That breakfast eating scene from Room Service is one of the best comedic eating scenes of all time! Whenever I see diced fried potatos or hashbrowns like that, I always think of Harpo! RIP boys!
😂😂.... What a treat! Margaret Dumont is here too..😊 We were young when an aunt insisted we saw our first Marx Brothers film...in the 70s.. A night at the Opera was the first one and with young and adult friends in Beirut, we would repeat all the funny lines of their major hits for days 😹
Oh, thank you Mike ,very much. The genius of the Marx Brothers and those close to them was amazing !!! Their jokes are epic and forever. Isn't that Raymond Burr ?
Full disclosure, I wasn't 100% paying attn; I had it on while cooking. Having said that I thought it was all one movie & from the bit at the beginning, was expecting big holes or for it to end abruptly. Amazing job!!!
As a kid about 9, 10 years old my older cousins turned me on to the Marx bros in the early 1970s. I'm 57 it's 2022 & the memories & laughs never get old.
What an almost lost treasure! One wonders how many other unfinished or "shelved" gems are out there? Thank-you Mike for allowing us to enjoy this nearly lost classic.
All three were brilliant musicians, actors and comedians. Grouch could belt out many numbers on the piano too and the banjo. Harpo brilliant at mime and pantomine. True theatre genius.
Even at their worst, you could never say the Brother’s films were horrible. That’s how you can tell the quality of a troupe, if even their worst is still pretty good.
I agree. Groucho himself once said that Love Happy (their last film) was horrible. I recently watched it and loved it. Yeah sure I'm a diehard fan, but still 👍
It’s great to see this, for me it’s for the first time and I’m no spring chicken - I thought I’d seen ‘em all, what a happy surprise this is. And it’s got Raymond Burr! And a pretty nice print too - Thanks a lot for posting, very cool…
I love Citizen Kane’s Sled popping out of Harpo’s pockets and all those product placements (amazing how many logos are still recognizable after 80 years!). Only downside was not having enough harp from Harpo.
In the eating scene the guy with the ice pack on his head is the same actor who played Sam Wainwright in "It's a Wonderful Life." That scene is from ROOM SERVICE, featuring Lucille Ball
On screen. Off screen, all five brothers were. They also ALL sang, even Harpo. Once in a movie...? You decide. "Wash your hands the Marx Brothers way" th-cam.com/video/ea6qjbAPfB8/w-d-xo.html
What a brilliant idea and tribute to these comic geniuses. Wou lol d love to see a video about how you did this. Thank you for the laughs and tribute to these funny men😊
Grew-up with these boys. To se this for the first time was Fantastic. Like going back in time>1934. The year Hitler became chancellor ! So remarkable. And the clarity of the film was clean-new. Such a shame their sixties TV show fell thru due to Chicos health. (
@johnmacnabb7562 The Austrian Herr Adolf H. became Reichskanzler in 1933. BTW Father MARX came from Germany, like many other good things, such as the ancestors of Elvis Presley, the founders of practically all of the American breweries (including Anheuser-Busch) and ditto of KRAFT KETCHUP, HEINZ KETCHUP, plus - from Frankonia in Bavaria - the maker of the first BLUE JEANS, LEVI (actually LÖB) STRAUSS (actually Strauß).
This is actually a lot of fun. I haven't seen any of their later films in years, so most of this felt new to me again. I think you did a great job making this feel as if it were an actual film rather than a compilation. Thanks so much for doing this!!!
It's always great to see them, whatever situation you put them in. This does not, of course, QUITE work as a Marx Brothers film; but then - you knew that.
I have all the Marx Bros movies except this one, never knew it existed, but it was almost as funny as the other Marx Bros movies........My favorite movie though was any film that has the Marx Bros in it. They were funny, zany, talented and unpredictable.
Well done! This is great fun and even more importantly it's both a tribute to and an example of the brilliance of the Marx Bros., their so-far timeless humor, and that they still get real laughs out of us, not just a sterile appreciation. So yeah! Way to go and thank you.
The very first product placement scene in movies. 40.21 Thanks for editing together the best of the worst of their movies, which is more entertaining than any CGI blockbuster of the 21st century. 👏
07:25 Raymond Burr on the left. I used to watch reruns of Ironside, a detective show where he plays a character in a wheelchair. He was also in Rear Window, Hitchcock's famous film, with Jimmy Stewart.
Hi from near the "why a duck" - who is the stunning blonde, the nefarious spy with the cigarette holder, just before their dinner scene before the cowgirls- Mr. Horace Greely was no fool...bet he wasn't as smart as Captain Spalding though...I LOVE these guys- thank you so much for uploading this gem! Namaste from Canada
Thank you, Mike, you did a great job pulling it together. First time I've seen it, didn't know it even existed. Very enjoyable, still funny so many years later.
I believe “Love Happy” was meant to be a Harpo solo until Chico jumped in to pay off his gambling debt’s, then Groucho had to get involved or the film wouldn’t have been made.
A sleepy Sunday morning watching a "new" Marx brothers film, that was a real treat! Thanks for this labor of love!!! Must have been quite a jigsaw of material to play around with. Certainly helped I'd only seen Love Happy & Room Service once before whereas, A Night in Casablanca is one of my favorites :)
Thank's for making and posting this. I believe all the critics agree that The Marx Brothers' early films are their best. I've avoided all those later Marx films. I have not seen most of them (for years or ever!) which I think helps me with experiencing this as a linear story. Well done!
In spite of most of their later films, I actually find "A Night in Casablanca" to be quite entertaining. Yes several of the gags are regurgitated from earlier films but they do manage to add a little extra something. Example, Chico trying to understand what Harpo is miming, but they take it a step further by running to Groucho and repeating the mimes, to which Groucho looks bewildered before replying, "Alright, I'll take one of those." and walking off.
Very well done! I thought I had seen all the Marx Brothers movie but after watching this I realized that I don't think I've ever seen Love Happy. I'll have to remedy that!
As a young lad growing up in the early 70s in england during the Christmas holidays, every morning we were shown on t.v a laurel and hardy film and a marx brothers film. Even though i loved laurel and hardy , my favourite's were the marx brothers. Most people when they talk about marx brothers films usually mention films like duck soup , a night at the opera, a day at the races , but i honestly love some of their latter films such as go west , a night in Casablanca, at the circus and horse feathers. All superb movies with their moments in. In honesty i could never say what my favourite marx brothers film was but my 2 least favourites was love happy and room service, but they to had their moments. For me the marx brothers were the greatest and most talented comedians ever. Followed by laurel and hardy.
Just watched this... some people are confused. This is not a lost Marx Brothers movie but a compilation using scenes of their later movies. It was created by Mr. Rowe to resemble an actual MB film. It's actually very well done and was truly enjoyable. Good job!
I’ll go out on limb and say I likeThe Big Store and haha Casablanca. There are elements of each that are good. For example, Virginia O’Brian. Sadly, mostly forgotten nowadays. Anyway. A fun endeavor.
That breakfast eating scene from Room Service is one of the best comedic eating scenes of all time! Whenever I see diced fried potatos or hashbrowns like that, I always think of Harpo! RIP boys!
This was great - plot doesn't matter - then antics do. I loved that gag where Harpo turns the mirror around to see the back of his head.
😂😂.... What a treat! Margaret Dumont is here too..😊 We were young when an aunt insisted we saw our first Marx Brothers film...in the 70s.. A night at the Opera was the first one and with young and adult friends in Beirut, we would repeat all the funny lines of their major hits for days 😹

