Will there be a "makeover-followup"? Would love to see the acclimatized plants =)

I think that people get really worried about how things are going to look and what's the perfect way... But gardening is about experimenting and trial and error. If you think of it as a science lab then it becomes fun. This bio dome is a great example. I hope you make another video about what this dome looks like in a few months time.

I’m always so amazed by the camera person! S*he is so quiet, you never hear them laughing or even breathing, whatever Summer is doing in front of the camera. I think I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t help "answering", whenever she is addressing the "you" watching.

I think summer always wears a lav mic so you don't hear too much ambient noise anyways.
Real camerapeople can walk barefoot across a sea of legos and not fck up the shot, though, that's the job aha
You can tell Summer has a good little team for these vids.

I would love to see a follow-up video. will be putting Rare Jewel orchids in mine with other plants however with the research I've done and making my own terriaums I will be modifying the soil with the coir on bottom and ABG substrate on top mixed in.

That's gorgeous. I remember we had a terrarium in the 70's but these new models are amazing.

The orchid will probably rot. The sphagnum is very compacted and will hold a ton of water. I think a better option would have been to mount it on the fake wood with just a little sphagnum for some moisture.

True.orchids prefer air circulation for their roots.

or crown rot, since phalaenopsis doesn't grow standing up in nature but on trees, so water doesn't end up sitting in the crown on the plant.

Hey Summer, your link for the biorb on Amazon appers to link to the biorb aquarium and not the terrarium. Just a heads up. Also, thanks for another cool video 🙂

Hey! One week ago I ordered an Exo Terra X-Tall Rainforest terrarium to get my hands on terrariums, but because I have so many plants that would benefit from a terrarium, the BiOrb wouldn't work for me. I had the idea to put plastic plant bags (those for vertical gardening). I am expecting the plastic bags to arrive and then I'm good to go! I'm so excited because I am going to put some really unique plants there!
I appreciated the reminder about the coco coir, for sure we wouldn't want to use common soil for houseplants, and I had forgot that! 😊

I was looking for one of those, ended up getting a 6.5 gallon glass water bottle instead a lot cheaper.

    ... cocopeat decomposes in 2 years ...
1.year if high humidity.. it tends to become compacted. And cause root rot

would love to see updated videos on this BioOrb, for example what do the plants look like 6 months from now, also I have heard the fan on this is very loud, can anybody comment on this? I'd be interested to have this in my bedroom also, but not if the fan is loud.

Biorb are really trying to push these things every plant youtuber seems to have been sent one for free but they’re really overpriced and unnecessary for your average hobbyist eBay is also flooded with people selling them used so they can’t be that good

I doubt all those plants will make it for long. There is that guy who have had his sealed bottle for over 50 years, so its possible, but I think it needs to have very specific plants to work in the long run.
