but I would generally let the plant acclimate first. Cutting gives the plant more stress and it can take months before it grows again

Loooooved loooooooved looooooved this video, because variegated monsteras are just the best😻 I just wondered, is that albo's variegation bright white or rather creamy white? I couldn't tell. I have both, extremely white and creamy white variegated albo - both very nice. Thanks for this lovely vid. God job👌
Awww haha thank you! In my opinion the regular variegated Monstera are pretty white, while the Thai constellations are more cream. But I'm sure some regular ones can also be more cream, as well as yellow or green variegation
QUESTION: I have a leggy monstera but she is huge and happy. I am currently air layering the roots so I can chop ALL plants and repot them as the same height in a new pot. But, I wanted to ask you a question BEFORE I get started. If I chop it and do this to kind of start over and get rid of the long legs, will it continue to grow its large leaves or will I be forcing the plant into childhood leaves again>
The top cutting can and usually does keep its big leaves, tho they are very slow to reroot and grow. the other parts will start with smaller leaves again at first, but if the stem is quite thick then it usually can increase in size again quite fast. But yes, it will be a set back for the leaf size.
Thanks for the video. I wonder what mixture you used for the wet sticks? Also I wouldn't touch the cuttings with the chopped roots. It is pretty normal that they are not developing as quickly as others, as they need time to recover from stress and work on the root system first. By removing them from the pot you might disturb the process and create more stress. But it's just my experience.
Yeah that's what I've been thinking, don't wanna stress them more. But then the others are all growing so well! I use my same airy soil mix for everything.

I use the company entocare in The Netherlands. if you are outside of The Netherlands you could check which local company sells the brand, which is koppert in this case .I have a great experience with treating with good bugs and also with the company entocare. good luck!
Hi, I just got my first purchased of one leaf with one root and I put it in water for new roots before planting it…. But I need help mate you can advice me if I should plant it now than waiting for new roots before planting it in soil. Hope you can help me please..,thank you
Hey mate, I advise letting it root in water until you have secondary roots - so side branches off the main roots. Then you can pot it up in soil

What are the pest control tabs you have hanging on the plant?
I have many videos about them, I get them from entocare here in the Netherlands
How do you keep the white parts of the leaves from browning
I don't do anything, it's part of had having big patches of variegation. But if you keep stress low that should help - when there's stress they reserve resources and the white parts don't bring anything to the plant so they go first.

No I wouldn’t of cut it, but gotta do what ya gotta do. I’ve had my Thai 3 yrs an Albo 2 an their still really slow growing. It will take forever to have one as big as yours was. 😂 💚 idk why but when I want to watch a live the dogs have to go out!!😀
Haha awww the dogs 😅❤️ It actually grew that big within 1,5 years so I have faith it will grow back quickly 👌🏻
@@plantwithroos Wow, wonder what I’m doing wrong? The biggest leaf on it when I got it was smaller than a soft ball. I probably should of started with one that a bigger stem an leaf to begin with, but I love watching them grow. 💚😀
@@sherryporsch9349 I think it's light.. Mine live in my south facing window, so actually get quite a bit of direct sun. Of course get them used to it slowly so they don't burn. Could that be it? Other that that a pole, regular feeding in the growing season and sizing up the pot when it starts to become rootbound
How do you get your roots to stick to the pole mine never ever do
It helps to keep the pole a bit moist (which I try but don't always succeed in) and to have the right part of the stem against it to start. But also I use plant velcro to bring the plant / aerial roots closer to the pole
How old was your Monstera before you made cuttings on it?
I got it in October 2019 as a one node rooted cutting 🌈

Haha I know they will grow but I don't need so many of the same plant. This is an old video, I just sold a bunch of them again. They keep growing 😅 I use different organic fertilisers and switch between them

Depends on the browning, if it's an old leaf yes. If its crispy could also be ok. If its mushy brown not a good sign

Hey! It is in a pot and insert by elho, but I don't use it as self watering (with a reservoir). That is too wet for these plants in my opinion. It just was the biggest pot I had available 😅 but I do use the elho pots and inserts for other self watering and recommend them!

Hey! Dat zeg ik toch in de video? Dacht ik! Ik heb ook een aparte video met uitleg over mijn airy soil mix. Het is basically 1/3 aarde (ik vind bio potgrond van Pokon top), 1/3 perliet en 1/3 boomschors (excellent bark de medium zakken van Pokon - de grote zakken zijn te grote stukken).

How much a cutting?
When I sell them I do it via my instagram stories in blind auction, so people can bid what they think it's worth. To not drive the price up I don't share updates about the bids, that's what is a blind auction.