Harpo was always my favorite. A sweetheart through and through!
These guys were geniuses and ahead of their time. Back in the 30s making such great movies
I love the old RKO beeping radio tower in the opening
Great work! Groucho singing opera is a lost gem 13:00
lots of fun - I'll watch this again, which is more than I can say for Love Happy!
❤👏👏👏 Puro talento. Hoy sería bueno volver a este forma de hacer humor.😂😂
Ya tu saves amigo
What an almost lost treasure! One wonders how many other unfinished or "shelved" gems are out there? Thank-you Mike for allowing us to enjoy this nearly lost classic.
The old guy noodling on violin while Chico macaronied on the piano is simply brilliant
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! THAT is a PERFECT description!
All three were brilliant musicians, actors and comedians. Grouch could belt out many numbers on the piano too and the banjo. Harpo brilliant at mime and pantomine. True theatre genius.
Love the Groucho lines...hilarious.
This moviewas funny from the start. I am glad I have seen this and wish they show it on tv
I always in joy watching those movies with I was a young 😅
Hysterical movie!!!!
Actually quite well done, and the end result is at least as satisfying as any of the films that provided the material.
Good job!
They did so much with so little because they had so extraordinary talent! You’ll bust a gut with laughter!
Even at their worst, you could never say the Brother’s films were horrible. That’s how you can tell the quality of a troupe, if even their worst is still pretty good.
True!
I agree. Groucho himself once said that Love Happy (their last film) was horrible. I recently watched it and loved it. Yeah sure I'm a diehard fan, but still 👍
Some great lines in that. And those leading ladies!! WoW!!!!!!!
It’s great to see this, for me it’s for the first time and I’m no spring chicken - I thought I’d seen ‘em all, what a happy surprise this is. And it’s got Raymond Burr!
And a pretty nice print too -

so..i did not imagine./\ lawyer to us boomers. dear Perry
That was really good - thank you for assembling it together.
This was so good and real comedy. Thank you so much.
It's fun seeing Raymond Burr as a minion early in his career.
I love Citizen Kane’s Sled popping out of Harpo’s pockets and all those product placements (amazing how many logos are still recognizable after 80 years!). Only downside was not having enough harp from Harpo.
Which movie? Did it say Rosebud on it?
Lots of nods to other movies and the Times Square ad props a delight!
The 12 Cowgirls are GOURGOUS.
Wonderful! Thank you for this ! A true gift for Marx Brother fans. And to top it off, we have the same last name !
so wonderful! Chico's piano playing scene, I laughed till I choked.
The eating scene is priceless!
so true!!
In the eating scene the guy with the ice pack on his head is the same actor who played Sam Wainwright in "It's a Wonderful Life."
That scene is from ROOM SERVICE, featuring Lucille Ball
Probably Chico. He was a compulsive gambler and his brothers had to bail him out .
you can't go wrong watching Marx Brothers movies. and Chico, and Harpo were MASTER Musicians too.

I never knew Chico could play the piano that well.
@@zathras11b53 I think they all played 5 instruments.
I love Harpo, he is my favorite of the Marx brothers. I love them all
Lefty was in’Rebecca’ woo hoo
I love all things Marx Brothers
I went as Harpo once for Halloween - back when I had a perm!
Made as much sense as any Marx Bros movie. Well done.
Hey, the man really put effort into this. No reason to insult him like that :D
What a brilliant idea and tribute to these comic geniuses. Wou lol d love to see a video about how you did this. Thank you for the laughs and tribute to these funny men😊
Kudos to Mr. Rowe.
I would not have thought the task possible, but he pulled it off with aplomb!
Thank you for taking your time in putting this together.

Great job!! Awesome editing and love the Marx Brothers👍😎
Well done and thank you very much! I recognize these scenes, but it's so great seeing them in these sequences.
Is that Raymond Burr (Perry Mason) as a leg-breaker? I grew up on the Marx Bros. Stumbling across this is certainly an unexpected treat!
I thought so too.
It certainly is...He's looking for Della, his squeeze from the days of Perry Mason. I always felt sorry for the DA. He never won a case.
Raymond Burr as a bad guy. He sure did have a menacing scowl
I was jusg gonna ask if that was him...Good eye.
He's also the villain in Hitchcock's "Rear Window".
Raymond Burr played mostly bad guys. One was tge wife murderer in Hitchcock 's "Rear Window".
It was more his voice than his look that caught my attention first. He has a very distinct voice
He often played the Bad Guy B4 Perry Mason :)
American humor at its best.. Forget about the rest.
First there's the Marx Brothers. Then there's everybody else.
No such movie, but it was nice to watch some Marx brothers.
Harpo was the happiest, most happy - go - lucky person in all of Hollywood history.
❤ When will Spielberg make a movie on the Marx bros., from the Harpo angle? The best, happiest brother!! ❤❤❤
Thanks Mike!!
Bravo! Encore! If we're going to go steady, we'll need a small truck.
This is actually a lot of fun. I haven't seen any of their later films in years, so most of this felt new to me again. I think you did a great job making this feel as if it were an actual film rather than a compilation. Thanks so much for doing this!!!
I recall seeing that”catching stuff in his coat pockets” scene on TV decades ago.
Great work putting this film together. Very funny and remembering the Marx Brothers comedy genius :)
What a good idea! Thank you. I loved it. :)
Merci quelle bonne idée et quel travail !!
You were at least more productive than I was during the lockdown, lol.😊 it's a great show.
Great to see "new" old footage of the Marx Men .
Those Guys were hilarious Comics and are still making People laugh to this Day.❤👍👍👏👏
It's always great to see them, whatever situation you put them in. This does not, of course, QUITE work as a Marx Brothers film; but then - you knew that.
Room Service and At the Circus are like my favorite ones lol.
That was fun. I enjoyed it. Thanks for doing it.

Pretty good editing. Really cheered me up on a down day. Thanks!
Actually, I miss that type of old-style background music it had. Enjoyable and low-key

Wow, what a joy.
Thanks so much for this gem!
Poor Chico with his gambling addiction ☹️ He had some loyal brothers, though. Too bad this project didn’t get off the ground. Marx forever!!
Bonkers idea. Works great. Well done!
Chico just didn't age externally, he also was suffering from senility from vascular disease resulting in a forced retirement.
Yes; all five brothers were great in everything they put their mind and soul too 🇺🇲🇮🇱 .
Thank you, Mike, you did a great job pulling it together. First time I've seen it, didn't know it even existed. Very enjoyable, still funny so many years later.
Well done and still entertaining.
I believe “Love Happy” was meant to be a Harpo solo until Chico jumped in to pay off his gambling debt’s, then Groucho had to get involved or the film wouldn’t have been made.
It's the other way around, Chico was the mad gambler and Harpo covered his debts.
Certainly confirmed in Groucho's autobiography from the 70s

Interesting to see Raymond Burr playing a toughie.
He was in quite a few gangster roles early on.
Great production!
This was really nicely done! There was a script that the Marx brothers never filmed written by Salvador Dali in the 1930s.
It was “completed” as a graphic novel by Josh Frank with Tim Heidecker recently:

Now I know where Frank Zappa bought his suits...
🤣🤣
Thank you for this.

They lost a key component in their producing. I forget his name : Thalberg ?
@@johnmacnabb7562the best films were the early Paramount films, before Thalberg, A Night at the Opera apart
If you watch "Love Happy" edited this way, it's not a bad movie at all. Notice Raymond Burr as a heavy after the diamonds.
In spite of most of their later films, I actually find "A Night in Casablanca" to be quite entertaining. Oh, and just as with this one, the comments my "lost Python movie" also run appropriately 75% "I love it!" and 25% "Hey, this ain't a lost film!"
I never understood how Harpo could pull that face. The puffed cheeks and fish lips combo
It's an added twist.
Aging in one movie :)
😊 it's actually quite charming 😍... Some good scenes and good overall direction is quite refreshing 💙
Nice job!!!
An inspired idea. I'm going to enjoy watching this.

Nice. I enjoyed it! 😂🎉❤😅😊
Nice compilation piece.
This has always been my favorite Marx Bros movie
But, this isn't a real Marx Brothers film.
This is parts of several movies combined.
